If you are in any type of sales, and meeting with people, it is a must. If you already know you contact well, it doesn't have as much value for that particular meeting. Also I wish there was a way to not sync internal meetings, as it just provides clutter, and I don't need info on those people.

LinkedIn Sales Navigator

LinkedIn Sales Navigator is best suited for business development reps who are looking to quickly campaign accounts and prospects alike. If your job is outbound focused or you have a green territory, LinkedIn Sales Navigator is one of the best tools on the market. I think it can be less appropriate for inbound business development or sales reps, however, it is still very useful in that situation.

LinkedIn Sales Navigator

  • I love being able to look for a specific role when searching LinkedIn- it helps me know who is who's manager. It also helps when scheduling next level calls. Asking my prospect to invite John Smith is a lot better than asking them to invite their manager.
  • I really like the feature that allows you to see when someone has moved companies. This is super helpful in my current role where there is a lot of churn in this industry and happy clients move to another company and pitch our services. It's also helpful being told when one of my prospects happens to leave a company which could impact if the sale will happen or not.
  • I really love the ability to create a microsite and share [with] a prospect. They can view materials and I will know which material they have viewed and which they didn't. This is really helpful when needing to know if a sale will happen or not.

  • At times it doesn't pull a social profile for the contact correctly, or at all, when I know the person has a profile.
  • The interface is a little clunky, and the font is too large. It could be a lot smaller and still effective.
  • It takes a lot of time to sync at points, which is frustrating.

  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator is very powerful, but not super well documented.
  • The tool does not allow for the export of list names, which is disappointing for a tool at this price.
  • LinkedIn's search is loosey goosey, you'll find that it includes names that just barely fit the criteria.

The tool speaks for itself, but the support is definitely a significant portion of why we use the tool. The company cares about their customer's success and it shows. We do not have to wait for long periods of time for the support team to respond; they do so in a timely manner, and virtually always with relevant insights and solutions.

I am unsure of the rollout, as I was not involved. I was an early adopter, and I have had a lot of success with the tool personally at multiple organizations, but I have no idea whether the implementation process encountered any errors. I can personally say that it works, and that I have not encountered significant issues with the tool since adoption, although a few issues like messages showing up as being unread even though they have been opened have been an on-again/off-again issues throughout the past few years. Overall, the company is doing a great job, and our implementation seems to have been effective.

The thing that Charlie does best is it aggregates everything in one place. It allows me to have a one-stop shop, that I can quickly review prior to heading into a meeting. People are usually amazed with the amount of info that Charlie can give you, and it almost always works its way into my sales call.

I don't believe that I've used other similar type tools. There is a software called Norbert that allows me to look up email addresses using the domain handle and the person's name, but I don't think that anything in particular can really compare to the number of people on the LinkedIn platform and the breadth of information it provides.
