I think CheetahMail, being one of the main ESPs in the market, is a quality choice. However, I would suggest that it's really only valuable for a bit larger of an organization, generally having staff of 100+ and revenues in tens of millions -- this is mainly to justify the amount of investment required, so may be cost-prohibitive to some. You also need to make sure that you understand the entire "level of support" you will gain through your specific contract.... the key is understanding what types of resources are within your organization (who's doing the coding? who comes up with the next campaign? What's the overall strategy?) Depending on these questions and resources, may help determine your final needs from a services point of view. CheetahMail can provide a wealth of various services specific to needs (and changes over time as your business changes), but a clear understanding of what you have before you bring them on will really help getting up and running quickly. Also be sure to truly understand the costs for the initial integrations, setups, IP senders, etc.

This tool is helpful when designing HTML code for an email to use in a single 1-off unique campaign. We have also used it to build a complex set of templates containing different modules for separate use cases and campaign types. Using Litmus helps scale code for your business to utilize in multiple teams as well.

  • Internal management - This is a great web-based tool that allows our users to see what emails go to whom.
  • Organization - Many layers of organization for templates since there are many types of remarketing emails that we send out.
  • Historical Records - CheetahMail sends us the raw text files of all email actions so we can upload them to our database.

  • It gives a preview of every email client accurately, which helps us to remove any errors present for any specific client.
  • Every person is able to access our email because we test with Litmus which gives missing alt texts, missing table roles so that the screen reader can interpret it as a table, and structure navigation of the entire email.
  • Gives way to provide review comments and can be marked as resolved after solving them.
  • Can create multiple versions for same email in same folder.

  • The organization of CheetahMail could at times be better, as you create more and more mailings, they just pile up in a long list. It would be useful to be able to create folders to store specific mailings in. (ex. editorial, newsletters, marketing, etc.)

  • I'd like to see the design tools of Litmus be optimized for agencies with dozens of clients. Creating dozens or hundreds of modules and templates for a single client is manageable. But scaling that up to dozens of clients with thousands of modules is not really manageable in the current dashboard.

As I have begun exploring competitors, I've come to realize that every competitor offers so much more functionality and integration than CheetahMail does. When we first signed our contract, CheetahMail was much more innovative and at the forefront of email. Since being bought out by Experian, we've seen a huge decline in service and innovation. They have laid off much of their staff and moved their account representatives to Costa Rica. They also heavily rely on on third parties which you will have to pay large amounts of money for while other Email Service Providers have integrated new technologies into their platform. You will get more for your money going to a different email service such as Responsys, Silverpop, Listrak and the like,

Litmus has integrations that make the software an integrated part of my work every day. Being able to test right within my email builder is just brilliant. Daily I also use the web interface to review analytics and spam testing. Overall it is one of the pieces of software I use daily without any complaints or issues.

We have never had a problem with Litmus being unavailable so I would say their availability is fantastic. There might have been one time years ago that the site was down briefly but it also might have been a server issue on my end. Either way, Litmus was back up and running in a very short time

As with all technology, there are inevitably use-cases where you are unable to get to your original goal without some good old-fashioned experimenting. Some situations will (and are) more urgent which complicates an effective integration of a new process or a new team using an existing process but the "issues" are regularly resolved by re-starting the process specific to when Litmus is introduced to a project. If it doesn't come out the way you're anticipating, run it again and verify there is an issue before declaring all is lost

Account reps have a quick response time but a very slow resolution time. Because account reps do not have technical knowledge, there is a long long lead time between flagging a problem and tech team resolution.

Cheetah Messaging is far good as we expect lots of functions and features are amazing and user-friendly with others they have good customer support. Our marketing team manages every campaign easily and helps their workflow. Apart from this Cheetah Messaging is easy to automate in all inbound campaigns and helps to focus on more nurturing customer relationships and renewals.

Email on Acid has an exhaustive list of email clients, browsers, and devices, and when I last used it several years ago, it was many more than Litmus - due mainly to including a lot more of the smaller or more niche clients etc, as well as older versions and devices. I have never found Litmus not to have versions that I need, and they are very quick to add new ones. At the time, EoA didn't have as many other features as Litmus, so between that, cost, and ease of use for non-technical folks, Litmus was the winner for us.

With our enterprise account, scalability is not an issue. I have not yet seen or heard of significant issues with user access, API connections for integrations etc. This includes down time for "Scheduled Maintenance" as some providers call them, Litmus has the technology backing to support a global team with a 24-hour workday across regions

  • Our efficiency has decreased with CheetaMail actually. Too many service calls to find out why something isn't working as expected, account setup questions, issues with PiP, takes too long to get a simple form built, customer service response time, etc...
  • Reporting is not very streamlined. This has caused us to take our reporting offline and use a method with better visibility.
