Cisco Aironet 1570 Series Access Points

The Cisco Aironet 1570 Series is perfect for outdoor environments to really be installed in hostile areas, which can be on poles, roofs, walls, etc. In addition to covering warehouses and open areas, we created a mesh network interconnecting some access points that are spread over a few kilometers. The access point has an excellent coverage area and delivers optimal speed to users and collectors.

Cisco Catalyst 9800-40 Wireless Controller

The Cisco Catalyst 9800-40 [Wireless] Controller is able to handle all of our wireless needs with only some minor support hardware. We were looking for a higher level of service that we could have gotten with Linksys. I am very happy that we went with Cisco, the improvement has made my work more efficient.

There is no other better option than this. It's the line between the commercial Cisco grade AP's and industrial ones.

I can not say much more about its availability and reliability. We have not seen any downtime or interruptions due to the controller. I am happy with our purchase and it is performing above my expectations. I will be adding additional hardware to the network and I anticipate it being a Cisco product.

The Aironet 1570's performance is excellent and incredible! This access point works with the 802.11ac wave 2 protocol. We have a 2.4ghz and 5ghz radio. The 5ghz radio can reach an impressive 1.3Gbps connection speed. It has intelligent external antennas that better direct the signal to the user's device with MIMO 4X4.

We have not had any issues with the Wireless controller. Our last system had consistent down time and intermittent dropout. The controllers ability to handle all of our traffic is impressive and a welcome improvement over our previous system. Our initial investment has already been recovered in reliable service and improved company wide throughput.

Initially I had a problem with the regulatory and channel selection, it was a bug on the AP as it was fairly new, solved by TAC on engineering release, and since then it has been performing flawlessly.

Alternatives Considered

Cisco Aironet 1570 Series Access Points

Making the decision to use Aironet is more related to the type of scenario that you have. We chose Aironet because we mainly manage all the network internally and already have Cisco products to integrate with Meraki which is a good option if you are starting from scratch.

Cisco Catalyst 9800-40 Wireless Controller

We original worked with a Linksys based wireless system. Cisco improved our network reliability and speed which were the key reasons we upgraded our hardware in the first place. It appears that Cisco is better suited in a Business environment than its competitors are. I look forward to completing the network and to see it fully functional.

This access point is scalable to support high user density connected to the 2.4ghz and 5ghz radios. Because it has a high speed rate it can support that many users use the wifi network at the same time without any type of delay, error or drop in connection. The company's wlc 5520 administers and manages all of our Aironet 1570 series.

Return on Investment

Cisco Aironet 1570 Series Access Points

  • ROI pays off on the long term especially if you care about security and offering a good service to your users.
  • ROI also pays on terms of warranty and time of response especially if your users depend heavily on the network.
  • ROI also depends on the amount and type of users that you have. It's less likely to pay if you have few users.

Cisco Catalyst 9800-40 Wireless Controller

  • In the short time this hardware has been in place we have seen a marked improvement in productivity.
  • I have had to spend significantly less time correcting network issues.
  • The improvements will pay for the hardware in a short time.
