Cisco Board Series vs. Zimbra Email & Collaboration

It is best suited for video\audio calls and meeting use. you can easily connect to the meeting with an ID or your laptop and also share content easily in a couple of ways. It's less useful for large-scale meetings as attendees seem to get lost as their video can get shrunk or hidden offscreen.

Zimbra is great for an email system for a medium or large organization with appropriate IT staffing. The system is easy to use for end-users, and has a fantastic web interface. Unfortunately, it is overly complex, when considering staffing requirements and price, when compared with Office 365 or Google Apps for smaller organizations. For other education customers, it is hard to compete with Microsoft and Google providing their services for "Free" now though

• White board pen tool not precise with the screen location sometimes and refresh rate seems little low

• The password change is not activated when you access by IMAP, Pop3 or Exchange sync. You have to know that the password change is required and you must go to the website to do so.
• The management of mail rules should have more checking options.
• There should be more applications compatible with Zimbra, the ones that appear in the Zimlets.

Cisco Webex Board Series has great UI. It's very compelling to use. Touch controls are great and have never had any trouble navigating. However, screen mirroring can be laggy sometimes and frame drops are seen quite often while mirroring. Overall it's a great device to use with many useful features and optimized UI.

It's honestly hard to tell since we haven't had many hiccups, if any at all! We have used Webex support for other situations and it was great, but for the board itself, we only had one issue, when we received it, a pixel was broken and Webex replaced it. Fair to say they lived up to our expectations.

Overall, we were satisfied with the implementation. We perhaps should have spent more time consulting with Zimbra or others regarding best practices but as we got to know the system better we were able to make changes relatively easily after the fact.

It is almost an unfair comparison as the base Microsoft Teams product doesn't have many whiteboard options. Both can screen share, but it's hard to make a fair comparison. That being said, the whiteboard is really great if you have the smartboard to support it and fully utilize its features.

We selected Zimbra because it has a lower cost in the market, offers more development features for its open source, has a very easy to use interface and adjusts to the needs of the company.

• It makes team meetings more productive. All team members can contribute simultaneously.
• After the meeting, all team members got access to the files discussed in the meeting and this allows you to continue discussions even after the meeting.
• The only negative impact of Cisco Webex Board on the company is its high price as I mentioned earlier.

• Since all of our ROI studies and strategies are performed at the corporate level, I'm really not sure what positive or negative impacts Zimbra has had on our overall business objectives. I can say that at least one positive impact it has on my business objectives, in the medical record department, is the ability to be as paperless as possible.
