Classy is perfect for an organization who likes to create a lot of peer to peer campaigns and sell tickets to an event. I would not recommend it for use as the only event management software for your event but it's a good place to sell tickets and keep registration organized. It is also well suited for a team that lacks a designer because it is so simple to use

Cvent Event Management

Cvent Event Management system has great functions for small-to-medium scale workshops and professional development or professional learning offerings. One-day to one-and-a-half-day conferences can get more cumbersome without proper training and planning. Two-day conferences require team help to accomplish, track, collect payment (especially if offline payments are made), and to foster along the way. Having pre-set marketing themes and pre-created event descriptions is a major help with the load of creating several events for a season. Cvent Event Management is well suited for following attendees along their journey in the system. You can see all touchpoints made with a specific attendee or registrant, and you can monitor trend data for certain institutions that show more interest.

Pros

Classy

  • The fundraising website is easy for a nonprofit to set up. You can customize things like colors and logos and the rest of it is taken care of for you.
  • Fundraisers (constituents) have a pretty easy time using Classy. The system is pretty straightforward with how you sign up to create a page and then it's pretty easy for users to edit their page and share to fundraise.
  • Classy's reporting options are pretty good and allow an organization to view information about fundraisers.

  • Registration Options - There are many ways to guide attendees down certain registration paths.
  • Registration Design - You can customize each and every detail on the registration website to your liking.
  • Reports - With our clients, reporting is very important and there are many reports to choose from as well as custom reports that can be created.

  • It is pricy. Classy is more expensive than our donor management software but doesn't have the robust donor management tools to replace it.
  • Want the ability to allow donors to cover fees in all transactions (currently, Classy only gives the option in some set-ups).

  • The badge designer is a little clunky and difficult to use.
  • I’d love to see their add-on modules priced differently (flat fees vs. per registration)
  • They’re membership module is only for individual memberships, we have organization based memberships, so we’re not able to use it.

It's the most fully encompassed, end-to-end event management platform we have been able to find. From sourcing to surveys, RFPs and ROI, Cvent really does do it all. Best of all, you get to pick what products you need, so you won't need to pay for anything you won't use

VERY easy to use, but lacks flexibility. But very easy to learn and master, even for someone with technical skills. They offer live chat which is a great help for on-demand support. At higher call volumes, you may wait 10 minutes, but I’ve never waited for more than that and the support if 90% of the time very helpful.

The overall usability of Cvent Event Management is extraordinary! Anyone taking a couple of minutes to just play around in the site can figure out the functions and successfully utilize the tools. In addition, there is a suite of help topics and videos for additional assistance.

It would have been nice during implementation if we had received more pointers on how to organize our parked report folders, libraries, etc. to avoid the mess we find ourselves in today. If we had known ahead of time the limitations we could have planned better.

I have not used or evaluated any other products like Classy. This was the system our nonprofit was using when I was hired. We have found no reason to look to other platforms as Classy has been invaluable to us. We really value Classy, and we are not looking to switch any time soon

Cvent Event Management

I have not used another event planning software and am not able to compare them accurately. I have done most of my event planning manually or as a team. Cvent Event Management helps streamline a lot of the process if you are working on a team because everyone who has access to the account can see what information has already been done and it will not be accidentally duplicated.

  • I can't speak to actual ROI, but as a department, we are running much more efficiently and have streamlined event planning processes across 3 business units. This saves time and money. We have nearly doubled the number of events that we manage over the past 5 years and have not added any headcount due to Cvent.
  • Managing over 80 events per year, with multiple invitation lists, was incredibly difficult, inefficient, and impossible to track. Using Cvent has been crucial to know who is being invited, why they decline, why they cancel, and why they attend. The metrics are dynamic.
