Close.io is well suited for a sales organization who wants to track leads, make sure none slip through the cracks, move them into opportunities as discussions progress, and close new business. The simplicity of the platform is part of why it's powerful - it's full feature set can be easily understood and leveraged by even those without much training on the system. I'm not sure where Close.io would be less appropriate...

Zoho CRM

Zoho [CRM] is great for a small team who does not want to have to go shopping around for different tools for different purposes. If they get Zoho [CRM], they will have everything that a small company needs, and there will be many tools to add if they grow. For example, they can start out with email and CRM and add HelpDesk when they need to manage growing customer requests.

Zoho CRM

  • Its connectivity with other applications is great, and exceptional modules in Zoho CRM are a fantastic place to start; but, since the system is so configurable, we can make them suit our specific needs.
  • Excellent data filtering and seamless email connection so I can track communications even if they aren't started in the CRM.
  • The ability to customize fields and layouts for fast access to critical data is great. With the option to build custom views inside our modules record, we have more access to important data within Zoho CRM.

  • Minor bugs? - Sometime when I'm replying to an account it attempts to send the email as a different user. Thankfully I've only missed it when sending internal emails!

  • You need someone to slog through the training. You need either an expert or someone who knows what they are doing because there is a lot, and you can't always depend on textbook-style writing for help.
  • At the time I reviewed, there was no feature that was unable to be off-network - unless I missed this.
  • Communication tracking at every level, including large scale.

Close is a simpler platform to use when it comes to initiating email campaigns and managing leads. It has great visibility on opportunities and can be shared with specified users or can also be kept confidential. Close is not for someone who is very new to tools of its kind.

Zoho CRM also has a mobile app that is easy to use, making it simple for sales reps to have all the data they need in the palm of their hands. Zoho has also launched a recent enhancement to allow additional enhancements to customize the interface and layout of the CRM

I haven't really had the need to use their support, but the only time I had an issue with the platform, the Close team was very attentive and responded in a short span of time. Also they take minimal time to solve issues. The only con here is there is no way to reach out to them apart from email.

Take it slowly and meet often with your team to solicit their feedback. Listen to what they are saying so that if something is not clear, you can address it before they turn on the CRM. Also, whatever system you were one previously will not match Zoho CRM which is both good and bad. It's good as I know Zoho CRM will be better than whatever you're been using. Bad because it will require change and how you did things in your old CRM may need to be modified a little when using Zoho CRM.

Pipedrive was great for us for a long time. We used it for over 4 years. Our product and process was simple. When things got more complex, we needed something that could handle our growing needs and Pipedrive kept falling short. We built our own custom solution in Airtable and though it worked, we spend a lot of time managing it. Close was able to solve all our issues and save us hours per week in admin work.

Zoho CRM

We looked at both Hubspot and Zendesk. And we liked both of them. They had the right features and enough customization options to fit our use case scenario. But we liked the pricing and the flexibility of Zoho [CRM] more. The other really major factor for picking Zoho [CRM] for us was the fact that we were already using Zoho Desk and planned on using Zoho Campaigns. Integrations with those two [products were] the deciding factor.

  • Has allowed us to automate lead entry and follow up, saving us tons of time and helping us to make sure we're not letting people slip through the cracks. This is done through the Zapier integration and new email sequences feature

  • Great ROI! I enrolled in Zoho One which is about 1/4 the cost of another CRM I was using with far more functionality.
  • Awesome features! I've been able to manage 95% of my digital needs in Zoho which is a great time (and money) saver
  • Learning curve pros & cons. I was able to get up and running pretty quickly but there are SO many features & options I feel it will take me a while to take advantage of all it's capabilities
