Data analysis-dependent companies who want to deduce how teams are performing can take advantage of its remote data collection. Extremely large organizations are better off using Salesforce.

Xactly Incent

If your organization goes through constant changes such as mid quarter changes, Xactly is perfect if you have an admin that understands how the system works and can do updates on the go. If your company is currently using Excel as a commission system, Xactly is the perfect transition because it allows you to reduce the amount of time you use to spend creating reports; now you can sit back and analyze.

  • The ability to break up the opportunity to pay commissions in stages saves significant time that would otherwise be spent updating spreadsheets.

  • Would like to see more automated functionality around calculating annual quota attainment for sales reps that span multiple roles/quotas in a year period
  • More functionality with the Incentive estimator
  • Some sort of notification system for sales reps when new orders have been processed

Our company is totally invested in Xactly with close to 2000 reps being paid out of it. We have 3 instances and there is no other method to calculate commissions. I feel the cost (although I do not know the amount) is also very competitive for the benefits.

The devil is in the detail. It's not intuitive to use, also not for Sales employees. You need to train them. For superusers like me you need a lot of training to administrate the system. It has a lot of functionalities and complexity like staging and upload orders, reset triggers, updating & creating rate tables. A lot of formulars are necessary to learn.

In general the system is nearly always available. But the daily achievement calculation takes a hugh amount of time. therefore it was in the past month sometimes only from midday onwards completely updated and usable for Sales employees. Xactly support was and still is working hard to get it available early mornings. Availablility time has increased a lot. It's now down to around 10 am in the moring

They take the time to understand the system. They keep us updated on the status of our cases. Finally, their continued follow up ensuring the initial issue was resolved is very nice. They will not close the case out until they have confirmed that our issue has been completely resolved and fixed.

Xactly offers training on new releases on a monthly basis and training on basic principles regularly via registration. My experience with both is that they do not provide the in-depth knowledge necessary to truly master the system and advanced courses still do not go to the level needed to autonomously manage the system and plans. Professional services are a large part of any cloud based service such as Xactly and I feel a reliance on such paid consulting services is a great money-maker for Xactly.

While the others had more features, there were ones that felt unnecessary for our organization. Moreover, the cost was a significant deciding factor given the pandemic and its effects. SalesQ was chosen because it was intuitive, had a shallow learning curve, and also because it was extremely affordable - closing the deal for us.

Xactly Incent

The first and biggest stand out factor that Xactly has over the other two systems I have used is the user friendly aspect. The purpose of Xactly Incent for most companies is to give the sales team visibility into their details and payments. Sales people are generally on the go non stop and when you do catch them, they half listen. The fact that someone is able to go in without a bunch of direction and find the information they are looking for is huge!

  • Positive: Sales reps see a nicer user interface than previous ICM system.
  • Negative: Significantly more time required to administer the system.
  • Negative: Lost a lot of flexibility coming from old ICM system.
  • Negative: Significantly slower IT resolution times, as now IT has to contact Xactly support.
