CloudDRIVE

It seems to be adequate for those companies that have a lot of information and have the need for many of their workers to integrate or can visualize their information quickly and at any time. It helps to save space on the company's servers and it is very easy to access, it is also easy to use and understand, and it is a scalable storage system

CloudRanger

If you're using AWS to run your Virtual Workloads, CloudRanger is one of the easiest ways to backup and protect those resources. If you're using cloud-native stacks like Lambda, Containers, or Serverless workloads, CloudRanger may not be a good fit since it solely exists in the EC2 space. Even if you're looking for a tool to schedule servers powering on and off to save on compute cost, CloudRanger does a fantastic job.

Pros

CloudDRIVE

  • Keeps my information safe in the cloud which is safer
  • I can view my information from any device at any place and time
  • With this application, I can transfer the data with ease
  • Automatic backup of all files is performed
Jennifer Lamas | TrustRadius Reviewer

CloudRanger

  • Automate taking EBS Snapshots on any schedule and managing the life cycle of those snapshots so they don't accumulate over time.
  • Automate starting/stopping of EC2 instances on any schedule.

Cons

CloudDRIVE

  • Internet access is needed at all times
  • If many people manage the cloud they can make the mistake of deleting some files
  • Confusing legal coverage, there are countries that do not have data protection laws

CloudRanger

  • I would love to see something for RDS environments. We only have a few, but there is no support for them.
  • Being able to share backup AMI's with other accounts would be fantastic. We could take backups of QA\Dev and share those images to our Prod account.

Their support is top notch. I've only had to open a few tickets that were mostly just a Q and A session. But their support has proactivaly reached out and suggested that we update our CloudFormation template to get the latest software features. I usually get a response within an hour after opening a non-critical ticket.

Alternatives Considered

CloudDRIVE

Basically this cloud is much more practical than others, it is fast and have greater storage capacity, but in reality, almost all cloud applications have the same function.
Jennifer Lamas | TrustRadius Reviewer

CloudRanger

The alternative to CloudRanger is really developing something in-house. Automating starting/stopping EC2 instances and managing EBS snapshots can easily be accomplished with AWS' extensive API, but if you're not interested in spending the time to do these things on your own, CloudRanger provides a secure, easy to use, and cost-effective solution for these tasks.

Return on Investment

CloudDRIVE

  • Reduction of expenses in the company
  • A lot of capacity to keep information
  • You can store any type of file
  • It could improve if you could see files without internet
  • Sometimes a little slow
Jennifer Lamas | TrustRadius Reviewer

CloudRanger

  • Reduced implementation and maintenance time significantly by providing a turnkey solution that's ready to use upon logging in.
