Likelihood to Recommend A large company where users have one function- for instance, where someone only receives or works in payables. That minimizes the number of windows they need. A smaller company where one user does multiple functions will require a lot more training and user knowledge to navigate, and it makes it harder to secure users. You also have to understand that GP started life as Great Plains, designed for accountants. The other modules were added on after Microsoft bought Great Plains, which means that modules like Manufacturing are red-headed step children with much smaller support ecosystems. So, if you're starting fresh, you may want to look at something built for the mobile world. D365 and Business Central are a lot more money, buggy, and hard to customize and essentially still vaporware. Microsoft is heavily investing there, leading to the previously mentioned question about the future of GP. If I was starting today I would be hard pressed to justify jumping into GP in a world where Salesforce ties in with so many programs. GP has MRP but it is limited so it's hard to justify a manufacturer starting with GP today.
Read full review I would highly recommend SAP Concur as it's the best tool for managing all our business travel and expenses in one place. It's very easy to use and has a very dedicated and supportive customer team available 24/7. The mobile app makes it easy to manage all our expenses through an intuitive and user-friendly interface.
Read full review Pros User friendly interface Able to be extended into multiple areas of your business One feature we have been using for a few years is EFT for payables - it has significantly reduced the time spent paying vendors and reduced our check printing and mailing costs. It is very easy to setup and use. Read full review SAP Concur has mobile applications for iOS and Android devices. It offers capabilities that automate complex and repetitive accounting processes. In addition, SAP Concur offers invoice, travel, and expense modules in one place. It eradicates errors when paying vendors by matching POs, invoices, and receivables. Read full review Cons With respect to the allocations, once the expense is entered into the allocation account, you lose the ability to run any detail on just the total of the expense. It would be nice if you could run a trial balance on the allocation accounts the same way you can with regular accounts. I've always thought security set up could be a bit simpler. It actually has gotten better through the years. Specifically, with eight separate entities, it would be nice to have a "master" setup where you could call up one group entity, assign the users rights, and then be finished. Currently, whenever I have a new user, I have to call up each individual entity and select all of the features I want the user to have. That means I have to do eight steps for each user. Read full review Data syncing between the mobile app and the web platform may occasionally experience a little delay. That is not a major problem, but it can cause small inconsistencies in real-time data. Concur's setup features may seem a little complicated to certain administrators. Concur offers a number of powerful reporting services, but some users might want more in-depth options for tailoring reports to their own business requirements. Read full review Likelihood to Renew Due the economic challenges that Puerto Rico is having, the company has had to merge some companies in order to be more efficient. It has been easy in GP to process those merges, even thought we had to spend days to accomplish that the process was smooth and accurate. In addition we were able to streamline the purchasing and sales process and the organization is confident to keep renewing GP for the future versions.
Read full review Now that we are fully on Concur, switching is not an option. Concur has become ingrained in our expense reporting process. Furthermore, Concur continues to improve its offering. Each month, they release updates and changes, many of which were client requested. Concur's constant evolution means it is adapting with my business
Read full review Usability Though it is a basic accounting package, I believe some users do not find the old style menus and navigation options intuitive. There is also a great lack of training resources in the market, so users have to learn the product without guidance a lot, resulting in inefficient workflows and misuse or misunderstanding of many features.
Read full review I think it is very easy to use, especially once you are acquainted with it. I think the UX could be improved so some things, like accessing old reports, are more intuitive once you learn it though it is not difficult to replicate.
Read full review Reliability and Availability In prior years I would have given them a 9.5 for availability. Unfortunately in 2015 so far this rating has dropped to a 7 overall. We have experienced far too many interruptions - from admins to employees who rely on it for day to day booking of travel and submission of expense reports. Server errors, slow system response time and spinning wheels are too common place. Those things should be a rare occurrence, not a daily interruption. While Conur still has great product offerings overall, they are currently not offering world class or best in class product (and customer service) availability. Remaining hopeful they step up and get their A game going again soon.
Read full review Performance Pages always load quickly, reports are always completed in a quick and efficient time frame, and everything about the experience is swift. I've never had any frustrations or complexities that can't be handled easily
Read full review Support Rating The rating is directed to the thrid party serive provider that we use. I do not now how good the Microsoft direct support is.
Read full review I have never had to use customer support when using Concur Expense - the UX could be a bit nicer on the eyes or easier to understand, but there have never been any problems when using Concur Expense that I have had to ask or reach out to customer support to help me with anything.
Read full review In-Person Training My Seniors were the ones who taught me about Concur. Concur Support team has sent me training links and answered me in their tickets too. Usually they are helpful and knows their stuff. There are times when webex meetings is conducted for reporting training. They were very patient and took down all the details from me.

Read full review Implementation Rating Basically the challenge with this implementation was the Business Portal, too many errors and even the aplication is up and running the users are still having issues. We will start planning the migraton to GP 2015 soon.
Read full review There are different implementation teams for each module of the product you purchase, so implementation is not a 'one size fits all' environment. Also, the different implementation teams have different ways of doing things, so Concur could stand some standardization and streamlining in this area. A Project Manager can make or break an implementation so don't be scared to ask for a new one if things are rocky.
Read full review Alternatives Considered I come from a strong background of using SAP. SAP doesn't have the flexibility of GP, an example would be SAP doesn't allow core mods, if they catch you, you lose support. Microsoft doesn't really care about mods, but they will be quick to have the vendor you used support your issue if it is caused by those mods. With SAP your company adapts to the software, where with GP you adapt the software to you.
Read full review We have not used any other product for travel and expense management. Earlier this process was manual through HR and Accounts department. SAP Concur now makes the bookings and reimbursements process online and easy for us. SAP Concur also keep track and records of all expenses done. Therefore, it helped our teams to manage financials.
Read full review Scalability The functionality that GP and related ISV solutions offer and the ease of integration of GP to other systems makes it an extremely scalable solution
Read full review This program has been very helpful, user friendly and has been a great asset to use to assist with time management. Not only are leadership involved with using this program but all staff as well. This is also a great way to hold each accountable. Easy startup with not many means for hands on training
Read full review Return on Investment Microsoft Dynamics GP allows my clients to move from a paper or spreadsheet based company to an integrated, electronic, streamlined business. I love being able to help clients gain efficiencies through the use of Microsoft Dynamics GP. Microsoft Dynamics GP allows for better customer service because everything is at our fingertips. If someone calls questioning an invoice, we can easily look it up. If someone calls stating they paid an invoice with a certain check number, we can quickly run a query to find that particular check number to see where it was applied. Having everything on a single platform provides ease of use for upgrades, backups and end user training. There is only one software to learn! Read full review One of the things that I can notice the most through the use of this software is the ease with which I can make travel reservations for business meetings in other cities. As it is a multifunctional software, it allows us to carry out different tasks, and we can finish in record time, so we can also focus on different tasks that are also important for the proper development of the company.
