Conductor is very well suited for keyword research as it has a connection to SEM Rush. They also display content opportunites in a very easy to read way. For example, our content writers, who are not SEO experts, are able to go into Conductor, type in websites or terms that they think they would like to write an article about. The platform provide easy to read and understand contnet recommendaitons like what could be written to answer a People Also Ask question.

  • Businesses that want to hit the ground running and get immediate exposure
  • Complementing other SEM strategies
  • Businesses who want to move away from traditional media advertising
  • Geotargeting - businesses who need to target prospects in specific areas only
  • Scheduling - businesses who want to show ads to prospects only @ certain times or days
  • Businesses who want to drive phone calls
Less suited for:
  • Businesses that are selling products that no one is looking for
  • Businesses who can't generate a positive ROI
  • Businesses that don't have a good offer
  • Businesses that don't have a good landing page to send prospects to. If targeted traffic can't convert, even if the product is good, don't spend the money on AdWords.

Pros

Conductor Searchlight

  • Professional services teams that are on top of their tech skills and can apply that to help us problem solve technical and strategic problems. For example, URL inventories and SEO evaluations per page for large and cumbersome websites.
  • Searchlight lets me understand how my products and services compare to competitors (some I know and some that aren't even on my radar) so I can make decisions about to make sure my content shows up where I think it should.
  • Conversely, it also shows me where my content shows up that I didn't expect or plan for. Sometimes this a great learning for business users that drives new content or concepts to build on success.
  • While monitoring the health of my website is not a key function of the platform, it does give me just enough clues (like broken links or poor page performance) to ask questions about development etc.
  • Conductor has been excellent partners in training a wide range of business users and providing proof of strategic value of the platform's performance and impact.

  • Site Analysis. Conductor Searchlight uses DeepCrawl for its site analysis. While this is a powerful tool that helps me know everything wrong with my website like - no titles, short descriptions, no Alt tags, etc - the amount of information can be overwhelming. Initially, I had thousands of errors I was trying to fix using DeepCrawl - it was difficult to know what I had corrected and what still needed to be corrected without doing another crawl. It would be helpful if there was a way to check off things that had been fixed as I was working through the list.
  • Conductor does a great job training. First, they introduced me to Searchlight and walked me through everything, and helped me create workspaces and set up reports. Then we moved on to the site analysis with DeepCrawl. Because I had so much work to do from the site analysis it was a while before I got back into Searchlight. I had forgotten much of the training by that point. But the team is helping me get back into the flow of things again. They are great like that!

  • Though Google Ads offers greater certainty in the effectiveness of your campaign than traditional media, there's still some mystery to it.
  • Paying per click CAN be efficient, but not all clicks are equal.
  • This is NOT an SEO tool - good SEO can aid your campaigns but it is an entirely separate beast than Google Ads. One does not serve as a substitute for the other.
  • Even when Google Ads work great, they are not a cure-all. Your company still needs to be able to deliver what the customers (the ones doing the clicking) want.

As of today Google AdWords leads approximately 90% of paid searches globally. There is practically is no other network that can offer such a relevant and engaging audience at the price. The PPC model is also unique in that no media dollars are wasted, since PPC models ensure brand interaction versus traditional media which has heavy ad avoidance and clutter but still charges a hefty amount for ads.

Searchlight is incredibly user-friendly and easy to use. Coming from someone who doesn't have much time in my day to be learning new systems, Conductor is very usable. The InsightStream helps me get a quick look at how we're doing and any major events that have an effect on our web performance. I usually log in first thing every morning just to do a temperature check to see how we're doing. As far as workspaces, this is the main function I use and I love them! They update within the workspace so each week and I get automated reports.

We have an absolutely fantastic account team. They are always ready to step in and help us pull information or help us figure something out. The two year-end recap meetings I've been in with our account team have always provided me with some new piece of knowledge that I didn't have previously. I think we're lucky here to have a superuser of the platform owning our relationship with the Conductor team, but there is always a way to make the information from the platform understandable to all different levels of SEO knowledge

I definitely recommend their professional services for getting started. It got our account 90% of the way to where we needed to be in order to gain value from it. In fact, I'd suggest that with few exceptions (such as, you have a staff that is already familiar with the platform and doesn't need any help), the quick start services over the first 30-90 days should be a standard part of onboarding with any new client. It definitely got us to the point of gaining ROI from the solution and, in turn, will make it easier to justify renewal and continued investment in it.

Of all the platforms we evaluated, Conductor stood out head-and-shoulders above the rest. Their product catalog provides exactly what we need (and more), and their customer support team is second to none. I've worked with Conductor Searchlight in two previous roles as well (the first by discovery, the second by my own recommendation); both organizations saw a dramatic increase in online properties' presence from an SEO approach; organic traffic increased substantially, along with gaining a plethora of insights that were an absolute necessity.

Google Ads interface is much nicer and way more fun to use than Bing, and Google obviously has a larger market share compared to Bing. That being said, Bing does provide us with good leads at a much lower cost, even if the volume isn't the same. Both Bing and Google Ads are necessary for us.

The results have been this page having the largest increase in traffic of all our product pages and has seen a 163% increase in traffic since January 2019. Additionally all sales from our office fitness products have made up 23% of sales YTD, essentially increasing our revenue by the percent as well.

  • Several of our clients have been able to increase their net revenues by using Google Ads, since we end up generating more revenue per lead than our CPA.
  • At least one client ended up wasting thousands of dollars on Ads with little to no return. Despite trying different variations of ads and targeting, we couldn't get a positive return for them and recommended allocating that spend somewhere else.
  • One of our newer clients recently allocated spend to Ads that had formerly been allocated to newspaper advertising, and saw a significant increase in revenues as a result.
