Copper

Copper is the perfect CRM for businesses and organizations that use G-Suite. It integrates seamlessly with Google products and makes data entry a thing of the past. With a simple click, you can import leads from your Gmail conversations or import a prebuilt list in a matter of minutes. Copper is truly customizable and is very easy to make the CRM work for you. It is very easy to create custom fields, manage leads, people and opportunities, and run reports on user activity, pipelines, and more. I think Copper is less appropriate for organizations that may need very complex CRM environments and do not leverage Gmail or G-suite products. Copper is the CRM for Google users.

Zendesk

Zendesk is a really good ticketing platform, but if one of your primary goals with a support solution is to better understand and connect with our customers, Zendesk may not be the best solution. The difficulty with getting historical context about the tickets that are submitted, and the lack of a customer profile to really provide real-time insight into how customers feel about their support experience or just overall sentiment about the organization, are a few of the reasons you may want to consider a more robust solution.

  • ProsperWorks UI and integration with Gmail is just unmatched. It's beautiful, easy, straight forward, and a delight to use.
  • Their kanban flow for deals is awesome, and the ability to link any deal/company/person/document/calendar event with just about any other one makes drawing connections between things really simple.
  • Their reporting for activity is awesome. I used this for a period of 7 months to manage a collections team and it was invaluable to watch daily call volumes, and pull live reports to show the team at the end of the day.

  • Customisable ticketing engine - you can specify what fields should be filled on each ticket, if they are mandatory and customise what type of data needs to be entered. This ensures the right data is captured to assist resolve the query. It also means reports can be run from these fields.
  • Reporting and analytics - you can run reports based on the ticket data. This helps you understand what product features need to be improved or added, what new help content needs to be created, if particular macros need to be setup, efficiency of support team and more.
  • Integrations - Zendesk integrates with billing, CRM and other platforms so customer data is available in-app. This information assists the support team give the right information to the customer.

  • I have zero visibility into any of my feature requests. I submit them frequently to my customer success person and I don't know whether they are being worked on or will ever be worked on. I'd like to see some kind of roadmap.
  • The Google Sheets add on is a nice tool but it's frustrating having to continually refresh it, I wish it would just refresh daily by itself.
  • The analytics and forecasting is not very robust, it needs a lot of number fudging on the Google Sheets add-on to give you actionable results.

  • They tend to move slowly to integrate new options to the API but overall are pretty responsive.. Understanding the API is a far less used part of their platform as a whole.
  • We were grandfathered into the unlimited light agents.. but I think that access has been limited as of today.

Don't be fooled since Copper is truly a Google-based CRM and we absolutely love the integrations it provides and ease of use. People just use it

The usability is great, but I do have to be honest and say that I still have a little trouble with the user interface sometimes. I have poor ability to differentiate between similar colors and sometimes if I am not directly in front of my screen I have trouble with the text inputs

In all the time I have used it, I have only experienced "down-time" with it once, and guess what. It was during a scheduled downtime that i forgot about which was posted at least a month in advance.

Overall the support for ProsperWorks CRM is OK. When I get hold of my reps they are pretty knowledgeable and usually solve my problems. When I first started using the software they were a lot harder to get hold of so this has improved. My biggest complaint though is that my feature requests seem to go into a black hole, I never hear the status of them and I have no idea if they have even been passed on.

Every time I contacted them they were not only very responsive and knowledgable, but always seemed to have a positive upbeat attitude. It probably helps that we did not have significant service outages or sev 1 level issues, but even my lower severity issues were quickly answered. And the positive and upbeat attitude really made things feel comfortable.

Zendesk has tons of available material for training - videos, webinars, articles, etc. The only reason this is not a 10 is because it can be hard to figure out how to navigate to these things and find what you are looking for.

Copper

I selected Copper because of its interface with all things Google, specifically the sync feature for calendar and capture of email correspondence. It made sense to use Copper because our corporate communications is built on the Google platform. Bloomerang is an excellent tool for tracking donor contributions, but not as facile as a CRM. I didn't work extensively in Zoho or Salesforce.

We have used HelpSpot for several years prior to the transition to Zendesk. Our biggest gripe was the cost and limitations on what kind of communication channels could be integrated into HelpSpot. Zendesk allows us to have multiple communication channels even for the most basic users and to build on it. With a few changes to the overall system (like better social media support for attachments etc) and inbox enhancements, it can be great.

  • Being a paid user with many Copper team members, we have definitely reaped the benefit of reports by pipeline, along with financial projections, and determining ROI of paid media channels with opportunity lead sources.
  • Copper has also allowed us to have effective sales meetings where our team members go through their pipelines and collaborate together on opportunities and share learning points that help the rest of the sales team avoid similar mistakes.

  • Zendesk can help large and small companies improve their customer service capabilities. Customer service can drive repeat sales, deflect returns, and increase customer satisfaction in measurable ways.
  • Zendesk can be more expensive than alternatives, however it is a more complete product than many alternatives, so the additional features and integration should be weighed against lower cost.
