We have not been happy with the functionality or reporting reports with this software. Numerous issues with employees not being able to clock in and out of the system. Employees' time sheets disappearing. Quarterly reports not matching to totals on batch payroll reports. Does not have the capability to electronically submit w-2's to state reporting agencies.

It enables us to manage the organization's data in a place where I can follow up the what is happening via reports that the software delivers, and with an amazing interface we can handle Payroll, bonuses, and other topics related to Payroll via this software, we can look at the performance. The onboarding process of our new members of the squads is managed via SAP SuccessFactors as well.

  • They do a good job of rolling out new features, making sure everyone is aware of what it is, when it will happen, and providing materials.
  • They do a good job at getting their clients together and/or in touch with one another. This is always helpful to see what others have done and how it worked out, especially in the same sector of work.

  • Sometimes products are rolled out too fast - resulting in critical missing config options (ONB 2.0 as a great example). These missing configs can be highly dysfunctional until they are resolved - to avoid this, I recommend not using any product that hasn’t been established and fully supported for at least 2 years.
  • Performance and recruitment are still using a legacy XML supported format - which is fine end user functionality wise, but can be complex to support from an admin perspective - certain areas of these modules require partner support if you want to make upgrades or changes.
  • SF does a tremendous job at bell and whistle functionality - I often find most companies are not able to leverage more than 50-75% of the offerings though. There are however core functions or areas for improvement that are significantly less shiny but are much needed in various modules.

      Support is still lacking. If we don't have a critical business need where we're looking to license something new, there is no partnership with SuccessFactors. Unless of course you purchase the Platinum Support which we did not. It is difficult for us to take advantage of new functionality when we have professional services fees that will be incurred as a result. We're in a tough economy and our budgets are slim. We don't have wiggle room to add $5k here or $10k there. The overall integration into a total HCM solution is also lacking.

      Support is very slow to correct issues. I have actually reported an issue then 2-3 hours later received screen shots where they were able to do what we could not as though we were doing something different that usual. They are quick to say it is user error. Took too long to correct payroll reports and reports still do not reconcile. Very difficult to complete quarterly and annual reporting.

      SuccessFactors Employee Central gets a middle of the road rating from me because of the things it does really well - Training. It falls short with the objectives cascade and visibility amongst my reports. That's what brings it down to a 5. Objectives need to be clear and concise in order to gain buy-in from your reports, and SuccessFactors muddies that by poor delineation between cascaded attributes and my report's objectives. The whole objectives cascade can be reworked.

      Upon formerly utilizing other services that offered similar functionality at variegated feature set & business plans, SuccessFactors by far provides the best price to performance when it comes to flexibility & visibility into the required processes for managing our workforce. Furthermore, payroll localization & automation as well as HR data consolidation supersedes other competitive services, thus making SuccessFactors a much appealing option to stick with.
