Datto is probably suited best for providers that are starting out or don't care much about client satisfaction. Hardware failures should be the exception, not the rule. It is the other way around with Datto products. They have horrible support and management [in my experience] and really don't want to solve any problems. I used their File Protection service as well as their Workplace service, both were abysmal failures [in my opinion]. The file protection failed within two weeks of installation and could never be resolved. Workplace worked 50% of the time, the app crashed the other 50% of the time. New Dell PowerEdge with Windows 2019 so no, the hardware was not an issue.

It's [the] best tool if you want to support users remotely or [manage] remote servers. This tool is most helpful when you are dealing with users who [are] not computer savvy. You can simply take control and take care of the issue. The performance is sometimes slow. If you need to install the client software on [a] user's computer then it's more complicated.

  • Notifying us when a computer is offline and how long it been off line helps us with employee control.
  • The security of logging in with username and password keeps anyone from being able to take over others system
  • The ability to be able to turn on a computer when I'm not able to make it to the location has been a plus.

  • Their hardware was terrible. We had one product fail four times in 3 months, another fail twice in six months. Same client.
  • The RMM is poorly coded, designed and implemented.
  • Autotask was a decent integration until the integration failed and couldn't be resolved.

  • Not compatible with all operating systems - It would be great if they rolled out to all platforms
  • Requires a good internet connection to keep a stable connection
  • Screen resolution could be improved as the quality of the remote desktop decreases and can sometimes be jittery

What I dont like is when I run out of licenses that the only way to get more is to buy large amounts. this is very frustrating and as a small business I need to watch how much i am spending. smaller license packs would be better

The app works great on both laptops and Mobile devices (iPhone and iPad). I am able to connect to the remote computer even if we are both on cellular and with 3 bars of signal. I have used it on a Plane via GOGO service. I am able to track the laptops and if they are up to date on Microsoft patches.

I don't recall ever experiencing issues with LogMeIn Central. It's always there! It offers a very reliable service that I don't see a lot on other services offered in the industry. LogMeIn does have planned outages for maintenance purposes but they do notify way ahead of time and also they're very short and they schedule them in the middle of the night or on weekends when is less obstructive

Unlike other RMMs, Datto does not require a scripting expert or level 3 engineer in order to set up and for its daily use. I see the ComStore, where you'll find a great amount of pre-made and tested scripts, as one of its greatest strenghts. You'll typically find what you need in there without the need to create, script or figure it out for yourself. If you can't find exactly what you're looking for, you'll very likely find something that can be easily copied and modified to your needs.Integration with both Autotask and ConnectWise Manage for two-way ticketing and asset management works seamlessly.

When I researched TeamViewer prior to choosing LogMeIn I found that LogMeIn was much more suited for providing a central location to access and control all of your computers. TeamViewer seems to be more suited for individuals to use to access other computers. LogMeIn provides a wealth of technical features that TeamViewer just does not have

  • I lost a client because of numerous hardware failures
  • I had a client that lost data because the Datto backup didn't work
  • I've spent more money in the implementation of Datto because of all the issues than my ROI for at least a year.

LogMeIn Central

  • Many times a user will have to ship a machine back to us to repair. With LogMeIn we can remote in and fix most problems without seeing the machine physically.
  • Getting alerts when a machine or server is offline limits downtime and prevents loss of revenue.
  • Even with a power outage we can use Central on the internet or mobile to connect to users to get them working until our systems are back online.
