Docebo Learning Platform vs. Edsby

Docebo [Learning Suite] is a great tool for hosting content when you have a clear idea and path of how you want your users to engage. Essentially, the UI and experience is beautiful and the navigation for users really beats out many other learning platforms but you need to be very deliberate in designing the paths for employees to take. You cannot expect employees and users to intuitively figure out what they need to do within the system. This is a key drawback. What I love is content curation from external sites such as youtube, linkedin, and uploaded videos that can launch all within Docebo -that for us is key to track how much engagement were getting where we couldn't have that on our previous platform.

Edsby is well-suited for day-to-day communication with students, either in the classroom, or at home. It makes planning course progression easier because of the built in day-by-day calendar for the semester. It is transferable, so the work one does in one semester can be copied over to the next, and modified as needed. Students can see the Lesson Plan which is projected onto the SmartBoard, but the font is quite small so they cannot read it from where they are sitting, so I use SmartNotes which has a larger font and then, if needed, attach that note to the Edsby day lesson planner.

• PPT import feature is my favorite. It will let you use your existing materials without a hiccup
• The UI is clean and intuitive. My audience was able to use most of the features with ease
• All learning analytics are easy to use and analyze offline easily
• Using the Linkedin Learning inside the platform gave us some time to come up with our own content, as we weren't sitting duck on an empty LMS

• The LMS is glitchy
• The company as a whole lacks a fine finish. It is 3 star in all categories and can't achieve excellence

• Edsby shows the last time a user logged on. Unfortunately, if someone doesn't log out you have no way of knowing if someone has seen a recent post or is really using Edsby to its potential.

Docebo won't overwhelm you with technical jargons. If you can make a fairly good assumption from the name of the options

Everything is easy to use and well as being overly user-friendly to your average student.

The team is prompt and knowledgeable. It would be nice to have the ability to call and talk to a real person. All problems have been resolved so far, hence no issues.

EDSBY was piloted at the school last semester, and I found it made my job easier, which is a boon since time is fleeting and I could get more done with less effort with Edsby. After the pilot the entire school district was signed up to use Edsby. I like it very much. I did use a blog on First Class which was extremely difficult to learn, and a blog on WordPress which was easier to learn how to use but not interactive like Edsby is. To my mind, Edsby is far superior to the former.

• We have many active users taking course content, which is great, but not a measurable ROI on our investment in Docebo.

• For the most part, teachers, parents and students love the system. It provides easy access to the information that they need when they need it.
