DocSend works really great if you want to send out a doc to a prospect and want to track when they open it and what content they view. The reporting on this works really well and I've been happy with this functionality. Where it falls short is when you're trying to use it for a live demo utilizing the join.me integration. There are a lot of issues when you try to switch your screen and it only works 2/3s the time. I'd prefer an all-in-one solution instead of this Frankenstein model.

NiftyQuoter
NiftyQuoter is so simple to use that when we have a new employee it is not difficult to train them ow to creat quotes. I also think that most customers appreciate the ease of navigating in NiftyQuoter. If you are pumping out between 25-50 quotes per week it is super easy to track them all as well.

NiftyQuoter
  • Is easy to create new proposals with templates, themes & modules based approach.
  • It provides us data about what is happening on the client's side. When they reviewed our proposal, how many times, and who they shared it with.
  • Provides good integration with many other apps, which help us save time.

Cons
Dropbox
  • DocSend has a newer feature called Spaces, it lets you place multiple files into a single "deal room". Unfortunately for us, we need it to support nested file structures for larger content sets. Their support team says this is on the way.
  • I'd like to be able to change the icons for links add to Space, currently, they're a default icon.
  • Navigating the UI is just a bit laborious, it feels like it should be easier to get to link creation since that is what you're doing 90% of the time you go to the site.

  • I personally wish there was a function to switch from a military time to a regular time like most people would use.
  • I think that it could be more clear to the client as to where they need to go to accept the quote. Often times I will get calls saying they do not see an accept the quote option available.
  • NiftyQuoter has a hard time for some reason remembering your password. It seems most of the time I have to manually type my email and password in and I wish it would just remember that for me.

This Software is so easy to use we can typically train people on how to use the basics within an hour or two. Some of the more unique features will take longer but all in all, it is super user-friendly and I have heard very little otherwise from our team. I will say for me personally it is a truly great software that makes my work way easier than it would be without it.

I haven’t used the support as our internal teams do a great job of fixing and supporting our DocSend use.

Anytime we have had any issues there team is very quick to respond and helo us through any issues that may arise. This is quite unique as much other software that we use if we end up needing assistance we either have to wait days/weeks for an answer or we outright get no answers from them.

Alternatives Considered

DocSend is more convenient than DocuSign if you are already using Dropbox, otherwise a lot of these solutions come down to pricing and preference on user interface. For us, DocSend was great until our needs changed to needing a more sophisticated contract management tool. With further integrations and API accesses in the future, I think it will be easier to have all systems communicating and working together .

We used QuoteRoller and PandaDoc for some time before moving to NiftyQuoter. The difference in results, interface intuitiveness, and time saved was what made NiftyQuoter stick.

Return on Investment
Dropbox
  • For about $100 you can optimize all
  • Of your pipelines that rely on decks or documents - worth it!
  • The time you’d spend having to send each link to individual clients without tracking is well worth the $100 on the product
  • We’ve been able to close our fundraising round and increase partnerships by utilizing DocSend - would recommend!

  • Our proposals approval ratio increased by 30% since we started using NiftyQuoter.
  • It is slightly more time-consuming than I would have expected.
