I believe that companies that record large amounts of data about their product, service employers KPIs, etc, can make the best out of Domo for reporting and data analysis, but if a company handles little data and is not recording this consistently, it will not be of much use.

Editing the reports is little bit tricky or time consuming , as we have have to switch between Edit and View mode to see the effect of doing changes. So basically , it's not user friendly at making reports. Whereas on the other hand when it comes to integration , i think its really good as it provides more than 300 connectors, I haven't used all of them but it's a good option

Cons
Domo
- Copying Reports - In Excel or Google Sheets, I like to make copies of similar reports and modify them as necessary for users. In Domo, makes copies of reports (called cards) but all copies are connected. So if you adjust the copy, it changes the original. This means a user has to recreate the report from scratch and then adjust it.
- Unforgiving SQL - Domo does allow users to write their own SQL codes, which is great. However, Domo's SQL code is pickier than the other SQL database I've used (Metabase).
- Text Alerts - Domo's alerts aren't always the smartest. Some of my dashboards are about the sales teams monthly performance and I get notified when there is a change of more than 20%. I always get notified at the start of the month that reports have changed from 'x' number to zero. This is expected because it's a monthly report and I hate getting texts about it. The only reason I don't term them off so I can be aware if something breaks in the middle of the month.

- Having to pay for third-party connector access.
- Limited in terms of the number of recipients that can be included in the scheduled reporting.
- Lots of information on some pages making it hard to understand from time-to-time. Could be cleaner from a UX perspective.

Domo is a great up-and-coming product. There are many fantastic features that are extremely compelling to our end users, which makes Domo a great fit for our organization. As with many BI tools, there are items on the wish list that could make implementation, administration and usage easier, but I believe these will be addressed over time as the product matures and evolves. The overall concept and approach of this solution has definitely raised the bar in this area of expertise and I would like to see things advance in giving the enterprise tools that will make decision making easier and more robust in the future.

It is the simplest and least expensive way for us to automate our reporting at this time. I like the ability to customize literally everything about each report, and the ability to send out reports automatically in emails. The only issue we have been having recently is a technical glitch in the automatic email report. Sadly, there is almost no support for this tool from Google, but is also free, so that is important to take into consideration

Domo is great as a user. It's simple, and the drill downs are phenomenal. The only annoying thing is if you hit back in your web browser it pulls you back to the overall top of dashboard, rather than the previous drill down. As a developer it take a little more skill and learning than other BI systems. It's not a quick learn, but once you learn it you can make it sing.

Google Data Studio has a clean interface that follows a lot of UX best practices. It is fairly easy to pick up the first time you use it, and there is a lot of documentation on line to help troubleshoot, if needed

Pretty responsive. It took a while to get a response in selecting data points for our particular cards. Might have taken about a month?I am not sure if this was something on our end or Domo's end. But haven't had any other issues yet that required additional support from Domo.

I rated the overall support for Google Data Studio a five because it offers limited real-time chat of phone support. The best resource available to get analyst questions on Google Data Studio reporting and integration capabilities answered, is an online Google support portal with text and video tutorials: https://support.google.com/datastudio. But the analyst needs to know the correct keyword(s) to find accurate answers to his or her technical questions. Or be in the correct category of questions: Connect, Visualize, Share or Manage. So, the existing self-help portal works fine to answer basic questions on metrics, dimensions, how to integrate a data source, or how to create a custom report. It doesn't do a great job of answering advanced questions on why data doesn't match between Data Studio and Google Analytics. Why data is not showing up even though the dashboard sources have been refreshed, or how to create a custom Google Sheets to auto-update dashboard every month.

Very satisfied with our implementation. The implementation pre-dates me, but it was very well executed. Our CFO is very methodical about our company wide use of Domo. We have many philosophies and frameworks in place to ensure the platform is maximized and remains extremely effective company wide. Domo has an implementation team if you need assistance when purchasing the platform

At the end of the day, end-user adoption and taking the burden of IT to build reports was my goal. Demoing and testing many BI tools, DOMO is the one that allowed both to happen.

Google Data Studio provides a great feature set considering its price point, especially when compared to commercial options from Microsoft and Tableau. While it may not be as versatile when it comes to working with and developing complex datasets, there is enough charm in its simple, easy-to-use UI to allow not-so-complex analytics to be conducted without having to hire a data analyst.

- Domo has allowed us to see much more clearly what is working for students on our programs, and what is not. This enables us to consolidate success and further develop where there are areas of concern.
- The verbatim comments in Domo makes the reports especially attractive to staff, since they are able to engage directly with students' personal opinions and not just with rating scales.

- Free, so the only investment is time
- Because it doesn't have native support of non-Google sources, it can cost more money than Tableau
- The time spent formatting the templates or building connectors can have a negative impact on ROI
- As a agency, charging for the reporting service is profitable after the first month or two after building the dashboard.
