Dropbox Business
Chose Dropbox Business
Dropbox Business stacks up well with most of the competition, but the pricing is on the high side, if it continues to increase then we would have to look for alternatives with the same or similar features.
Chose Dropbox Business
Microsoft Teams works well but doesn't save files well and sometimes pieces go missing. [In] Dropbox Business, you can work simultaneously and files don't get corrupted. It is more user-friendly and makes working more efficient.
Chose Dropbox Business
Dropbox Business is basically an industry standard for file storage at this point and most clients and team members will be familiar with it. Sharefile’s main advantage is its security. It provides more security options than Dropbox. The only downside that our team saw with …
Chose Dropbox Business
They are very alike-- in the end we need to work locally more often than others, so for that reason we went with Dropbox business as our main internal group collab for files. Box's security is better, but Dropbox's sync and sync control is better.
Chose Dropbox Business
Very similar all in all. DropBox was the most familiar to our team and seamless. Will continue to do research as we grow as a business to make sure this is the right fit.
Chose Dropbox Business
Dropbox is one of the better file/folder sync programs out there. The feature set is more robust than OneDrive and easier to administer as well. Dropbox isn't one of the cheaper products out there, but is does well as a stand alone product (meaning no server is needed). The …
Chose Dropbox Business
The user experience can't be overlooked as to how good it is. Users don't need any training and they can work right away. OneDrive isn't reliable and none of the other products stack up for the user experience.
ShareFile
Chose ShareFile
Dropbox Business makes it really difficult to share individual folders collaboratively with a PASSWORD with outside users. I didn't realize this until I was locked in for a year, so I was mad. Citrix allows for storage that is useful to me and secure for the clients.
Chose ShareFile
Dropbox for Business coming further along and could surely offer the FTP like functionality we are looking for as well as the centralized admin piece but there were two main things Dropbox could not help us with. They did not offer the Outlook plugin capability nor did they …
Chose ShareFile
First and foremost we are both a Citrix and Microsoft partner so we will always recommend their products. 3 years ago we found ShareFile's biggest selling point was the ease of setup, administration, and ease of use while still being an enterprise-grade product. We also enjoyed …
Chose ShareFile
Our main determination of moving to Citrix ShareFile is the recognized security features. ShareFile was created with this in mind and went out of their way in the sales process to help us understand their features. We also work with many large healthcare organizations so this …
Chose ShareFile
Cost is the main reason that we went with Citrix ShareFile. Both have the functionality that we need. Dropbox is more robust (though Citrix ShareFile is catching up), but we have no need for the more robust features. We were essentially able to have 1 additional user for free …
Chose ShareFile
Dropbox and Box are both great file-sharing services as well but offer minimal integration features for the programs. The UI for both is simpler but the workflow features of Citrix make it a win for us as it gives us the ability to automate many things we used to manually do, …
Chose ShareFile
Citrix ShareFile has the workflow capabilities and collaboration features that others don't. This made the solution more appealing to us.
Chose ShareFile
Sharefile is significantly better than other options I have tried. These other options do not offer customized branding, the level of granular permissions details, or the simplicity of use for our team and our clients.
Chose ShareFile
Sharefile gave me more control on the files my employees shared. When an employee departed I simply moved their shared files into the collective. Sharefile also cost less then Dropbox for Business and Box. Dropbox for Business was difficult to administrate.
Chose ShareFile
They are all very similar but we chose Sharefile because its features were what we were looking for in a storage and transfer program. We are very heavy users and it manages to maintain and never go down with us where we have had issues in the past with Dropbox.

Dropbox
Everywhere as aforementioned it is well suited ... The largest and most appropriate... A business can never ever have too many locations of its data stored. This option allows my company to have our data stored in one location and everyone works it in real time whereas the updates go in "Real time" no matter who is working that file. This is the most awesome trick of the entire program not to mention that I can see everything that Bobbiesue is working on out west at the same time pull another activity report to see if indeed Peggy logged in for work from home at 2p yesterday as she stated she did. Its a check and balance for small businesses such as ours that runs on the honor system for telework employees. At this time, there just is not any less appropriate!

Sometimes we just need to send a single large file, and compressing it is easier than using ShareFile. But generally, we use ShareFile to exchange or send anything over 20 MB. A problem that we have not had [yet], but wonder about is this: Are ShareFile and its e-mailed links safe for transmission to/from U.S. Government computers? All of our public-sector clients are state and locality-based. We haven't had any interacton with U.S. entities. U.S. entities, especially DOD, are rather particular about these type of file-sharing sites and links embedded inside e-mails.

Pros
Dropbox
  • It enables us to share documents and workflow to all employees for whom access is allowed regardless of where in the world they may be located.
  • Dropbox Business provides a means to safely store our documents without having to have physical copies.
  • Dropbox also allows for easy organization of our documents in folders and such in the system.

  • Authenticated electronic document signatures--self-signing, and sending out for signatures. This is a robust feature that also allows for additional information to be added to documents being sent for signatures, such as dates, notes, and items omitted but needed.
  • Encrypted emails through ShareFile, Citrix apps for Outlook, Gmail, and Mac email systems. Encrypted email messages cannot be cut/pasted, nor forwarded without encryption. If only the attachments need to be encrypted, the email message can be unencrypted. Also, two options for securely opening an encrypted email (one with less credentials, one with more).

Cons
Dropbox
  • I deeply dislike the navigation. I find it very clunky and hard and not intuitive. A few years ago Dropbox redesigned its navigation and I'm frequently at a loss to figure out where to access the option I need.
  • It should be quicker and easier to figure out how to send a file. I wish I could do that from the drop-down menu in my taskbar under the Dropbox logo.
  • I wish I had the option under the same drop-down menu in my taskbar under the Dropbox logo to go to where the files are on my laptop, which I find much easier to navigate.

  • Users grow quickly (each client gets a separate account). Automated pruning would be nice.
  • I'm not aware of integration with Office365 online (only the outlook app). This could make it harder for some users.
  • It would be nice to have something that auto-scans emails and attachments for PII and would require Sharefile for those emails.

Dropbox is very expensive and its price is not as competitive as it was. We are looking for an alternative that will enable as to subscribe more users at a more affordable cost. Also, we did not like Dropbox customer service, and felt that they should have found a way to compensate us for some of the damage they were responsible for when restoring our data.

The cost is fair and the program does what it has promised to do. Customer service is attentive. I'm not aware of any better-sounding file sharing systems out there that would tempt us to discontinue ShareFile.

Usability
Dropbox
Well-designed, smart, packed with functionality without being overwhelming—Dropbox knows what they are doing and they do it well. They know what users want from the service and they make sure that all the normal use cases are intuitive and at your fingertips. I have never had a hard time finding things with Dropbox and I think their usability is excellent.

ShareFile is so easy to use I was able to download all of my projects files and have them set up to sync before my supervisor could even come over to explain the process to me. It is a neatly organized and intuitive software that allows even the less tech-savvy to become power users.

At least once a week the app crashes on my computer and causes files to stop syncing. It is an easy fix to re-open the app, however I have to notice the app stopped working to realize it needs to be reopened.

Performance
Dropbox
The Dropbox site and tools load in a reasonable amount of time. I don't feel like their site and app performance is any better or worse than any other paid product that I've seen offered by any other large company. Compared to a competing product like Google Drive, the performance is probably about the same.

Easy to use, easy to integrate with Outlook. I only gave it a 9 because I have found that sometimes it does not play nicely with Outlook and can slow it down. But, when that happens (not frequent), I restart Outlook and all is well again

Dropbox
I give it a nine because I haven't ever had to use the support or help. I would give it a ten but since I've never had to use them, I can't really give a full review of how their support works. I've talked to market research teams from Dropbox about new features, but have not had to get any assistance with a problem yet.

Typically the support is very knowledgeable and interested in following an issue until it is fully resolved. I have not had any issues working with their staff as they are all polite and easy to communicate with. If the first or second level tech does not fix the concern then it is escalated until we get to someone who can close the case.

Implementation Rating
Dropbox
The implementation was actually very simple. Again, as stated previously, the most intriguing part of the entire exercise was the implementation of the directory structure for each account. Once you design and implement it for one, it becomes quite simple to replicate for each account you implement thereafter. You just really need to take time to ensure you implement the first perfectly and those that follow on will be likewise work efficiently and easily.

Good documentation for the API. With a little help from RS tech staff, any competent programmer should be able to integrate RightSignature with an existing system in a week or three. That help is easy to get as well

Alternatives Considered
Dropbox
Dropbox Business is dependable, adaptable, and cost-effective for our businesses. On the inside, it’s comparable to other file-sharing and storage. Also, file access and navigation are much faster. We use it to share documents and store data and files for our business purposes. And I’ve never been convinced of other tools’ integrity or dependability. Dropbox Business has good connectivity and is smooth to use.

ShareFile is easier and does what you need. I have moved a few organizations from SharePoint to ShareFile. Just easier. You can setup different areas for different departments, setup their permissions and it is easy enough for them to do what they want in their zones. The mobile app works great as well. So you can all the features you really use from SP, but just easier to setup and use.

Scalability
Dropbox
We've used this when we were 2 users and when we were 20. It did not make any difference. Even when we've had to scale down and fire 10 employees, it was still easy to salvage all the material and keep it organized within Dropbox.

  • Improved risk mitigation - know our files are encrypted.
  • Expiring Shared Links are a must have.
  • Positive impact from Happy Customers. No more trying to send cumbersome encrypted emails that customers struggle with. Dropbox makes it easy for them to retrieve their files.
  • Collaboration makes it faster for us to complete plan documents with our customers.

  • It's been huge in allowing our freelancers to upload a doc or email comp into the system and initiate a workflow so that those inside the organization can provide feedback without the need of staying on top of emails/messages. It's all located in one place.
  • The time suck from the previously-mentioned annotations issue has caused me to lose some productivity as I have to 'wait my turn' to drop in an annotation, then have it removed, and re-attempt multiple times. Not a huge impact on ROI, but it does affect productivity.
  • From the product side, it is helpful for me to reference what the content will be on our website before the page goes up, as well as the copy we send to our retailers who resell our products. Our marketing lingo stays even across all touch-points because of ShareFile.
