It is perfect to answer emails or chat conversations in an efficient and streamlined way. The AI tools are awesome (although I wish there were more options or tools) and help me be more efficient and agile. So far, the only weakness I could find is the research option/feature. Compared to Zendesk it is really hard and sometimes unusable for me. I can't find sometimes what I am looking for.

  • Tooltips feel a bit glitchy
  • The search options for conversations should have better filters (when you look convos using keywords for example or the lack of filter to leave out posts and outbound messages
  • Suggested articles not all the time matches what the customer is asking or from the page the customer is opening the chat. It seems that Intercom bot shows the same article all the times.

We have been and will be continuing our journey with Intercom and nothing too concerning has happened that I have experienced or heard of that has us on the edge yet. If it ever happens it will be something along the lines of "Outgrowing" the use of need of the platform.

Overall, I find that Intercom has almost every feature on our wishlist. Sometimes, I find the location of admin settings a little bit clunky, but part of that may be that I'm newer to the tool. On the chat visitor side, I find Intercom to be flawless (as I've used it frequently as a chat visitor with other orgs).

Intercom is the premier customer support/engagement model and it definitely has one of the top tier customer support teams as well. I don't think I have ever waited more than 5 minutes to get the information I need or get help with an issue. They are incredible and I aim to model our customer service department after them.

Zendesk was very slow and clunky to operate. The system often bugged out and the assigning of emails was poor at best, once assigned it would be very hard to find that ticket again unless it was assigned to you directly. The search function and live chat function of Zendesk were more streamline and smoother than Intercom
