GoToConnect (formerly Jive)

It's a wonderful alternative when I'm working from home and don't want to use my mobile phone because all calls are redirected to my laptop. It's really simple to use and straightforward, with no learning curve. If you miss a call, your voicemails will display immediately, and you can check your call history in an easy list format. I really recommend it to others, it's a great tool for video conversations and screen sharing too.

  • You can subscribe in a couple clicks and that gives you access, for free, to unlimited conference calls within the US and a selection of other countries (premium accounts give access to all countries - but the free service is already quite amazing).
  • The quality of the calls is a sure benefit. One might expect for it to be poor as I did specifically because of the cost.
  • You can use your numbers without setting up a new conference call every time.
  • You can also schedule a conference and get reminded.

  • Secure communications - all the communication data is handled and stored in the global privacy-compliant servers and methodologies.
  • Eliminates the need to have hardware VoIP phones - VoIP calls can be made directly from the desktop, mobile, and other PDA devices.
  • Unlimited call queues - a great feature for our support team handling huge traffic of requests and tickets on a daily basis.

  • Early on (many years ago), I occasionally had some trouble getting everyone onto the same call. But that's only happened a couple of times many moons ago.

GoToConnect (formerly Jive)

  • Certain accessibility improvements could be made, e.g. voicemails converted to text.
  • The mobile app sometimes crashes for me, although other users in the organization haven't had this issue.
  • Sometimes audio or video connection lags, although this is a problem across other platforms as well and may have more to do with the internet than with GoToConnect itself.

I don't think we would ever consider using something different. We are committed to the excellent service, fair prices, and quality product that GoToConnect offers us. We've recommended GoToConnect to all of the local offices in our field; but their loss is our gain. We have been able to increase productivity, increase clientele, and increase profit margin.

[...] The overall usability is different depending on the medium in which the user is utilizing for the call. On a stable connection in front of a laptop or desktop, it is a top-notch system. When the user tries to go mobile, he or she can really start to experience defects in the usability and overall experience.

The support offered by GoToConnect is exceptional. Every agent I have spoken with has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I can say, I never ended a call frustrated or hung up because of a language barrier or an inability of the agent to resolve the issue at hand with one phone call. I absolutely love the fact that they not only stay on the phone with you to resolve an issue (no matter how long it takes), they follow up via email to make sure the issue was fully resolved. I can say that you all definitely have RingCentral beat from a customer service standpoint.

We changed from a landline (horrible and expensive) to Verizon One Talk (WORLD'S WORST PRODUCT) to Vonage (GIANT DISASTER) to GoToConnect. GoToConnect not only met all of our needs but exceeded our expectations with the services we receive. We could not have had a better process for set up; it actually worked like it was supposed to and gave us more than what we needed!

I selected freeconferences.com at the time because I didn't have access to my webex account and I was crunched for time . I was a bit amazed/"Taken back" as i wondered why this wasn't protocol already. The platform is easy, free, a no-brainer.

I have used large scale call center software. When I came into this company, I went back to my old phone vendor to see about putting that system into the firm. It was neither cost effective or practical. I quickly came up to speed with GoToConnect and became a true believer.

  • The ability to keep organized and send quick messages or make quick calls all from the desktop definitely decreased time spent on administrative tasks.
  • Having a platform to having meetings, even from a distance, may save your company money and avoid spending fees to use other methods like Zoom since there are limits on attendance and time with free versions.
  • Compared to other cloud PBX systems, this one is very simple to use and therefore cuts down on the training time of employees to understand how to use the resource effectively.
