Gumlet vs. VEED.IO

I think Gumlet is suitable for any content creator that makes videos for clients as well as for small businesses that want to host videos on their website to promote their products/services. If you want to make quick videos sharing your screen you have to do this using a different tool then export your footage and manually upload to Gumlet so it's not ideal for that

VEED is a very simple and effective platform to create podcast videos and short video clips for social media marketing and educational purposes. If you only have audio files that you want to share on social media, you can transform these audio files into video files that can be shared on social media. You can embed the caption into the video and insert a progress bar which makes the video produced high quality and very user-friendly to consume. We use VEED to give a taster to our clients and we build a library of snackable videos.

1 is because I have purchased the lifetime offer from Appsumo, therefore does not need to renew any subscription from Gumlet, however the monthly subscription of the custom domain is makes us quite limited in terms of using 1 account to host few domains.

Everything is in the same place, and the UI was very well thought out. Even if you're no tech savvy, it's just as a simple plug-n-play system that any beginner can put up to work quite easily and fast. You just go through the main settings once, and then everything works the same, seamlessly.

This is probably the biggest factor for Gumlet. Their support team is fantastic and always professional. Most support inquiries through their chat get answered in minutes.

It was quick and easy. We found that the import from Vimeo wasn't pulling in the highest original quality so we manually uploaded our clips.

Some of our clients use Vimeo Livestream and find it overly complicated. Gumlet hasn't released it yet, but considering how easy it is to use their other services, I trust it will be just as easy to live stream - with the bonus of the content protection. Vimeo is overpriced for what they offer, and charge for DRM as an additional add-on on top of their industry-grade CDN. Wistia doesn't have download protection. Way too easy to download and resell content.

I originally chose Veed over Descript for its easy interface. However, I am switching back to Descript because in my opinion the product is less glitchy and comes with better support and features.
