I love using Guru to house SOPs on repetitive and common tasks. I personally take the approach that not everything need to live in Guru - some things can be trained, others can be macros etc. I think Guru makes it super easy to document and house that really important day to day work. Primarily we find it useful for SOPs, product information, and documenting team processes.

  • Guru could improve on search mechanics. Sometimes, providing a keyword to search does not pull up the most relevant article/card.
  • Guru could also improve the content to be much clearer and more precise, especially with the step-by-step process. Fixing this issue prevents agents from being confused about the process.

Super easy to understand most functions, and how to operate the tool. Searchbar helps loads together with the filters. If almost feels and looks like your inbox in Outlook or Gmail, with folders on the left side and searchbar on the top, again super easy to operate and understand. Love templates and the ability to structure customised team folders with specific info

I have never encountered an outage with Guru in the year+ we've had it. I also never encountered an outage at the previous company where I used Guru. It has been extremely reliable.

There is some occasional slowness, or multiple refreshes before content will load. This doesn't happen frequently, though, and I don't get complaints from teammates about it.

You will need a very strong team of guru champions in order to get EVERYONE and EVERYTHING on Guru, it takes some craziness and over talking about guru everywhere to get people to be exicted, contribute and use. If you are starting any kind of buisness and you need KB, just go for guru as fast as you can because when you will grow you will thank yourself.

Guru prioritizes the domain I work in, and their algorithm gives me results focused on my domain first. Depending on the search terms being used, then they provide what is most relevant to the term searched. Very often, this is a time-saving exercise. We also have access to how many people are reading each card, and we can offer feedback to the owner/deviser of a card if the knowledge there is outdated or if a few lines of information would add to the overall context. The data we can extract helps us understand potential gaps and where we could do better.

Guru is somewhat expensive compared to what our org is typically willing to spend on software solutions. Additionally, there is a price difference per seat when paid monthly versus annually, which was a big downside for us as my company didn't want to commit to an annual cost.
