Hootsuite Enterprise

Hootsuite is great if you want to monitor one or more accounts. Specifically, if you are trying to build out a social calendar. Hootsuite makes it easy to develop a thorough content calendar while also promoting/posting things in real-time. If you want to boost interaction with consumers/followers, Hootsuite makes it easy to see mentions and interaction and then tweet back to other users.If you are unsure of your social goals, I would say Hootsuite might not be for you, as it pertains to more advanced levels of social media marketing.

Sprinklr

When Sprinklr works well, I love it and swear by it. I do like it much better than other tools I've used such as Percolate. The issue, however, is if you have a customer support issue, you are screwed for an elongated time.The tool would work very well if you have one person on your team designated to management who could keep pushing support and who could assist in building customizations.

Pros

  • Hootsuite has been a valuable tool for enabling multiple members of the team to work efficiently and comfortably since each login profile can set their dashboard up as they wish. That's something that we haven't had before and makes things much easier for each one of our team members.
  • Since there are multiple logins Hootsuite makes it much easier to keep track of what team member is managing what conversation. It allows us to make sure that all of the incoming questions are answered and that no one person gets too overloaded. It also makes it easy to assign things to some other departments that are set up to respond/monitor specific posts as well.
  • Hootsuite offers many opportunities to learn! There are webinars that pop up often and Hootsuite University is full of handy modules that can help make life easier for our Social Support team. We're much better off for having those opportunities to increase our own knowledge!
  • Great customizable tagging features, filters, custom dashboards, etc.
  • A great one & done solution.
  • Very detailed data available, that is much easier to pull than native reports and often allows for further details unavailable natively (if set up properly. This is time-consuming.

Cons

  • Currently, university LinkedIn accounts cannot be linked through Hootsuite, so we still have to log in separately to manage that account.
  • I wish we could customize the look and feel of the dashboard a bit.
  • Implementation: This isn't necessarily a fault of Sprinklr's but rather because of the vastness of offerings and possibilities, it was hard to wrap our head around how to set up. The Sprinklr team walked us through everything and suggested use-cases. It took a few months to really understand how we could best make use of the offerings. We refined continually as we evolved and as Sprinklr expanded their capabilities.
  • UI: This is no longer an issue but when we first began the service, the UI was clunky. It is now vastly improved - simple, aesthetically pleasing, and easy to use.

• Usability is one of the great strengths of HootSuite. It has a simple, clean and uncluttered user interface which means that the software is very intuitive and self-explanatory.
• Scheduling could not be simpler. We can explain how to do it to our interns in just a few minutes

Overall, I really enjoyed Sprinklr. It is a multi-faceted platform although I used it primarily for review management. It's easy-to-use and learn, has great customer service and is a great design. My only complaint would be that if there was a blip in pulling in reviews, we'd have to go back through each review site manually and make sure nothing was unresponded to. This could be cumbersome and time-consuming. Other than that, I really enjoyed using it

I don't recall our training in detail. I know we met in person a few times, and did some over-the-phone product walk-throughs. It may have been somewhat informal -- I don't recall having any takeaways to refer to.

I would prefer a PDF to video, but it’s good. I would have expected more documentation to be available, but this is a good resource. We also got one session with our account rep. It was fine, 90%. She knows the tool well from a functionality perspective, but you could tell that she was not really a practitioner or user of the tool

Alternatives Considered

We selected Hootsuite Enterprise because it gave us the greatest access to various social media platforms, the simplest and most robust team settings, and ongoing support that clearly indicates they are keeping up with the evolving social media environment.
We looked at a dozen and the shortlist ended with Spredfast and Sprinklr. Chose Sprinklr because they were more Enterprise ready at the time. We continue to review other SMMS's, but have seen no reason to leave Sprinklr.

Always start simple with Sprinklr, e.g. one client. You can easily grow over time adding products/units/regions, etc

Return on Investment

  • Overall, we didn't have a major impact on our biggest objective. Individually it worked on the small projects, not the overall picture.
