We being a SaaS company are really happy with the concept and the entire procedure that HuddleUp follows. What I feel is that a company with up to 500/600 employees should definitely use this product. I also feel that this product will help employees to stay connected in a remote working set-up because they have a feature of social connection wherein they regularly connect employees over Slack.

  • Time off tracking tool needs to be more customizable to accommodate varying types of PTO policies. Employees need to be able to easily see what time off they have available.
  • Performance reviews need to be more streamlined and user friendly for managers. They should be able to see employee responses while they complete reviews. A side-by-side view would be helpful or integrating the responses by question in one view would work as well. It's just very clunky right now for managers. Would also be great to have a place in Namely where managers can keep performance notes (outside of a scheduled review) on employees to reference during reviews and 1:1's.
  • Increased foldering capabilities in the Resources section to have folders within folders for better organization of resources.
  • Decrease lag time for benefits updates with providers.
  • Updates made in HR profiles should flow over to Teams page, like title and reporting line changes.
  • Ability to search the feed would be great.
  • Analytics on site usage, i.e., pages visited, resources accessed. This data would help show management the usage and engagement of employees as well as ROI.
  • More posting capabilities in the feed would be good. Allow posting of videos, audio files, gifs as well as increased text formatting capabilities.

Administrators and employees love Namely. It is very easy to use and streamlined. Employees stay engaged with news feed updates and enjoy all the self service options. The time cards are very easy to access and clocking in and out for non-exempt employees is a breeze. Namely is part of our family.

I've commented on this in some of my earlier responses. The UX overall is solid, with a few very rough or awkward areas. Overall, navigation can be a real challenge sometimes. The PTO management (for your employees) is sometimes awkward. The biggest problem is around goals tracking, quarterly/annual reviews, etc. It is often very hard to "get to" the view or screen you are looking for (not obvious from the UI). Once you get it down, it works but for things you don't do frequently (quarterly reviews), you forget and have to figure it out again each time. That part is frustrating. Other areas, like the social networking are very well done and intuitive.

Unfortunately, in more recent years we've had a lot of difficulty with Namely as they've undergone a lot of internal changes. It took 4 returned emails saying the person no longer worked at Namely to find someone to help me (I finally called payroll) and it took a while to get connected with a direct source of help. Namely now has set up their "pod" feature of communication which works well for the most part, but is different. I felt spoiled when we first started with Namely, but now it feels very much like working with most large companies' help centers. There is a system to go through and you do have the option to click "urgent". In general the help is efficient, but it still takes a few days and it's hard to speak with someone directly. It is all done via online communications and is difficult to actually speak to someone on the phone. This works well for most cases, but I do feel frustrated more often than I'd like to with this type of communication. (2019/2020)

It went smoothly, but there were many requests I had on reporting, tracking, etc that were never put into place. I would have set these things up myself but we were also never told how to do it. They ran a parallel payroll test, or said they did, but when I audited our first payroll, there was a lot wrong with it (taxes, deductions, etc) that required a ton of manual adjustments on the next payroll.

I did not select Namely. I inherited it. My predecessors chose it because they thought it "looked good" and that employees would like it. ADP and Ultipro are both better. Namely might be fine for 50-100 per some employers, but it gets painful beyond that point.

  • Product cost is way too high for services delivered. It was the worst financial investment we have made in years.
