Likelihood to Recommend

InsideSales.com Predictive Playbooks

Playbooks is extremely helpful when it comes to knowing where you are with each account - it eliminates the extra "thought" behind each prospect as it organizes it for you. When attempting to be a bit more strategic though, beyond simply when to reach out to an account (ex: wanting to organize accounts in a certain way), there's less of a customized ability here, making reps look elsewhere for support on this.

Outbound dialing is where it excels. It's especially good with larger teams of reps. Organizing through campaigns and seek lists is very powerful once you understand how to use it. There is definitely a learning curve with seek lists (I've spent tons of time on the phone with their support staff) but once you understand it the possibilities are endless. You can sort which leads show up by a variety of filters. Even with a list of 10,000+ leads and 5 reps calling on it, you can ensure no leads show up in two reps lists, the reps are calling specific territories, and even skipping leads that are likely on their lunch break! One my of favorite tricks with seek lists and only calling people with titles like Director/VP/C-Level before 8:30am or after 5pm their time, when those people are more willing to pick up the phone. They also appreciate a sales rep who is putting in the extra time to call during those blocks.

Pros

InsideSales.com Predictive Playbooks

  • Managing a cadence. Playbooks clearly delineates a designed cadence with symbols and guides. Templates can be applied across the cadence (more on this later).
  • Tracking team scores. Cold calling is gamified with Playbooks to keep team members competitive. For instance, making a call is worth one point, while marking a play as successful will net a user 5 points.
  • Creating templates. Email templates are easy to create, disseminate to your team, label, and apply at your chosen cadence stage. Mail merge fields allow for very specific templates that will appeal to your leads. Playbooks integrates seamlessly with Outlook.

Cons

InsideSales.com Predictive Playbooks

  • I feel my computer has overall slowed down since downloading Playbooks.
  • Sometimes I would rather just keep calling instead of sending an email. Not every lead has the same cadence.
  • Requires additional clicks and loading which can be kind of annoying.

  • No call parking features for inbound calls, if on a call through the dialer, one cannot place that call on hold to take the second call.
  • All notes are lost when another inbound call comes in, whether or not you accept that call.

I think it is fairly high but has room for improvement. The process of skipping steps and needing to fill out a reason why can take up a good amount of time if you need to skip many steps. This could give poor data to the business as most representatives will just put a period or empty symbol for the reason to save time

To the capacity in which I'm using InsideSales, it is fantastic. The small issues such as LocalPresence going down can be frustrating at times, but it is usually addressed in a timely manner.

Alternatives Considered

InsideSales.com Predictive Playbooks

Playbooks comes with many more features and it is not as glitchy. It allows me to consistently move forward in my tasks and not have to wait for a bunch of tabs to re load to complete my work.

Outreach is great if you need your calls and emails to happen at certain sequences. InsideSales is better for just doing calls and logging tasks in Salesforce. Because PowerDialer does not connect with gmail, I have to go in and send emails and open up another windows to do so. Outreach makes it easy to call and send emails all from one place helping you to be faster in your touch points to reach out to prospects.

Return on Investment

InsideSales.com Predictive Playbooks

  • I think I am more productive on a daily basis with my newly assigned accounts and prospecting
  • I hope that when I have been using it for a long time, not only will it increase my productivity but also my generated revenue/closes.
  • I think it makes my day more structured too, as I want to complete my newly assigned and prospecting in my early day versus waiting until later in the day to do it.
