We chose Kofax PDF for its in-the app features, because widely used by major enterprises and it allows you to create, edit and annotate documents. Adobe Acrobat DC - It is a powerful program, but also comes with a hefty cost, and limitations which Kofax surpasses. Plus Kofax is …
I needed a program similar to Kofax Power PDF on my personal home computer. I couldn't afford Kofax for this sometimes use scenario. So I looked around and decided on Soda PDF. I was not as pleased. The interface was not as familiar and the way it was marketed, I am still not …
None of these software packages worked as well or offered the value that Kofax Power PDF Advanced offered. Though a few may cost less, the value for what you get, time spent on the project, and the dollar investment, quickly stack the deck towards Kofax. In my opinion, Kofax is …
Most of them require subscriptions that annually cost about the same as a single license of Power PDF. One of them had also had a major data breach recently I believe.
Kofax Power PDF is the only application that has all of the features I need in one place. I still use DocHub/DocuSign for simple documents that don't require a lot of form filling but Kofax Power PDF is always my first choice for working with anything above that. The Form Typer …
Beats them all hands down. The rest of them lack tools, are difficult to navigate, do not have the thumbnail viewer that I find very important. I keep between 20 and 50 PDF's on my desktop at any time, to be able to glance and find the one I need without reading the file name …
Our Prosecutor's office uses Power PDF heavily for redaction of documents published for Court proceedings. Our Assessor's office uses Power PDF to collect information for processing Homeowner Exemption Forms for the public. IT/PIO use Power PDF to create documents we publish on our main website for the public to download, fill out, and return.
When I get any pdf form to fill, I use this software to fill in all the required details. It is very easy to fill any form in pdf format in this software. Whenever I need to sign any official document digitally, I use this software. It also helps us to protect our confidential documents with password protection. We add passwords to our confidential documents with the help of this software.
Power PDF integrates well with the Microsoft 365 (formerly Microsoft Office ) modules. This makes it very convenient to create .pdf documents directly from Microsoft Word and Excel and automatically open the resulting .pdf document in Kofax Power PDF for any required post processing.
Power PDF allows easy "drag-and-drop" assembly of a .pdf document composed of pages from various other .pdf documents. This capability is crucial to generating a single cohesive .pdf document from a variety of source applications.
Power PDF's cropping function allows for easily picking out excerpts from a .pdf document for use in other .pdf documents or other applications. The ability to save these files in JPEG format also provides good flexibility for importing to other applications.
OCR comes in handy when you need to scan a document image for embedded text for edits. This feature is a common tool but the accuracy of OCR helps for quick edits.
Conversion options are a plus and a must-have when you need to convert between Microsoft Office and PDF.
During the pandemic, the ability to offer digital signing with personalized signatures is a major plus. Glad to have this tool available when needed.
Difficult to add stamps - wanted to add a "checkmark" stamp and had to first find an image then work hard to make it a stamp
Would be nice to have a better library of stamps for different use cases
Sometimes the "search and redact" feature misses things if they are not exactly right. For example, the same numbers with a hyphen are found but without a hyphen, they are not.
This program can do everything that acrobat can do. Kofax PDF is priced so that we can afford to purchase for more employees when we need to. Since we are hoping to grow exponentially in the next few years, this product will be the one we go with. I'm very happy with Kofax Power PDF
It is fast and easy to get the hang of. It really didn't take a lot of effort to learn how to use this program and I appreciated that it was pretty "plug and play" and there wasn't a long learning curve.
Other that a PDF partially disappearing if left up for a long period of time - no issues. (If you close it and reopen it, it is all there. We have some PDFs that are 400-600 pages long.)
Pages nearly always load at the expected rapid speed. Some documents that print quickly from Adobe Reader print much more slowly from Power PDF. I have never generated a report - that's a feature I didn't know existed until now and do not know what it's for
I haven't had to use the support yet, but I will give this company the benefit of the doubt before giving it a lower than stellar rating, especially because the product itself is integral to my business and therefore incredibly beneficial to me.
I got an overview of the product from my predecessor who was about to retire from the job I now hold. He did not go into very many of the features and probably only knew about the ones he used most frequently.
We watched the training videos and tested out the features and functionality side by side. Some features are not used on a regular basis is it is convenient to go back and review training on that particular functionality when needed.
Easy and quick, with no problems or support needed. Worked as intended right out of the box. E-signing was the only area that implementation was dificult and required support
When I started using PDF software, I only knew of Adobe. I quickly learned Acrobat and found my way around that software pretty well. I tried others, like PDFCreator, but I stuck with Adobe until I switched to Kofax/Nuance. It was quick, simple, and seamless. It has a similar look and feel as Adobe; it has all of the same features; for the most part, the icons and menus are very similar in appearance and location; and the software, in general, is fairly intuitive.
I tried Smallpdf for sometime. It is also a very good tool for pdf related tasks but it doesn't provide a comprehensive functionality to edit a pdf document. I couldn't modify the text of my pdf documents in Smallpdf. But SodaPDF gives me the functionality to edit/change the text of my pdf documents. So I shifted from Smallpdf to this software.
Not really familiar since I'm the only person who uses it. But in the past it has been my understanding that Power PDF was offered only on a single-license basis, so it's been expensive for me to use it at home and at work because I had to pay for it on my own. In my current position management supports it so I at least only have to pay for it once.
The ability to make images of text searchable enables me to do my job. Without this ability it was virtually impossible to find relevant information in these large documents.
The return on investment was huge. I can now take on much more work than before.
A recent project came across my desk where we had to recreate static files into editable word documents. Thank goodness for the OCR feature. It made for an almost flawless conversion. Minor edit here and there, no fault of the program. It was more due to the file quality of the original scan. Saved me time.
The feedback option is another plus: The review/comment function is great for easily getting document feedback. We just started using this feature. Another time-saver.
Document management due to file conversion options makes it easier to keep documents all in one place. Also, the ability to share these documents with coworkers is a major plus!
