Lansweeper

Lansweeper is well suited for small, medium and large businesses with LAN-only devices and outside as well. It's great to scan all sort of things and reporting them to you in the way you want (graphics, charts, tables, etc.). I have no clue about their help desk features cause we're not using them but I could see a benefit from using one tool for two things. It still has some room for improvement for mobile devices and MacOS and Linux devices scan with agents, but they're working on it so there's hope.

Zoho Desk

Great for startup companies from my experience. Cannot speak for large companies (50 support reps or up) however, it does a fantastic job of proving an easy-to-use interface. Great for software companies and also likely a good fit for brick-and-mortar retail store customer support for email and phone.

Pros

Lansweeper

  • Lansweeper is grabbing lots of data from the machines without slowing the network and the client machines. We can easily get all the installed software data, hardware and linked hardware and all the user you can grab from the AD (computer and user).
  • Lansweeper can now scan Windows, Mac and Linux with an agent installed (or not if you want that the server is the one pulling the data).
  • The web interface is really friendly user and offers lots of possibilities to personalize your dashboard as you see fit.
  • Reports engine is really powerful and easy to monitor your machines and also your security issues.

  • Offers a great integration with other Zoho Services so you can increase the possibility of your data/workflows.
  • It has a good API to automate some things or feed any custom-made applications inside the organization.

  • Results are not instant, meaning they take time to scan
  • Purging is not accurate. I have seen machines show up that have been off the domain for weeks
  • The interface could be more intuitive

Very helpful support and fast responses - can answer any questions in a friendly manner and provide guidance and suggestions in trying to solve various configurations within Lansweeper. Another significant benefit is their Newsfeed keeps you update to data on big IT news, such as EOL announcements in the industry, and vulnerability alerts. On top of this, they regularly publish importable reports that you can pull into your Lansweeper installation to assist in searching for vulnerabilities and EOL products to take action against. Very positive experience!

Alternatives Considered

Lansweeper

The main competitor that are not isted on your TrustRadius is PDQInventory and PDQDeploy, and those two come as a package and they blow Lansweeper out of the water for both software deployment and hardware inventory. That being said, comparing it to the others I see listed: Spiceworks is just as good for inventory, and it is free. Landesk(Ivanti) is better, but ten times more expensive. SCCM works well, but takes an unbelievable amount of configuration. ManageEngine, I would rate it equal with Lansweeper. All in all, Lansweeper works for what we use it for, and I would like to see what it does when fully unleashed.

Zoho Desk comes at a better price, and it offers integration with other Zoho applications so you can keep your information in a single place. Their support is good and will guide you through many things. Also their API is similar to other Zoho platforms, so employees can already be familiar with the technology
