Google Data Studio offers the best bang for your buck because it is free to use and works well as a baseline tool/offering. It'll provide you an easy to use data visualization tool that can crank out dashboards that are client ready with support from the Google community.
Editing the reports is little bit tricky or time consuming , as we have have to switch between Edit and View mode to see the effect of doing changes. So basically , it's not user friendly at making reports. Whereas on the other hand when it comes to integration , i think its really good as it provides more than 300 connectors, I haven't used all of them but it's a good option
Datorama is a well balanced data visualization or business intelligence tool. If your organization has the budget and is just establishing such a tool then I would suggest this over others in the marketplace especially if the analyst isn't a senior as they have an excellent support team. Datorama should be able to meet the needs of most companies as their visualizations can be used out of the box or customized with css/html/js code. Additionally, if a data stream connector is not readily available then there are options to create a custom stream
Data Visualization: Data can easily be viewed in the Dashboard, where you can pull quick insights & easily understand them.
Report Customization: The platform allows for easy customization of reports, with a variety of metrics that can be pulled from any data source/ad server.
Reporting Templates: Going along with the above, you can also save custom reports as templates to use in the future.
The dashboards could use more interactivity, especially for lower-level users. Simple filters can be added to dashboards, but still lag behind the abilities of other BI tools.
The filtering logic for data within the dashboards could be more robust. We've run into use cases where it's difficult to include or exclude specific data when needed.
It is the simplest and least expensive way for us to automate our reporting at this time. I like the ability to customize literally everything about each report, and the ability to send out reports automatically in emails. The only issue we have been having recently is a technical glitch in the automatic email report. Sadly, there is almost no support for this tool from Google, but is also free, so that is important to take into consideration
Google Data Studio has a clean interface that follows a lot of UX best practices. It is fairly easy to pick up the first time you use it, and there is a lot of documentation on line to help troubleshoot, if needed
I give it a lower support rating because it seems like our Dev team hasn't gotten the support they need to set up our database to connect. Seems like we hit a roadblock and the project got put on pause for dev. That sucks for me because it is harder to get the dev team to focus on it if they don't get the help they need to set it up.
Google Data Studio provides a great feature set considering its price point, especially when compared to commercial options from Microsoft and Tableau. While it may not be as versatile when it comes to working with and developing complex datasets, there is enough charm in its simple, easy-to-use UI to allow not-so-complex analytics to be conducted without having to hire a data analyst.
I have had the chance to use Tableau and Datorama over the last 4 years. I think that Datorama is much more user friendly and easier to create visualizations compared to Tableau. I also think it is easier to share these dashboards in Datorama compared to the options that Tableau offers.
I would say we have had positive impacts. Initially we used excel for reporting, but it was not so user friendly, it did not have dynamic reporting and ease of sharing options. We were able to get analyze the data deeply and have dynamic reports with Data studio. Also, with the reports we were able to identify where we were going down, where we were performing badly.
