Loom is perfect if you do anything on a computer or phone and you need to document it. Rather than firing up another screen recording tool, recording your video, then downloading the file and uploading it to Youtube THEN sharing that link (my old workflow)—I can now just press one button, select the area of my screen I want to record, record my video, and send it within seconds. No extra software or steps.

SalesLoft

SalesLoft is well suited for sales reps like me who email and make calls frequently throughout the day. I would also recommend this tool to those of us who want to organize their activities and regularly set up touchpoints for reach-outs in the future. It is much easier to use SalesLoft to automate processes than having 1000 sticky notes or planner reminders that help you remember to email or call someone. It is also a HUGE lifesaver when booking meetings because you can send availability with a few clicks and set default calendar messages, right in the tool.

Pros

Loom

  • Integrated right into Chrome - If I want to make a screen-capture video of a particular window in Chrome, I just start the Loom extension from within that window. It automatically records the entire window, my audio, computer audio and/or my video camera. In other words, it makes recording a screen capture video fast and almost automatic.
  • I like that it automatically saves it to my Loom account profile and also provides a URL I can send to people. I think the utility of this feature is pretty obvious. The sequence is 1. Start loom 2. click the RECORD button 3. record 4. click the STOP button 5. copy and paste the URL which loom automatically generates.
  • The way they have chosen to provide online organizing of my videos is pretty well executed. I can create folders and move related videos into those folders. This becomes really important when you start creating a lot of videos.

  • SalesLoft integrates with Salesforce & other sales applications like Linkedin Sales Navigator very well to provide insights & information on prospects or customers as part of the outreach when in Salesloft & emailing/messaging.
  • Salesloft provides additional add-ons and features like Owler & CrystalKnows to provide more insights into companies & prospects and how to either speak to them or discuss pertinent information with them.
  • Salesloft makes it easy to use it's outreach/emails with simple ways to import clients via csv or has ways to easily integrate into Sfdc to sync data and to provide visibility into duplicate prospects or clients as well. If there was only a way to filter out duplicate cadences & having contacts only be able to be part of one cadence at a time would be great.

Loom

  • Settings could be more configurable - I rarely want my face on the video. Every time I need to turn it off... ideally this could be a setting to have it disabled by default.
  • The UI while recording could be improved. I often forget the keyboard shortcuts, and a simpler red button floating on the screen or somethign would be great to stop the recording simply as needed.
  • The desktop app (in beta) overrides some standard keyboard shortcuts in OSX, which is frustrating.

SalesLoft

  • The Salesforce integration has never worked exactly as I'd like it to, leading to several frustrations. The product and customer success team have been diligent addressing concerns and talking through product updates, but I don't feel the core problem has been addressed. Essentially, SalesLoft maintains a separate database of contact and account records imported via the integration from Salesforce. This means that when a contact is updated in Salesforce, it may not automatically update in SalesLoft, meaning company names can be incorrect, contacts can be attached to the wrong account, and so on. My best practice is typically to just reimport (and therefore force an update) of any contacts I want to reach out to from Salesforce.

Loom is a very good product which has many different use cases that help us to keep our products supported, allow our products to be sold, and allow us to talk with one another in the company. There are not many glaring issues with Loom that would hold me back from continuing to use this service but the main question will be how they stack up with the other video products on the market and their direct competition.

Loom is one of the easiest software solutions that I've used. Their Chrome extension is very intuitive and I hear that the desktop app is phenomenal. Once you've stopped the recording, the video is instantly available to share via the link that Loom provides you. The recipient only needs to click on the link and click 'play' on the Loom landing page. So easy.

SalesLoft is a fantastic product that will be extremely helpful to any Sales Rep looking to organize their information and stay one step ahead. While it has its shares of quirks and bugs it proves to be an awesome tool for anyone that is in the sales industry.

It is the best platform that I have come across that does exactly what I want it to do when I want it to do it. It is there when I need it (browser extension) and hidden when I don't. I have never had an issue with the service and find it to be one of the most convenient tools to use when an email or Slack won't suffice.

I use Loom for simple tasks. Never used customer support really. It's so simple to use. I haven't had any real issue with Loom which would require customer support to help me out. So I just put 5 because I don't know if the customer support is good or bad since I never used, so I'm kind of neutral.

For desktop recordings, I've only used Quicktime. Loom is overall a nicer looking and functioning tool for recording videos, although there are a couple tools that Quicktime has (like splicing videos and selecting a specific recording size) that I wish Loom had

SalesLoft

SalesLoft is a competitor to InsideSales.com. I love the native integrations InsideSales provides, but I more love the account based targeting that SalesLoft better supports. If you want a more direct integration where you can use automation features within Salesforce, InsideSales is much better. But if you need more automation and not caring if it's native or not in SFDC, SalesLoft is much better
