I enjoy the ease of use of the system from logging in to inputting your information. The ability to be able to tag an employee if they are waiting on a task to be completed is a nice function. Previously we were tracking this in excel and only one person could be in the checklist at a time without causing errors. With Monday.com, multiple users can be in the checklist at any given time with no issues.

Workfront

This software works great to track your KPI's and to update and monitor your progress on any assignments that are assigned to your and projects you are working on. For simple to-dos and assignments and tasks, etc. it's really effective with a pick list of choices to choose from to update the status, upload files, log hours work, comment, etc. and inform business stakeholders requesting on the progress of a given workfront request it is less appropriate when it comes too it being complex at first, especially if you don't have any training. Like anything newly learned, it takes time and if you're not experienced with project management software you may find yourself in a bit of frustration using it.

  • This may already exist - but I would love a video that tells us about all the latest features.
  • I would recommend a cheaper plan for single-person use (or perhaps for a family?) I could see a teacher using this for their classroom planning.
  • A group for similar companies to connect with each other and share their use-cases would be awesome! I haven't seen any other property mgmt companies on here, but I would love to chat with any that might also be using Monday.
  • The ability to upload an excel spreadsheet *after* you've made the board and set up the automation & integrations. This would be a great time-saver for us.

  • I'd like for us to be able to pull reports that are a bit more customized. For example, I want to pull a report that enables me to see what task went past due first to see where and how we can improve. That report currently exists but unfortunately, it pulls in every other task that is past due in the project...instead of me just being able to pinpoint where we start to lose time.
  • I'd like to be able to "pin" documents and Updates within a Portfolio for easy reference when looking at a project as a whole.

All that I've said already is why. I suppose the clearest way to say it is that at this point? I cannot imagine running the 300+ active projects in eMarketing without AtTask; it simply wouldn't be possible and even more; I wouldn't imagine why we'd try to find an alternative tool when we have one meeting our needs.

The UI makes the app feel like it is a less capable system, most controls and interfaces seem unprofessional.Several features make no impact on my workflow, namely the inbox. Some of the UI elements take more screen real estate than they need. The sidebar for example: I'm on a project with 5 boards and I really don't think an entire sidebar is needed to display those, I usually collapse the sidebar because it gets in my way.The task detail view is also a bit odd to me. The only relevant information on it is the task title, but if you want to know the status, ID, author, or anything else about a task you will have to go back to the board view because the detailed view won't have those fields available.

I gave a rating of 10 on overall usability because Workfront is cloud based and very easy to use. Workfront also provides collaboration on projects which is critical to a projects success. The tool gives everyone high level visibility in their projects down to the smallest detail. Wonderful project management system, allows you to cut down on emails, meetings and no more spreadsheets for tracking your projects.

I give Workfront a TEN! When I have had an issue, the response time has been quick. The tech support team has always resolved any issues that I report. For the performance of the Workfront system you can go to trust Workfront to receive daily updates as to the status of the servers. When the system acts sluggish I check here to see if there are any performance issues. If there is an issue they let you know they are working on asap. I have been working in Workfront for 2 years and this has happened three times and has been resolved within 30 minutes, and the system has only went down one time and it was for only 25 minutes, once I reported to the tech team, they were already working on the issue to get it resolved. They are awesome, and hat's off to the whole Workfront team!

We didn't actively ask for support for monday.com, but they had automated emails with tools and things for us to consider as we started monday.com. Other than that, I wouldn't be able to speak into the overall support of monday.com. They weren't really proactive during the trial period, but rather were trying to get me to sign up for a monthly plan.

It would be nice if the support forms were more dynamic so you could add more information to the support ticket when you enter it to reduce back and forth with the support team member. Also communication on escalated tickets isn't always great. It's gotten better over the years but still needs improvement. Other than that, initial response on support tickets is really quick and the people I've dealt with have always been very professional.

We signed up for the accounts. Created the accounts. Ran the trial version and tested it live while we were running multiple projects and found that it was fitting our needs perfectly. When the trial ended and we were asked to purchase the full version, we did. We have found other ways to use it and it's a breeze.

Alternatives Considered

monday.com

ClickUp is a competitor but Monday's design is much better and user experience is superior. Also, export functions are a class above those of ClickUp. Asana is trying to compete with a lot more project management apps by picking the best features and making them available to users. In this regard, it is somewhat better than Monday and can perform most if not all the functions of Monday but it comes down to personal preference and pricing in the end.

Workfront

Workfront lands in the middle between MS Project and Basecamp. Basecamp was too simplistic and didn't provide enough core project / task management features. MS Project was too rigid and difficult to share project information. Workfront has the right mix of project / task management features and project visibility.

Workfront's overall scalability is able to handle increased loads of work.   • Thirty US dollars + per month, per user, can get a bit pricey for the mid-size business. I am not sure what their enterprise business pricing is, however, I imagine the ROI is well worth it as many corporations I have worked for use Workfront for both project management as well as timesheet tracking.
