Likelihood to Recommend For any Managed Service Provider (MSP) that offers backups services to its clients, Cloudberry MBS is a winning solution. It is fast, powerful, flexible and priced to provide room for decent profit margins for the MSP. MSP's that handle clients so large that they need Appliance-based backups and recovery will need more sophisticated (read pricier) solutions, but for the vast majority of customers that have 1-10 servers, CloudberryLab MBS is an excellent solution.
Read full review Like most enterprise backup applications, Symantec NetBackup (NBU) suffers from complexity. Using and understanding advanced features can be challenging at times. Real world experience is needed to know if they are worth the time to implement. On the other hand I have found NBU relativity easy to use with a little training from just a simple backup scheduling and restore perspective.
Read full review Pros Great management panel from the web. You can add and configure existing backup plans without access to the endpoint server. You can limit cloud usage for customers and servers. You can transfer entire servers or virtual machines to cloud. You can backup files, disks, or virtual machines to local and cloud locations. Read full review Upgrades are typically easy and normally have either no issues or very few that are easily resolved (wait a month or 2 before upgrading) Using accelerator for the vm environment works well, and file level restores have been successful Full vm recovery has worked every time Backing up a physical server and restoring to a vm works as described GRT Exchange backups are pretty easy, to setup File level restores are simple Read full review Cons Message errors are hard to understand Should add a general interface to manage all accounts, not a specific interface for every account. The new backup formats enhancements should be available for all cloud storage companies. More focus with Wasabi would be great because of their focus on storage and low prices. I am using it at three different sites to backup their mission critical file servers and it works great. It is a very cost effective backup solution that is easy to setup and use and the support is also very good. I would recommend it to anyone that needs a good backup solution for their business.
Read full review Veritas continues to keep up with the backup game. There virtual machine backup capabilities are now top notch, and I believe they will prove valuable when our cloud presence demands a backup solution.
Read full review Usability The screens are very easy to understand and very detailed. I have not had any issues finding what I was looking for or understanding what options to use to create my backups. Read full review Support Rating I have not had to reach out to their support. However, when we were elvaluating options and looking at MSP360, their reps did a great job. They were able to answer our questions quickly, andf had a real understanding of their product and all the ways that it could be deployed.
Read full review Veritas support is very prompt and the acknowledgement/followup is hugely appreciable. They go deep to the issue and provide you satisfactory solutions. Creating ticket in portal is also very easy, does not adhere to severity priority, even if Sev2 response is very quick.
Read full review Implementation Rating Easy and successful implementation and the results have been very good with no issues since the install and go live. I highly recommend Cloudberry Backup software to anyone needing an easy to install, setup and manage backup solution. Excellent product with great features and reliability at a very good price point.
Read full review Alternatives Considered We have looked into other backup providers, but it has all come down to value for the dollar. While some providers are more polished or have better name brand recognition, MSP360 has all the core components and is just as strong of a platform for considerably fewer investment costs. MSP360 is also much more MSP centric in that they allow MSPs to operate with reselling the platform without breaking the bank and being much more competitive to prospective clients than the other larger backup providers.
Read full review CrashPlan has the capability to sync data with a cloud storage source. This is great for a workstation where data is typically only for one user. However, Netbackup does a much better job for maintaining multiple levels of file restores for Enterprise Servers. Netbackup has a superior management console that does not rely on Cloud services in the event of an internet outage.
Read full review Contract Terms and Pricing Model Veritas NetBackup is very expensive , and I think price is the main reason which some customers don't want to use this solution. The price is fair. Most people have felt this solution was somewhat expensive. licensing model is based on the number of NetBackup clients, agents, servers, and options that NetBackup will be protecting or run on . A customer purchases the same number of licenses as the count of clients, agents, servers, and options.
Read full review Professional Services Read full review Return on Investment Since switching from Mozy Pro to Cloudberrylab four years ago, our ROI has been extremely positive. The reliability of the product has improved significantly such that we do not need to dedicate much staff time to monitor/manage the backups on a daily basis. By designating a backup specialist within our organization tasked with keeping up with the latest features, testing restores, and fixing any issues that arise with client backups, we have a high level of efficiency and can respond to restore requests in a very short timeframe. We have been able to lower the per GB price to our customers and still maintain our overall profitability for our backup service Read full review We never experienced a significant system or data loss during the time we used NetBackup. We restored individuals files and small databases based upon user mistakes, but we never had to implement a DR plan. From that aspect, it is difficult to evaluate the ROI. Backups are a commodity service. Features are very similar across multiple tools. Once you decide to stay on-prem or move to the cloud, the list of options are narrowed. Then it becomes a matter of price. From an administration and support perspective, the ROI is low. Vendor technical support is not always responsive. The first two tiers of support are not knowledgeable and their typical recommendation is to read the white paper. My small team spent a lot of time troubleshooting NetBackup, often without much vendor help. Read full review ScreenShots MSP360 Managed Backup Screenshots
