Best suited to processing large volumes of social media mentions. As with any social analysis tool, a degree of expertise and understanding of social media platforms, audience trends etc. is important to get the most out of the tool, so an "expert user" approach should be prioritised over making it accessible to lots of people with minimal training. The pricing model is particularly suitable for a small number of users who are likely to be looking at a large number of brands/topics.

Cyfe is good for businesses that manage multiple websites, email campaigns and social media accounts for multiple clients, as it allows you to easily pull stats and visualize them all in one place. Make one account for each client and ask Cyfe to grab the metrics that are most meaningful to your campaigns, then you can share your dashboards with your clients, or like us, use Cyfe's visualizations to create aesthetically pleasing reports for clients to read.

  • Cyfe makes it easy to create a professional looking dashboards in a short amount of time. With so many built-in data sources and the intuitive nature of the interface, you can have beautiful looking charts and graphs in no time!
  • One of the best features of Cyfe is the many data sources built-in and that each dashboard is not constrained to one source. One of the drawbacks I've seen in other tools is the limited ability to pull from multiple Google Analytics profiles, multiple AdWords accounts or from both AdWords and Bing in one dashboard. Cyfe has no such limitation.
  • Google Spreadsheets - if the data you need to show is not available via an API, being able to pull from Google spreadsheets is a great solution. Once set up, you can add data whenever you need to the spreadsheet and your widgets in the Cyfe dashboard are automatically updated. Huge time saver!

  • NetBase has implemented many changes recently, but did not keep us informed. A newsletter or something like that would help.
  • I noticed a couple of problems with the data, but I was told they were due to "glitches" which was not very helpful.
  • We find a lot of repeats of the same exact posts, which seems odd and skews the data.

We've had a good experience using the tool and have invested quite a bit of time training the internal team on how to get the most benefit out of it. There would need to be a compelling reason or business case to port over all of our existing topics and tool know-how to another platform.

You can easily create attractive and functional dashboards in less than 5 minutes so the learning curve is minimal at most. Out-of-the-box capabilities are quite high for such a low priced service, so it's surprising how easy it is to use.

Its fast and gives you the ability to create standardized reports for a quick topic analysis. Additionally, the standard overview tab provides the topic at a glance and assists in quickly identifying areas to further analyze. Great product with excellent support behind it!

We've used several different social media tools, and Netbase is by far the best. It's easy to understand (after a topic is set up), easy to export and looks very clean for client presentations. With Radian 6, we got a word cloud, but had to create any other graphs and visuals by hand since they only exported to an Excel. It was the same with Simply Measured, the reporting was just ugly and unpresentable to clients. Visible Intelligence was just inaccurate, and kept pulling in spam posts that were full of porn

Klipfolio probably had a lot of cool features, but it was SO user-UNfriendly that we never got to use them. We had high enough turnover in our company that people always needed Klipfolio training, and it was rarely completed to the satisfaction of trainees or trainers. It was simply too complicated for a fast-paced work environment. Even one of my regular duties (posting a screenshot of a completed task list) had to be accomplished in a roundabout, unwieldy way.
