Likelihood to Recommend We continue to remain the only professional baseball team that utilizes NOVAtime for our scheduling of staff, mostly because it was designed to schedule hospital workers. The lag time when updating the ASM is extremely time consuming and the inability to work in multiple internet tabs or windows makes it that much more inefficient. I am sure it is a fantastic system for other organizations but it continues to be a challenge for us.
Read full review As mentioned, Paylocity is great as a payroll service for getting employees paid and also for them to get information using their self-service. Definitely could be improvements in the ATS/recruiting piece of the plaform. Paylocity is a payroll first platform and recruiting is an add-on, so the functionality is not as good as it is with stand-along ATS.

Read full review Cons There does need to be more support and knowledge when it comes to alternate workweek schedule types (9/80, etc.), as there have been a few unique challenges with those. Read full review As a super admin in Paylocity, I would like the ability to not just archive items, but delete them completely. We would like to clean-up the space and get rid of some of the default items we do not use. Not necessarily an issue, but for those people who have ever created an event packet in the on-boarding module know my struggle. It is not completely user friendly. I would like to see a preview of what the employee would see before launching the packets to new hires. Benefits. When I change a new hire in the system before they have elected their benefits, it takes at least 24 hours to show up and doesn't always allow them to launch their open enrollment. Read full review Likelihood to Renew The overall satisfaction within the organization has been luke warm, at best. The software may be more conducive for a hospital but I believe there is a reason why we are the lone baseball team utilizing it.
Read full review We have had many issues with the way our platform was set up at implementation that still continue to plague us. In addition, our benefits, in particular our FSA, have been mis-managed causing a balance due from an employee (and also a lot of work for our accounting and HR team, as well as stress for the employee). Our service rep continues to answer incorrectly on many fronts (original response is usually check out this paylocity article, vs. helping) and recently our COBRA management was mishandled (not adding Dental to a person on Cobra who had requested it). So- all in all...we are not particularly happy w/ Paylocity
Read full review Usability On the employee's side of things, Novatime is pretty intuitive and fairly easy to use. All they have to do is either press a button to punch in or punch out. If they are entering in their hours, all they have to do is type in the number of hours per day. On the manager's side of things, Novatime is also fairly easy to use. It highlights in red any missed punches and in green any OT that the employee has. There are links on the homepage of the manager's page that will lead them to a list of all their employees' missed punches for a pay period and they can fix them all before payroll is due. Novatime becomes a bit more complicated on the administrator's side. The issues I have run into with Novatime normally come after updates/upgrades to their system. They have been getting better, but the administrator's side is still a bit clunky and takes a while to find what you are looking for. It is not as intuitive as the other sides and takes a bit of computer knowledge to figure it out.
Read full review Overall, in my experience, Paylocity has been easy to use for both staff and administrators. First, the staff has an application and inputting Paid Time Off is easy to do. I then get an alert on my app and I am able to approve it on the spot from my app that gives me access as an employee and an administrator without having to use multiple apps or logins. As an administrator I think the portal is easy to use, Paylocity did a great job showing me tools and rolling out training classes before rollout.

Read full review Support Rating The program itself can be customized in many different ways to meet the needs of the company/organization that it is working with. The charts/graphs on the new homepage are somewhat helpful and link to useful information. It has some really nice scheduling features that allow managers to see the difference between hours expected to work and actual hours worked as well as overtime, absences, and non-scheduled shifts. Processing payroll is quite simple. PTO request off is straightforward.
Read full review Everyone wants immediate assistance. Awaiting a response from an email only to ask 2-3 more questions is time consuming. Within the first six months of setup, I would rather respond back to the instructors who provided me the training in each category of my contract.
Read full review Online Training The training was live online, but was with a group of other companies. We did not receive any personalized training with our team. Whenever we would ask for training, we would be sent a peak article link or a video. It felt like the reps we dealt with didn't know the answer to the questions.
Read full review Implementation Rating I had gone through an implementation process of another HR platform (Paycom) in my previous job and was traumatized, it was painful. I was surprised how easy and fast it was with Paylocity, the team was very helpful and set us up for success
Read full review Alternatives Considered The product is easy to use, and everyone picks up on it quickly. It is less expensive, and has more to offer than any other product I’ve found.

Paycom was we received better reviews on their customer support. I have used
Paycom with other companies and found that it is decent software. Of course, any HRIS software is going to beat out QBs. QBs do not do well with groups of employees over 250.

Read full review Return on Investment We have had a few scenarios where the PTO accrual dropped off and it did take 3 attempts of reaching out to customer service to get it sorted. The customer service team has collaborated with me in creating new PTO categories to automate certain needs to save me some time. Read full review Onboarding has reduced the paperwork that managers had previously had to take care of and payroll had to manually enter. This has significantly reduced hours of work and reduced errors. Data insights creates reports that are very easy to view and give quick insights. This again reduces hours of work on management. The ease of use for uploading payroll is minutes instead of hours at other companies. Overall, a huge time saver. Read full review ScreenShots
