Oracle Cloud EPM vs. Tipalti

It is well suited in a geographically distributed environment where you have various key participants in multiple time zones providing input and necessary explanations on performance and measured success It is less appropriate where you have a single office environment with a single finance department working together. It is also less suited when the GL is NOT an Oracle product and the interface between the GL and the reporting software needs to be implemented with utmost care and handling.

Signing up new vendors for the coming year, we were able to promote to Tipalti’s quick payment system for our contractors. We walked them through setting up an account and it was very easy to send each vendor a link to the sign-up page. We were able to keep in contact with our contractors on the status of payments and easily find the information. Ability to offer faster payments was well received and a vast improvement over last year. I like the fact that each vendor can go in and set up their own account. That way they can view the status of their invoices and retrieve their payment information

• Account Reconciliation CLoud Services provides tight integration with Oracle R12 and 11i . Provides drillback capability. It is flexible and provides rich functionality to users.
• We have implemented ARCS on cloud and migrated planning and budgeting from On premise to PBCS and EPBCS. Functionality is onpar with onpremise. Provides regular updates monthly
• We don't need to upgrades every year and saved a lot on Hardware.

• Tipalti simplifies the vendor payment process on our end. We send one wire to Tipalti and they send out from there based on the vendor registration, instead of our AP having to manage and process multiple types of payments.
• Tipalti enhances the security around payment details and vendor registrations. It's critical nowadays to protect banking details, and Tipalti puts the onus on the vendor to manage and secure their details instead of us bearing the burden for managing their remittance.
• Tipalti simplifies the bill processing time and effort. Our AP can go into the bills pending review and simply go down the list for final touches and send for approval, rather than having to go gather from various emails/locations and do the entire process by hand.

• The limitation of constrained out of the box dimensions that requires ripping the initial implementation to add the new dimensions is a major drawback.
• Smartview interface is cumbersome for many.
• The only financial adapter is available for integration for other modules we have to go with file-based uploads which is cumbersome and not real-time.
• It is very costly in terms of licensing unlike other Oracle products.

• They have shut down payments on key vendors who had attempted to update their address. I would rather they notify us so we can resolve with the vendor without delaying payments.
• Many of the notifications we get do not include the vendor number. This leads us to have to get in touch with the vendor just to obtain a vendor ID before taking the notice any further.
• There can be delays up to half hour from the time we wire funds to our Tipalti account and when they become available to use. They have an early deadline, 11 PST that requires some accommodation to get payments out on time.

We have a pretty good userbase who are at the high level who gained value from this tool. Discontinuing this tool is prone to impact their day to day operations. Also the data in this tool cannot alter the source, which maintains the integrity of this tool. Smartview is a cool addition that gained lot of traction as well.

Tipalti developed a workflow us that has improved our efficiency in onboarding vendors and processing payments. They also ensure that we have all the required tax forms from the vendor before a payment goes out.

The payment system is not so great right now. On the other hand, I don't think Tipalti is good for us to take care of customers in Asia, Middle East or Europe. It's only good for Customer in North American right now.

Support from our implementation partner is a 10/10, but support from Oracle is awful. Case in point: recently over a 2-day period, there were a series of intermittent outages. Oracle actually asked US for the outage time-stamps. I would have thought that, since we were paying them, they should probably be able to tell us!

Since I also work in customer support, I often have to contact Tipalti's team with questions from our users. Tipalti's support team has always been exceptionally helpful and it was a pleasure to communicate with them. I have always received prompt responses to any inquiries and they are excellent at solving our customers' issues within a short time

I suggest doubling the time to implement from the initial quote you get from the Sales team. That's always been the case for me for multiple EPMs now. The out-of-the-box functionality of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is pretty robust so I appreciate that and it really helped us get the ball rolling quickly.

Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud fared very well against Adaptive, Anaplan, and Host Analytics. We ultimately decided on Oracle due to its reputation and strength of existing customers. We are happy with our decision.

I've previously used an SAP platform for AP functionality. SAP has great reports that can be downloaded, but the function in the application can be very bulky and slow or in short a bad UI. Tipalti has an incredible UI that enables the users to make all edits right in the platform instead of taking analysis offline to an excel file.

We were given the option of only one integration.

• Significantly reduced the amount of money we spent for the maintenance of in-house hardware.
• We now need less employees to manage the configurations of Oracle EPM Cloud.
• There have been many time savings as a whole to apply to more productive causes.

• We have taken away the manual process of sending out payments via various methods (PayPal, wires, checks, ACH, etc.) ourselves and now just send the bill directly to Tipalti which handles all the payments. This saves employees' time.
• The onboarding process is much more streamlined since Tipalti collects all of the tax form information.
• Our clients appreciate the transparency of the processing fee costs and getting emails when payments are sent.
• Better security for our clients as they get an email alert when there are changes to the account and sensitive information is kept secure.
