Oracle
We are a publicly-traded healthcare company with over 50000 full-time and part-time employees. We also currently have about 15000 contingent workers in our workforce. Oracle Cloud ERP is very well suited for an enterprise our size. Our financial department relies heavily on Oracle cloud ERP for daily business functions like procurement, supply chain, accounts reconciliation, ledgers, payables, receivables, and supply chain logistics. The executive team uses this system for project management and our risk assessment and management department for Compliance, risk management portfolio.

Two specific features that make Wrike a good fit for my department (which oversees our organization's print media) are blueprints and "add version." Blueprints save and recreate details like tasks, length for each task, assignee, etc. so they will automatically repopulate when creating a new project. We use blueprints for recurring projects like our monthly newsletter. All we need to do is enter the new end date and new title for the newsletter; Wrike automatically reschedules the individual tasks and notifies the assignees. With the "add version" feature, we can keep track of all the versions of a given document while clearly seeing which is the most recent. It helps keep our editing process orderly.

Pros
Oracle
  • I no longer need VPN to login into the ERP cloud system.
  • I no longer need Java app required for form based application.
  • Data uploading feature using excel was highly required as it makes user life easy.
  • The application is self explanatory and easy to use.

  • Users enter their art and communications requests through forms previously created by my department so that we can work on them in the order they are received.
  • I manage large projects in Wrike where I can receive real-time feedback on each individual project without losing track, as in an email.
  • At the end of the year, I love that I can find out how many tasks I completed, how many were closed, how many were canceled, etc. What I like the most is that it allows me to keep a real-time track of time for each project. This motivates me to be more organized with my work.
  • It also allows me to collaborate with other team members in separate spaces based on project types, where everyone can contribute.
  • I also assign tasks to the person who is assisting me as an intern.

Cons
Oracle
  • Wide localization process.
  • Automated (without a human) business operations, better rpa solutions, scanning, mobile app, etc
  • Central systems for the company re using more than one erp systems.
  • Better reporting tools
  • Developer source also not such enough maybe to support them in each (in their market) countries.
  • Price policy also

  • Request forms could use a custom numbered prefix feature automatically keeping count and adding the next number in the line for each task created via a specific form.
  • A Mass "find and replace" feature for task titles would help when needing to rename existing tasks titles.
  • Ability to add in a request from to be completed inside another request from.
  • Blueprint feature where options can be specified inside a blueprint and when "create from" is selected, these options are available to select which determines the blueprint structure created.
  • Add an "effort" input into request forms, automatically adding the entered effort into the task's effort tab. Currently, you have to manually go and fill that in, which is not viable for a mass amount of tasks getting created daily.

Oracle ERP cloud is a significant investment for our company. It will be an ongoing software cost and there's no looking back on that. Our users have become very accustomed to this tool that it is not practically feasible to rip them off from this system. So yes we will continue to renew the subscription going forward.

Usability

Because as I said before, there are some good and some bad things. But good things seem to be more than the bad, and the bad things I personally think are going to be solved quickly, maybe with some patches over time.

Wrike was pretty straightforward to use once you got logged in and got a crash course on how to use it. Once I was able to get my own dashboard set up for all my different tasks/tickets/projects, I was able to go to one place for all my incoming work. If I ever had any questions, my co-worker who implemented Wrike for us either already knew the answer or would find the answer for us. I had email notifications set up for any new tickets as well, but sometimes my dashboard would get updated before I got my email. Either way, I was able to keep track of what needed to get done and knew what was the most pressing ticket to get done

Reliability and Availability
Oracle
The application is used by big banks like HSBC is a testament to its reliability. I did not hear or experience any outages.Oracle is in the hosting business since long. In its previous avatar, it used to be called as Oracle on demand. So oracle has enough experience and expertise in hosting and managing customers applications in their datacenters. Oracle is the only major company which has platform as a service, database as a service and software as a service product offerings on the cloud.Hence customers can rely on Oracle as many major fortune 500 companies do.

Over two years of (almost) daily usage without outages. Don't remember any errors. I give it 9 only because some Wrike plugins (for online document edit) are based on NPAPI architecture. These types of plugins are being phased out in new browsers, and NPAPI plugins are disabled by default in recent versions of Chrome so you have to do some browser adjustments when you switch browsers or move to another computer.

Performance
Oracle
Cloud performance is something that they need to improve. Also it is not consistent. Sometimes for some users it is slow while for others it is fast. This is frustrating for users especially when they are in the middle of what they are doing. We communicated this to Oracle and they suggested to submit request for environment re-sizing. But again this we think should be a proactive effort from Oracle rather than relying on customers to reach out. This is something Oracle definitely needs to work on.

Support is always providing step by step details to resolve any issue we encounter. We initially had online training. A trainer took us through various training sessions where we learned about all of the tools Wrike provides. This alone allowed us to learn and set up the software and roll it out to our team. Later, a customer service rep stopped in for some one on one training which was extremely helpful.

Online Training
Oracle
We bought online training subscription from Oracle University. The subscription allowed our team to learn the nuts and bolts of the application. The subscription model helps access to all the modules as opposed to buying training for one module. We also leveraged guided learning subscription from Oracle. Guided learning is a state of the art learning application from Oracle. It resides within the application and guides the users on each and every step. This is learning by doing and is very effective. Once you buy guided learning, oracle keeps updating it with the release of new functionality in the quarterly upgrades.

Implementation Rating

Try to use the system as true to generic form as possible and cut over quickly. Parallel implementation is not recommended. If the numbers are accurate and materially similar to prior period - cut over. A small accounting adjustment is much better than millions in project overruns or dual system maintenance.
