I think it is well suited for organizations which are large with a lot of users so as to be able to minimize the cost of operations. Also, the organization which interacts mostly with customers can use Oracle CRM on demand.

Pardot

I found Pardot really powerful and versatile. We didn't use the Drip Automation feature as much as I would have liked, but that's just because we didn't have many use cases to justify it. We were able to build out a complex custom CSS for our email templates and appreciated the rendering capabilities that allowed us to preview how our CSS would display across all the most popular browsers and mobile platforms.

  • Application customization is a key strength. We can create custom home page experiences for each type of user, customize object layouts to change dynamically depending on object type, and create an embedded sales process unique to our organization that helps facilitate the user through the process by specifying required fields dependent on what stage of the process they are in. The ability to customize goes directly to the success of user adoption - the fact that we can customize layouts and processes to support our internal business processes helps users make the most of the system.
  • Robust Reporting. The reporting and data warehouse capabilities are excellent. We have thousands of custom reports delivered in a number of ways - on home pages, on dashboards, on demand through the reporting menu, and on custom web tabs. These reports range from simple lists to complex multi-object analyses.
  • Ability to get data in and get data out. CRMOD makes it very easy to import data into any object. This is helpful for importing lists or making mass changes. Exporting data is equally easy, both from an administrator standpoint and for the user. Users can display a list or do a custom advanced search and then easily export the data to Excel without any admin help. They can also export from any report, which is helpful when sales data needs to be combined with other financial data in a larger analysis.
  • The system's workflow capabilities allow us to improve field validation, send important notifications, and enforce business process requirements.

  • Pardot syncs with our database, Salesforce and works seamlessly in updating records with individuals. Having this sync allows everyone in the organization to know where the last communication was and where they stand.
  • Pardot's A/B testing is the easiest A/B testing to use and communicate differently with individuals based on reporting. You are able to test this A/B before sending out an email unlike other platforms. The A/B testing is time saving and effective when trying to communicate with our audience.
  • Pardot's engagement studio is very easy to not only set-up but to follow. They set up their engagement platform in a way that you can see it overall and follow it like a flow chart, allowing the creator to truly understand where the emails/individuals are doing. The reporting of the engagement studios is detailed and very accessible.

Cons

Oracle CRM On Demand

  • A scripting mechanism is needed to customize the data entry forms. As any data driven system, Oracle CRM on demand is as reliable as its data is. Having sales people entering and maintaining the data you have to make sure they are doing that and not cutting corners. One way to do that is to enforce the business requirements in the entry forms.
  • User interface / user experience definitely can and should be improved.
  • It needs a way to send automatic reports on a schedule via email.
  • Support: as usual the Oracle support tends to be tedious and lengthy.

  • Pricey. I work for a nonprofit so it was a big decision to go with Pardot but it is one of the best in its class.
  • You must have the capacity/time/resources to actually use the functionalities and features. Otherwise, it could be a waste of money.

As of right now we have not seen any other program that integrates as seamlessly into our Salesforce platform. We have barely scratched the surface of all the features and use cases. It would be irresponsible to make a move to another platform in the near future. We have not come up against any limitations that would prompt a need to switch

Once you dedicate the time to training to reach that crucial level of understanding however, it is easy to creatively apply the varied functionality of the program to address issues that would have previously seemed to mandate the use of another system.

Pardot's online training touches on all topics briefly and vaguely without much indepth exploration into how a final outcome could look, such as Nurturing Campaigns, Email templates, landing page templates, etc...The only true way to uncover Pardot's full capabilities is to have Front End design and coding experience. Without this key skill set, I would not recommend Pardot to another business.

Love the tool, so much easier to see what our visitors are doing, creating campaigns etc. One recommendation about forms in campaigns etc is to make sure the form is not shared between countries. To send out notifications to responsible, you should have one form per country or question.

Oracle app is more available on different mobile devices, Microsoft Dynamics has only Windows and Android but Oracle has both web-based, Mac, IOS. Social CRM feature is another one that Microsoft Dynamics doesn't provide. On the other hand, Microsoft Dynamics provides offline line access. Also, Oracle integrations fit our needs better. Also Ticketing system support is better.

We originally looked at both Marketo and Pardot for our marketing automation. They were considered to be almost identical products. The main reason for selecting Pardot was that we were already using salesforce and it made sense not to add too many different systems from different suppliers.

  • Pardot saves sales hundreds of hours per year by automating the lead follow-up.
  • Gives the Sales team more visibility into what their leads are doing.
  • Ultimately, sales and marketing would be a lot harder if we didn't have Pardot. It's the glue that pulls everything together, and the amount of work and data processing that goes on behind the scenes thanks to the platform means that our sales team can focus on conversations rather than email followup, lead grading, etc.
