Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
Haven't really used many other alternatives to Hubspot Marketing Hub though we use a similar tool that does not provide much of the marketing & abm campaign capabilities
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
My personal ranking for marketing automation is 1) Marketo, 2) Hubspot and 3) Eloqua. Hubspot is great for small businesses and even medium-sized business. Once you reach 500 or more, you're probably going to want Marketo. I wouldn't recommend Eloqua to any business that can't …

Chose Outreach
We decided to leverage Outreach originally because it fit our needs in terms of sending emails at scale while also integrating other solutions and activities recorded within our Salesforce solution. Salesforce integration was a very important factor because that is where our …
Chose Outreach
I would say that HubSpot is an effective tool, but I feel more in control of what I see, and how I use Outreach. The tools to effectively sequence and then follow up with gathered data is superior in Outreach.
Chose Outreach
Similar to HubSpot, I found Outreach to be a tad easier to use and simple to create sequences, manage tokens for canned responses, etc.
Chose Outreach
Hubspot and Salesloft are also great tools, unfortunately I don't have enough experience to make an effective comparison.
Chose Outreach
Well, I personally prefer HubSpot as it is a bit cleaner and less complex however HubSpot does not have the capability of calling every country and generating international numbers
Chose Outreach
  • The Outreach UI is more intuitive than any that we evaluated
  • Outreach structure is significantly more automated than competitors -- We have used Pardot, and their structuring of email sequences is difficult to do at scale
  • We have been working to build internal infrastructure off …
Chose Outreach
It's been a while since I last used HubSpot, but I mainly only used it to track if emails had been opened/unopened. I feel like Outreach is a lot more robust in its functionality.
Chose Outreach
Outreach is far and away the best I've used.
Chose Outreach
I tried many products like SalesLoft, HubSpot and ToutApp. The sequencing acapabilities, user permissions and other nuances that Outreach provides on top of how easy is it to access and understand the data, make it the best product in the market by far.
Chose Outreach
We selected Outreach after using ToutApp, then switching to SalesLoft.

The one thing we really liked was the bi-directional sync with Salesforce.com which saves our teams a lot of time (no more manual updates of lead/contact stages, etc.).
Chose Outreach
I would say Outreach is heading in an incredible right direction. They produce features quickly, provide tons of content and tutorials, and they have a mindset of constant progress. All of these aspects to me speak volumes about the company and the tool they provide.

HubSpot
As I said previously, I was not a fan at the beginning because, like everyone, I don't take change so well. Once I started following leads through HubSpot Marketing Hub, I integrated it with my email and created templates for what I needed, I started to see the positives immediately. My time working was better spent as I eliminated time put in routine tasks. I was able to track all communication in HubSpot Marketing Hub, we created systems in the office assigning tasks to one another and, through HubSpot Marketing Hub, our leads were able to book meetings in my calendar automatically. To be honest, if you are in sales and marketing, I cannot think of scenarios where HubSpot Marketing Hub cannot help. All I would like to say is, when using templates, pay attention to where you send them - you may need some personalization. I would encourage the management of HubSpot Marketing Hub to create short tutorials for beginners like me who need to configure and start using various features: setting up deals, templates, and dashboards.

Outreach
Outreach is well suited for teams that need to do cold outbound to prospects. It's easy enough to create sequences that will use a variety of touchpoints (email, inMail, call, etc...). It's also easy to share sequences with team members to collaborate and the very best messaging. Outreach's integration over Salesforce and Gmail is also invaluable, without it each team member would probably spend hours per week clicking between tabs just to get to prospect information On the other hand, Outreach is not the best to help you create content, as of this writing there is no AI support. It is also worth noting that Outreach's permission structure can create a lot of confusion for team members and that untangling errors at times can become complex

Pros
HubSpot
  • All-in-one software - the main thing HubSpot does well is the breadth of functionality.
  • Easy of use - personally, I find it more intuitive than Marketo, which is the other MAP that I know well.
  • Ads - I like that we can drill down on ads by channel, ad group, campaign, and even create and see performance data at each level.

Outreach
  • Organization - I know when to make calls/emails/LinkedIn connections without having to overthink anything.
  • Alignment - the colleagues I work with on my accounts can keep tabs on my activity so there is no redundancy or overcommunication.
  • Ease of use - all my contacts are in one place, and sending automated emails I have built in my sequences give me so much time back in my day.

Cons
HubSpot
  • While Hubspot has added some collaborative tools, I think this could improve. I'd like to see more options to comment on emails and ways of being able to share out changes as well as approval channels.
  • The ability to update ads via the calendar is pretty cumbersome. There's no good way to bulk edit or update. You have go into each one individually.
  • Real time edits would be nice. If you have multiple people working on the same thing, you'll get kicked out and your changes might not be saved.

Outreach
  • Customer Service - zero support for small - medium businesses.
  • Billing - billing is messy, and customer service for billing questions is pretty awful (if anyone is ever available).
  • Bounce Rates - our bounce rates are through the roof when using Outreach which isn't a problem we have with HubSpot or Pardot.

HubSpot
Our business relies on the HubSpot platform to manage our marketing, sales and CRM processes. HubSpot marketing automation helps us define our activities and streamlines them in a cohesive and efficient way. Without HubSpot, we will have to revert to the 'old way' of doing everything with a variety of disparate systems.

Usability
HubSpot
While there are some frustrating things that pop up unexpectedly ("wait... I can't do X?"), I have found HubSpot to be easy to use and extremely helpful to my daily work. The documentation is really good, and when it's not helpful, the support staff have been amazing.

Outreach
The ease of use for outreach is next to none. Everything is clearly explained, you can hop on a call with their support team whenever, and it effortlessly integrates into your computer. You can do everything you need sales related on it, and the learning curve is small. I'd recommend it as a first and last CRM.

Reliability and Availability
HubSpot
They have had issues with system availability over the course of days. Sometimes the system is unusable, other times updates simply take a long time to show up. It's better now but, from a reliaibility standpoint, HubSpot is not Salesforce.com yet. Still great software though.

Performance
HubSpot
With all the new features in HubSpot, the system can get a tad slow sometimes... That said, most of the time it is lightning fast and I have no problems. Because most of the integrations are API, they silently work in the background. I have not had trouble with lag due to HubSpot integration

During the few times I've needed it, HS support has been accessible, helpful and efficient. Often rolling up their sleeves to make changes for you as opposed to leaving you with a list of instructions to decipher on your own.

The overall support of Outreach has been great. Whenever I have a problem, they were quick to fix it and typically respond within one business day. I don't typically have many requests for support because a lot of my questions can be answered through their knowledge panel. They have been fantastic to work with overall.

In-Person Training
HubSpot
I did the 2-day classroom at HubSpot's corporate office in Cambridge. First off, it was amazing to see their corporate office in general. They have such a cool office environment. But it was also great to have the ability to learn in a workshop format with other HubSpot users and meet my Account Manager/ Inbound Marketing Consultant in person.

Online Training
HubSpot
I went through Inbound Marketing University in 2006. Great training and helped my transition from traditional (outbound) marketing to inbound marketing that I've been able to apply to a number of businesses from wastewater and water reuse, to professional services and SaaS. Share information of value to build awareness and trust. Answer customers' questions in a transparent way to generate more qualified leads. Understand the difference between a marketing qualified lead and a sales qualified lead and put together a lead nurturing program. Your sales and marketing efforts will see significant ROI.

Lots of attention from the Outreach training team, with a great willingness to customize to our needs. To be clear, you get out what you put in. If you don't work with them, you'll get cookie-cutter training. But we asked for a lot of customization, and they delivered what we asked for.

Implementation Rating
HubSpot
My biggest piece of advice for those who are implementing Hubspot is that you need to devote the time up front and learn how to use the product. Once you learn how to use Hubspot, it will be much more effective as well as much easier to use in the long run

Alternatives Considered
HubSpot
Other competing software such as Zoho and Boomtown may have more bells and whistles, but it is too cumbersome and has many parts that only advanced users can operate. With HubSpot, each function is within reach of the average agent. It doesn't overpromise and then makes you feel incompetent when you can't use it all...

Outreach
We found that Outreach was superior to Salesloft and Gong, and a better fit for our organization for the following reasons:
  • User interface and overall experience: it's just a cleaner platform and easier to work in than the other two.
  • Feature set: the other two tools had more bells and whistles, but sometimes less is more, and the core functionality of Outreach is preferable.
  • Integration with Salesforce
  • Price
  • Customer support and training options are superior on Outreach

Scalability
HubSpot
HubSpot is addressing this more and more. Currently you can assign tasks to designated sales teams, which grow as you grow. They've added free baseline products for those just getting started. These and more contribute to the scalability of HubSpot - so I gave it an 8 and am hoping for more in the future!

Return on Investment
HubSpot
  • HubSpot has helped us increased our lead generation.
  • HubSpot has allowed us to continue to grow our customer base without having to spend a ton of marketing dollars on advertising.
  • HubSpot has allowed our company to standardize our process and bring the company onto one platform for sales and marketing.

Outreach
  • The huge positive impact it had was the team not needing to spend as much time as disengaged opps as they were engaged ones. We were able to set sequences to work with them while the team could focus on generating new leads or converting Opps.
  • For an AE - post demo communication is important. With templates and snippets we could just click a few buttons and have a really nice email sent out with the relevant information and then the next several steps already planned out. This freed up time for us and even allowed us to take calls a lot sooner after demo's then before. For busy days this was very helpful.
