Very similar. I feel like Watchguard need to get a better foothold with people trusting the name in the endpoint space. It has pretty much everything S 1 does but it also provides so much more. Simple things like patch management and encryption are fantastic adding that deliver …
Chose Watchguard Endpoint Security
Compared to Webroot, where we came from before moving to WatchGuard EPDR, I can ensure we have reduced our maintenance time by 75%. False positives used to be a thing that consumed a lot of level 1 engineers' time and has nearly disappeared now. I can't really speak for other …
Chose Watchguard Endpoint Security
Only Malwarebytes comes close to the ease of use and minimal system resources used. The other two are absolute garbage to use and manage. Webroot slowed down my clients' PCs so much that I switched them to [Adaptive Defense 360] and they immediately noticed the difference. I …
Chose Watchguard Endpoint Security
SentinelOne is hard to setup and configure. Not easy to work with support. [Adaptive Defense 360 / WatchGuard EPDR]'s support and setup is much easier and I think [has] better protection.

WatchGuard Technologies
I have experience with Watchguard Endpoint Security (EPDR) with small companies of five or more endpoints to large companies with hundreds of endpoints and find it well-suited for both types and everything in between. However, it is particularly good for companies with lean IT departments due to the awesomely automated and intelligent tools it provides for quick investigation and response. Also, its automated white list approval process for unknown executables is extremely fast thereby reducing and sometimes even eliminating delays that could impair employee performance.

The software tends to do a good job of basic protection but is not the best for larger clients and is not as powerful as some others offered on the market today. The support is not the best either, have had a hard time getting assistance in the past trying to resolve issues.

Pros
WatchGuard Technologies
  • Centralized management makes monitoring simple.
  • Deployment is quick, easy, and automatable.
  • Zero Trust means exactly that - if a process is not KNOWN to be safe, it is blocked until evaluated.
  • IT managers can block or grant authority to override the automatic protection in case of the immediate need to allow a process known to be safe.

Cons
WatchGuard Technologies
  • As with any application of this nature, it can block processes or other suspected security risks that are actually safe.
  • While easy to use, it sometimes provides less learning opportunities for less experienced staff who are not as well-versed in these applications.

  • There are several configuration options for both end-point and DNS protection. Would like a more simple way to understand and validate settings.
  • Support is heavily video or FAQ based although you can submit a Support Ticket. Would like more availability to an actual support engineer.
  • Overtime you can forget how to change setting - a refresher course would be nice, especially as new features are added to the solution.

The ease of use, pricing, support, reliability, and quality of the product. Panda / WatchGuard products are highly rated, priced right and easy to maintain. All of this make it very easy to renew and purchase new licenses for us and our clients.

Usability
WatchGuard Technologies
Easy and intuitive MSP management portal to manage all of your clients from a single pane of glass. Policies can be pushed down globally or individually based on needs. The client portal allows access to their tenant information and installs only which is nice if you are working with clients who might have an internal person or an IT team that also wants access to things to manage themself.

Reliability and Availability

The software is 100% managed on a cloud platform that can be managed via an account even if they are not present within the company network where the software is installed, I even always opened the control panel on the browser of my smartphone to monitor the situation.I have never experienced any abnormal software crashes

Performance
WatchGuard Technologies
The only annoyance I complain, if we want to be picky, is the fact of the constant disconnections from the control panel.Every about 4 hours the account logs out even if I set the "remember this device" flag; having said that I have not noticed neither slowdowns nor conflicts with other software

Support Rating
WatchGuard Technologies
I gave it a 10 because I compare it to air conditioning. I need it to work every day, 24/7. I need it to be reliable and not something that requires a ton of interaction from staff to make sure it works every day. In addition, I should be able to run other things at my house when the AC is on. Panda fits that description.

Support has been reliable up to this point. A request can easily be generated via the console and support responding in a reasonable time. We have not had any major issues other than the basic agents not communicating with the console and the like.

The software goes manually on a PC only on the company network and then proceeds through that PC to install the software on all the other clients through the control panel where all the clients / servers on the network are detected with extreme speed and ease of execution, even for uninstallation and remote control over scans

I had some difficulties with remote users. I ended up needing to open a remote tech support session and finish the process. Other than a few speed bumps, I was impressed with the engineering of the install. Because of time differences, I was done installing in two days. The cost, per license, could be less.

We found other products to be able to detect malware and malicious URL's better than Webroot Endpoint Protection. Thus, we moved away from Webroot Endpoint Protection. Also, over the years, there were at least 2 big mistakes by Webroot, where our business applications were flagged as malicious as a false positive. Webroot did a public apology, but those mistakes were highly disruptive.

Scalability
WatchGuard Technologies
With the implementation of watchguard (at the beginning Panda Endpoint, but it is the same) I was able to insert in the control panel all the unauthorized software previously installed by colleagues without any authorization from the various department heads. Now any licensed software goes into lockdown and can be unlocked from the control panel

Return on Investment
WatchGuard Technologies
  • [...] The ability to make website URL and category viewing restrictions resulted in higher productive personnel and reduced the risks of infection.
  • For the IT department, the centralised management console with all the information and tasks prepared to deploy to the endpoints helps us work more efficiently and faster.
  • The ROI has been really good along [the] years, with a safer environment our employees work better and without stress, that translates in productivity.

  • The licenses are pretty expensive but less costly than an actual malware infestation.
  • We have tremendous peace of mind knowing that our machines and communications are secure.
  • Our IT consultants are a little more involved in day-to-day management than they were before deploying Webroot Endpoint Protection, which means an increase in cost, but again this is a fair price to pay for protection against Internet threats.
