A Vendor Management System (VMS) used to find, engage, and manage a global external workforce – including temporary workers, freelancers, contractors, consultants, and service workers.
If your organization processes a large number of purchase orders and invoices every month/year, SAP Business Network is very effective, whereas smaller vendors without strong IT support sometimes struggle with setup and ongoing use. making onboarding and training a barrier.
SAP Fieldglass seems to be well suited to contingent workforce management. When compared to other products I have experienced, it is more advanced. Extremely well suited if you have SAP Ariba and SAP (ECC/S4) due to the seamless, pre-built integration between SAP Fieldglass and these other SAP systems. We used it in a regional (North American) scope, but that was based on business decisions and not system limitations.
The clients can link with different systems and data sources, making the functioning of various processes more accessible and more efficient.
The audience can interact with high-performance and meaningful analytics that reveal all the critical indicators of influencers and campaigns based on the data/information approach.
It includes a marketplace for brands, which makes the search process easier to find companies to partner with.
User Interface Complexity This interface can feel overwhelming and difficult to use, mainly for new users. A more streamlined, role-specific layout will help decrease the learning curve and enhance productivity.
Limited Small Vendor Integration for smaller vendors to adopt. Introducing a Modified or simplified version for smaller suppliers will make it more accessible.
Enhanced Predictive Analytics and Automation—The platform's predictive capabilities are limited, particularly in demand risk assessment.
Adding advanced automation analytics will help users proactively address supply chain needs.
Usability to be improved (to allow more end users to act directly in the system)
Rate card management / Fx rate management
Documentation of the functionality (There is so much functionality available in the system, it would be great to receive more instructions how to configure).
AI usage to ensure more intuitive entries, based on past usage and other users' experience/work
I will give it a 9, one is deducted for business inspection and improvement i feel that they are in the right direction and streamlined our flow of business agility also helped us get the R.o.i and helped with more sales and visibility over business and its metrics.
Usage of the web interface it’s easy and user friendly. iOS app it’s quickly and simple, with just a foto it’s possible to store the invoice and system automatically recognize the expenses. Good integration with credit card company to and excellent functionality to assign the credit card expenses to relative invoice.
There is still a ton of flexability on the customer's end of the platform, which makes standard onboarding for suppliers a challenge. Customers are allowed to ask for things, or customize certain things that are not standard for us, so we have to have special rules set up to complete an integration. There are also some limitations to automate invoice rejections that happen on the platform when a customer rejects an invoice
Web interface and iOS app are so simple and user friendly. The functionality that recognizes the expenses working very well. The integration with a credit card company it’s a an excellent functionality that simplify a lot the expenses management
Good performance from SAP as key deployment partner; collaboration and deployment with additional business partner for data provision and business partner onboarding was rather difficult, slowing down the project progress and overall success perception
Before we chose SAP Business Network, we looked at Oracle Supply Chain Management Cloud and Infor Supply Chain Management. While SAP Business Network boasted robust features, the fact that our existing ERP system could be integrated with the tool in a better fashion, and it was more intuitive, sealed the deal for us.
SAP Fieldglass offers extensive capabilities for managing contingent workforce, statement of work (SOW) projects, and services procurement. It seamlessly integrates with other SAP products (e.g. SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba) and external systems, providing a unified ecosystem for enterprises using SAP’s suite of solutions. It is highly scalable, suitable for large enterprises with complex workforce management needs.
SAP Business Network's streamlined supply chain and procurement processes have significantly reduced operational costs and improved resource allocation, leading to enhanced overall efficiency.
The platform's robust analytics have provided valuable insights, facilitating data-driven decision-making and enabling us to make more informed strategic choices, ultimately contributing to improved business performance.
Implementing and integrating the SAP Business Network initially required a substantial financial investment, impacting short-term cash flow and potentially delaying other critical business initiatives.
I would have to say Fieldglass has made a positive impact, only in that having access to it has opened up some client relationships we didn't have before. I am a vendor to clients using Fieldglass, so I can't really report on the financial successes they may have had by implementing it.
The negative side to Fieldglass, or any VMS, really, from an agency perspective is that it cuts out manager contact. That has a negative impact, both to the agency and the hiring manager. No longer can the managers really explain what they need, and no longer can an agency understand the req deeply. We have to work off of a scrubbed job description which is generally pretty vanilla.
