SAP Commissions is well suited for taking transactional data and determining a commission payment from this data. Some of our plans are quite complex and cross channels. To date, SAP Commissions has been able to handle everything we have thrown at it.
SAP Commissions can be used for territories. However, it is not its strength. There are better tools in the market for this (Anaplan).
Compensation review and management in Salesforce. Our comp team uses the tool and likes it very much. We used to have another competitor and switched away from that as this tool works much better but still could use speed improvements. The tool is well suited for any org that uses Salesforce and wants the commissions piece to integrate.
The team we have been working with at Xactly Incent has been fantastic. They have been able to efficiently translate our needs into functional design in Xactly and have been very quick to fix any issues that we have uncovered. Additionally, they have been very responsive to feedback and suggestions.
The analytics module offers a lot of flexibility for building out additional reporting and complements Xactly Incent very well. It is relatively easy for someone with moderate technical ability to pick up.
Xactly Incent does what we need in terms of commissions and bonuses. Results are accurate and are able to be processed daily in a reasonable amount of time.
Xactly Incent offers a wide variety of training on all of their different modules, including incent, analytics, and connect, allowing a high degree of flexibility if a business wants greater control over their configuration.
Our company is totally invested in Xactly with close to 2000 reps being paid out of it. We have 3 instances and there is no other method to calculate commissions. I feel the cost (although I do not know the amount) is also very competitive for the benefits.
The devil is in the detail. It's not intuitive to use, also not for Sales employees. You need to train them. For superusers like me you need a lot of training to administrate the system. It has a lot of functionalities and complexity like staging and upload orders, reset triggers, updating & creating rate tables. A lot of formulars are necessary to learn.
Xactly Incent is always available, they have planned monthly maintenance on Friday nights but are very proactive to communicate it. Monthly maintenance is useful as they address any bugs and also are constantly upgrading the user interface to make it easier to use.
Xactly Incent performs extremely well. I have not experienced it "slowing down" when usage is heavy. This is particularly true when it comes to the regular recalculation of credits and commissions. It is not uncommon for Xactly to be dealing with hundreds of thousands of orders/credits in a pay period, but the system handles it well. Xactly recently changed their calculation engine and the speed for regular refreshes increased significantly.
They take the time to understand the system. They keep us updated on the status of our cases. Finally, their continued follow up ensuring the initial issue was resolved is very nice. They will not close the case out until they have confirmed that our issue has been completely resolved and fixed.
It was great, good explanations and good training material provided, we were able to get a really good idea of how to use the system. I also think that it was enough time to learn how to setup the system.
Xactly offers training on new releases on a monthly basis and training on basic principles regularly via registration. My experience with both is that they do not provide the in-depth knowledge necessary to truly master the system and advanced courses still do not go to the level needed to autonomously manage the system and plans. Professional services are a large part of any cloud based service such as Xactly and I feel a reliance on such paid consulting services is a great money-maker for Xactly.
We have been satisfied with the implementation overall. The person from Xactly professional team was on our site to support the implementation and give us guides and instructions on how to operate the system in our case. it was really helpful moments. Xactly [Incent] Analytics reports are more advanced and easy to use. The interface is superior and allows for a deep dive into sales numbers and financials for the company. Other departments use Xactly [Incent] to help build cross-functional tools and databases, that can work together efficiently. UAT testing and test scripts are managed by the IT organization to adhere to all company policies. Finance uses it for analytics, forecasting, and financial modeling. HR uses it to determine terminations, new hires, and other relevant data points. Sales Operations uses it for quotas, sales strategy, planning, etc.
It's very flexible. In most cases it can be adapted to your needs by programming which may cost extra money. We have a lot of different complans and close to 1.000 employees using Xactly in EMEA. It's mainly used by Sales and Finance
Our company has been able to redirect a FTE worth of budget on our commissions team to other projects/initiatives that once were occupied by calculating and maintaining the formulas for our comp structures before Xactly.
Our ability to analyze comp-related trends within the company went from 0-60 as soon as we got all of our rules and processes built out in Xactly.
The amount of time saved from reps no longer sending simple inquiries into our commissions team is hard to quantify, but it’s increased our overall selling time and also reduced the load on the commissions team drastically.
