The free plan is definitely one of the best offers on the newsletter market today. Sendinblue has done a great job in making their email builder extremely efficient so that you won't lose time trying to figure out how to change the text color, add a button, a picture, a link, …
Chose Brevo
For email creation, delivering, and reporting, I would put Sendinblue in the same category (if not higher for overall value) as the other email platforms I have used.
Chose Brevo
It is adaptable by how it helps grow the business the way you want. It is accessible by how they provide intuitive and powerful marketing tools without the enterprise price tag.
Chose Brevo
We still have a problem with the delivery of our transactional emails, but compared to Sendinblue, we have lower rates. We also find the platform reports to be more robust, the graphics easy to read, and the reports very complete.
Chose Brevo
Sendinblue was a unified solution and that is why we chose them, and their plans are reasonably priced. They have an okay documented API.
Twilio SendGrid
Chose Twilio SendGrid
Brevo was cheaper and doesn't support the spam testing but in my experience their support was much , much better.

Brevo (Sendinblue, Inc)
Brevo is an excellent email subscriber service provider for startups, small businesses, and budget-conscious users. BUT it's real strength is that as your business scales, so too does Brevo's services. As mentioned in my review, when compared to over-hyped, and super-expensive AWeber, Brevo wins out in every singly department. Not every 1000, 10000, etc. sub list generates thousands in revenue. So why do other companies charge as if it's a large profitable corporation based on the sub number thresholds? Brevo is reasonably priced without sacrificing solid service. HIGHLY recommended.

I think Sendgrid is a great tool for sending out emails of all types. I've primarily used it for transactional emails as we've had other solutions for marketing emails, but I'm sure it would do just a good job - there is a "Marketing" section within the app you can use. Sendgrid integrates really easily with the development frameworks I've used, such as Laravel and Lumen; I've also integrated it with Moodle with ease.

Pros
Brevo (Sendinblue, Inc)
  • Sendinblue allows you to send emails that do not arrive in spam
  • Sendinblue, through its security measures and filters, helps keep contact databases well organized and up to date
  • Sendinblue offers an easy-to-use newsletter creation tool and, in case of lack of inspiration, many templates

  • Managing email lists / audiences is easy with features like groups and segments.
  • They provide pre-built email templates that are very easy to modify. It is also super easy to create new email templates with their drag-and-drop email builder.
  • Provides clear / easy-to-read analytics of email campaigns.
  • I can easily import large email contact lists all at once or add a user manually one-at-a-time, when needed.

Cons
Brevo (Sendinblue, Inc)
  • not easy to move/duplicate sections. much easier to just drag and drop. still working this out.
  • don't like the logo or text included with the newsletter sign up form. have now upgraded, but think this should not be included for lower pricing plans
  • not getting issues completely answered by support team. currently have an issue with email sign up not working on mobile. have been told it is not working, but not given any suggestions on how to fix this.
  • have had unusual issue come up with a link. On 2 separate occasions, with 2 separate newsletters that went out, and 2 different images/articles/links, the link was wrong. Even though we checked it, previewed it and sent test email before we sent out these newsletters and these links were correct. It is the section at the bottom of our current newsletter. On both these occasions, when the customer has forwarded the email they received to us, the link was was to an old link - and it was the same old link on both occasions. We have asked for this to be looked into and are waiting on reply. We are going to try to delete this section this week and re-create. It is not a good look for us.
  • We have another issue with how our newsletter is previewing in Outlook. The images and the text are not lining up - not on every section, but on 2 sections out of the 5 sections. Also, the Read Full Article text in the button is not showing properly. Again, not a professional look for us which we are not happy with.

  • Not necessarily their Email API but their email in general - they are currently in beta for automated email sequences but are still bare bones. Much more work is needed before it can be used mainstream and be able to convert everything to SendGrid.
  • Helping with warming up our dedicated IP for the best-sending score.
  • We seem to hit the promotions folder a decent amount (maybe the IP problem above) and even a lot of their emails hit my spam or promotions folder (whether they be transactional or marketing) which isn't a great sign when trusting an ESP.
  • Transactional email sequences would be a huge plus.
  • Now that Twilio owns SenGrid, having an integrated platform where you could see all our transactional emails together.
  • Better reporting and split reporting between transactional and marketing emails.

Usability

I am a web designer and systems admin. I have not found anything with this system that was hard to use. Other systems make it hard to do simple tasks and is very limiting. SendinBlue doesn't limit you.

It has the potential to be really cool. However, it feels as if it was created by developers for developers (and I work with developers, yet even for me the instrument was somewhat not easy to use - just read SendGrid's help manuals...) However, if you are into data and your way of thinking is more mathematical rather than lyrical, you'll enjoy this instrument

These people helped me identify errors when setting up DKIM and were more than helpful in trying to diagnose low open rates with a few campaigns identifying where improvement can be made and how to more effectively manage contact lists. The support is excellent.

Twilio SendGrid Email API is everything we want it to be, and we have no reason to look for any other solution. Features and pricing match exactly what we need. As developers for SaaS products, Twilio SendGrid Email API provides a great service. I hope that they stay this way and don't inflate the service with too many marketing oriented features, because there are other tools for that and Twilio SendGrid Email API is a API for sending email first and foremost.

Alternatives Considered
Brevo (Sendinblue, Inc)
I selected Sendinblue because my users and customers don't speak and read English, so the french version of an email solution was the best way to answer them. Since 2017, I always recommended Sendinblue to my customers and partners, even if they use another solution, I convert them and never go back again.

If given a choice between the two, I would pick Mandrill over SendGrid. Mandrill is slightly more expensive but the data & reports that you receive from it make the service worth it. Mandrill lets you export reports over a period of time, view the actual content of emails that you've dispatched and the customer support is way better. If you can bear the slightly higher cost, Mandrill would be a better choice.

Return on Investment
Brevo (Sendinblue, Inc)
  • The ROI has been very positive - We have been able to bring the entire process in-house to the marketing department
  • We are saving time and money by not involving outside contractors
  • We save resources by not involving I.T.
  • The amount of time we save by being able to create the email from concept to completion, all by one person, is astronomical.
  • We save some cost by using the Sendinblue stock image options

  • Our clients experience significant ROI from their web forms - without receipt of forms, many of them would not still be in business.
  • As a solution for clients' sites, we find SendGrid is a fast installation and a 1 stop problem solver, saving us man-hours.
