SoapUI Open Source

If you are making system upgrade project and you have existing system working and you want to imitate messages that are going in production but without making any data loads or switch it’s very suitable and convenient software. It serves well in manual test scenarios but wouldn’t be as good in case of mass tests.

Testim

Testim is suited to companies that want automation tests on user testing without having to convert their QA team to the automation team. Testim is also suited to companies without a QA, where they want automation tests easily written by other team members, either project managers or developers. Testim is not suited to companies with automation teams in place.

We are using Testim all the time. Every new, big we roll out feature has tests and it is our only tool for regression tests.

They are very helpful and responsive. If I had any issue they helped solve it, even if it was neglect on my part.

Alternatives Considered

SoapUI Open Source

Compared to SoapUI, we have been using "light" tools like RestClient extension in Firefox, or Postman.Compared to Postman, SoapUI is more simple for WSDL / SOAP webservices, as SoapUI generate all envelop, but Postman does not.For Rest API, I think that Postman is a little above SoapUI, but not too far away.

Return on Investment

SoapUI Open Source

  • Testing resolves most of the issues in the development phases.
  • User friendliness of the app makes it good.
  • Overall client happiness depends on the clean project, which is possible by testing.

Testim

  • We find more bugs, and the client doesn't get bugs in the release.
  • We don't need to hire a whole QA team, one individual is enough.
  • Everyone can understand the tests and see the work done.
