Vertical Response

Vertical Response is well-suited for organizations on a tight budget, and organizations who can hire a developer to create custom templates. For those in the middle, it is not as user-friendly as other options.

Cost was definitely a driver for the selection of Vertical Response. Once controlled for, Vertical Response had widespread existing adoption and the features and functionality we desired, both of which were key. Since we deployed it, it has been very easy for new users to get up to speed with how to use the platform. It is very user-friendly and intuitive, and has reduced the time we have needed to take to manage our email marketing creative

The product is easy to use and understand. WYSIWYG sometimes produces HTML that has to be troubleshot in the pure HTML view (for things like table cells and rows) versus within the WYSIWYG editor.

A couple of times I've had to wait on hold for 10 minutes. Otherwise it's been good. The support reps have been knowledgeable.

Constant Contact, MailChimp. Vertical Response covered our basic needs - contacts management, newsletter and marketing email activity analysis, templates/wizards, etc. and was free for non-profits up to 10,000 contacts/month.

Return on Investment

  • The email tracking of how many people actually clicked on links and opened the email was an eye opener. This brought the realization that we were spending too much on design of the links associated with the email. Not worth spending that much when the click through was so low.
