Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud EC2 is excellent for testing, developing scalable projects, and has a free layer that allows novice users to experiment with a VPS for free, ideal if it is going to be used along with the other AWS tools. If EC2 is the only tool that will be used, it is not so recomme...

    EC2- Computing on demand

EC2 is great for any scenario where you need to be upgrading/downgrading your compute power as the app demand grows/shrinks. Because of how the storage system, network system, and security system works under AWS, you can hot swap any server into any given slot. But if you want to customize your s...

A startup's take on IBM Cloud Virtual Servers

Amazon AWS is wildly complex right out of the gate, so it was easier to get started with IBM. We've also enjoyed the large global footprint IBM has and the dozens of geographic choices for server locations. It's also been easier to obtain a large number of IP addresses; we didn't have to jump thr...

It is well suited for creating cloud servers fast and easily. We found it useful when we wanted to experiment with different Linux distributions. It was easy to get them going, test them, then tear them down and rebuild them. We use Rackspace cloud servers for less critical stuff, such as less im...

To S3 or not to S3, that is the question... Amazon S3 is the answer!

Amazon S3 allows us to set metadata which also allows files to clean up after itself, which prevents our organization from storing information longer than needed which is wonderful (and keeps us only paying for what we really need to store).

Compared to AWS Oracle is slightly more cost-effective, especially when the implementation doesn't require a wide range of services. The out of the box functionality is minimal compared to AWS or Azure. The technology is advanced especially when it comes to hosting the database. Customer support ...

I was using Microsoft Azure as a part of the hybrid infrastructure. Part of our services were stored on-premise and lots of them were based on Microsoft Azure platform. A few that we used were Microsoft Azure Active Directory services, virtualization services, all the cross-connected with Office ...

We use virtual servers in the entire organization, and we use them to process vehicle tracking data and show results instantly on the customer portal. IBM servers have helped us deliver direct service to nearly 5,000 customers on a regular and consistent basis. This is in addition to accurate syn...
