As a reseller we install 8x8 X Series within our supported customer base. We've found it to be an excellent product. Moving from older and alternative VOIP systems and legacy on-premises systems to 8x8 X Series solutions is easy and well supported. Customers are pleased with the improvements, fast performance and lower costs that come with the solution.
  • Easy to use
  • SImple to migrate from old systems
  • Flexible configuration
  • Cross platform communication
  • Support for more telephone handsets is always welcome
8x8 X Series has been excellent when used to replace old on-premises systems or migrating from other VOIP services. Integration with software such as Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Dynamics is very useful.

Our customers are pleased with the peformance, reliability and scalability of the 8x8 X Series solution.

8x8 is used in our business for incoming and outgoing calls. It allows outside callers to select options for the required department(s) Currently reception and customer service. Customer service calls are looped which 8x8 have been set up to our requirements by selecting the next operator in line to take a call which loops to the next operator if unanswered. We have direct numbers to give out and we utilise the missed call option as well as voice mail.
My issues that I have is the ringtone as it sounds too much like our teams ringtone and the transfer hold and leave buttons. They could be bigger and more prominent. I would rather see these icons front and center rather a circle image of the person I am talking / calling.
  • Ease of use
  • Display features - Easy to navigate.
  • I like how you can just type a name rather than a number to make calls
  • Clarity of calls is great although background noise is picked too easily and too loud almost to the point of distortion advised by some callers. May have to do with our headsets?
  • More prominent transfer, hold, and leave icons.
Great when sitting at your desk in front of your computer. No more clunky phones taking up space or leads to tangle :)
Not so quick to answer when you walk away from your desk.

I was looking for a new supplier to replace our traditional phone system. I found 8x8 X Series by accident after seeing an advert in an airport. I didn't think they would be interested in my small business but called them anyway. They were very helpful and I now have a much better system for less than a quarter of what I used to pay. The app is excellent in that it allows me to make and receive calls from anywhere and I can get messages anywhere and anytime and don't have to give out my own number to anyone.
  • excellent value
  • app lets me make calls anywhere
  • auto attendat is a great answering service
I can't think of a situation where 8x8 X Series wouldn't work well.

We use 8x8 X Series pretty much with most of the functions available. It is our daily phone system, but almost all of us use the phone app when working from home. There are several of us who use headsets connected to our office computers that allow us to never touch the phone...we can answer calls and dial out on the computer keyboard. You wouldn't think that would save a lot of time, but it actually does when you take and make dozens of phone calls each day. We use the messaging system within 8x8 X Series, as well as the faxing service. This is quite literally a single product that has so many functions that help us be productive. The ONE issue I seem to have when working from home and using the mobile app is that occasionally I will move my phone and lose audio on my end. The other party can hear me, but I can't hear them. I spoke with our account rep who mentioned there is a setting that could be turned off in the app which should prevent that, but that would mean I couldn't answer a call and transfer it to another person in my organization. For all the good this product does for our company, I'll deal with that minor pain point!
  • Customer service is excellent if you need something checked or handled quickly.
  • Integrating multiple things within a single app that are crucial to daily operations, i.e. phone, fax, IM, and messaging directly to our 8x8 X Series rep.
  • Having tech experts who can let you know if accessories will or will not work with the system, such as the headsets we us.
  • The mobile app has the one issue that causes me to lose audio. Is there a fix without turning off the setting which allows me to transfer calls?
  • When using the mobile app and needing to transfer a call, I've noticed the employee list looks a little weird. It doesn't appear to be in order of name or extension. But maybe that's a setting I have marked incorrectly.
I can't think of any function that doesn't suit our organization. The ability to work from anywhere and still answer phone calls coming in is great. Being able to message colleagues, use the fax function when working anywhere, and transfer when on the mobile app just like I would in the office is great. Overall, I think this product is well worth the cost. The design helps us be as efficient as possible with minimal effort.

We are a managed services supplier. In doing this we work with 8x8 to implement new VOIP systems
This addresses issues to our clients looking for a new solution for their current phone system and VOIP resolves issues where the client is rural with poor signal
We currently only have a few clients using 8x8 but are constantly expanding and have heard great feedback so far
  • Initial setup
  • Customer support
  • Quality of service
  • Making the portal more user friendly to the customer
The best scenario we have used 8x8 for has been for a rural client who was using a mobile phone with patchy signal to make calls to their customers.
We implemented VOIP for them at their site and they can now make calls reliabily and they are incredibly happy with the result.

What I love most about this product is the fact that I can make calls from my cell phone that still shows up as if calling from the office. Also the ability to turn incoming calls on and off when away from the office. Overall, I have enjoyed the 8x8 experience.
  • Call forward
  • Messages
  • Flexibility
  • More simplified platform for less advanced users
We sell durable medical equipment. We have multiple offices that are supported through this one product, and it serves us well as we have multiple lines.

We use 8x8 to manage all 22 of our employees phone usage for our mental health company. We have 2 hard desk phones and the rest are cell phone/desktop web users.
  • HIPAA Compliant texting
  • voicemail to email transciption
  • Customer support outside of our individual account representative
  • multiple user logins would be nice as well
Overall 8x8 is a good product. It does seem to do frequent updates. We are very happy with our service representative; however, calling the main customer service line has been problematic. We do go through cycles of missing calls and clients not being able to hear us and then have to uninstall the application and reinstall it to work.

The desktop and mobile app allow us to not need deskphones and be more flexible with where we work. We are not tied down to a location and can work anywhere to help support our customers anytime. The ability to grab numbers quickly give us an advantage to putting together marketing campaigns quickly. Call flow routing with ring groups, call queues, and auto attendants are easy to set up and use.
  • Admin portal
  • Call flow
  • Applications
  • Desktop application needs to have a smaller window so it doesn't take up entire screen
  • Ability to send a call directly to a users voicemail from call flow
I think any scenario will be benefited by 8x8 X Series.

We use as a full CCAS solution. We implemented in 2022, still rolling out some features to the operation.

Connectivity and support with our previous platform was a real logistical issue and impacted our service to customers. Being on a cloud solution is much more preferable.

The analytics suite has been a game charger for us.
  • Follow the sun support service
  • Implementation support
  • Customised reports
  • interval level reporting - I find it hard to believe we cannot get a 15 min report
  • Weekly reporting is set to Sunday to Saturday, very American approach. There isn't scope to change this to Monday to Sunday and this should just be a simple fix.
The implementation support from 8x8 was fantastic and training was very expansive to what I've experienced in the past.

8x8 is our phone system we use for communicating with our customers. We also use the internal group messaging feature within the company. We actually went to a different company briefly, and quickly came back to 8x8 after realizing we made a huge mistake. The quality and service levels with 8x8 are unmatched. Without effective communication with our clients, we would be out of business and 8x8 makes that so easy!
  • Call Quality
  • Ease of Use of Sytem
  • Quick Response to IT/Product Issues
  • Truly, I have nothing negative to say about this system!
8x8 has proven to have excellent quality and service. When we briefly explored a different company for our phone system, the service levels left much to be desired. We would go a week or more without hearing from our account manager on issues we were having, they would schedule calls and then not make them. 8x8 has been the exact opposite, they are on top of things when we need them, we no longer have dropped calls or complaints about call quality, and the system is so easy to transfer calls and direct them where they need to go.

We are moving to the 8x8 X Series phone system at multiple locations as a replacement for Avaya, Vonage, and Mitel phone systems. The Avaya system is no longer supported. The Vonage system was working well, but we wanted a common system between locations. The Mitel system is no longer supported and has been acquired by another company. The Mitel hardware has become unstable and difficult to maintain. We also wanted to move away from T-1 connections to an all-IP-based system. We would have moved to the Microsoft Teams environment, which we also use, but there were specific applications where Teams would not do everything we needed.
  • System administration is simple and clear.
  • The flexibility of using physical phones, a computer application, or a mobile device app. meets all of our needs.
  • The sales process was clear and complete with very knowledgeable resources.
  • I really can't think of any areas for improvement.
I don't have a call center environment, so I can't speak to this scenario. It is ideal for a simple, business environment.

We use 8x8 in our company so that supervisors in 3 departments can receive and send calls. The customer care person can also transfer calls to other departments so that she does not need to physically carry the phone to the person who needs to handle the call.
  • It works well if your internet is strong enough.
  • It is inexpensive.
  • Set up is not user friendly.
  • Customer support is not helpful in setting up the system.
  • Drop calls and poor quality of voicemail. This may be an internet problem.
I think it works well for companies like ours (it was recommended by another company) if the company has a good internet system. Many of the calls we receive are dropped and voicemails are intelligible.

The premise is good, and it is nice to be able to turn on and off the app so you are not bothered at home.

Manage 25 person firm for telephone.
Use the main receptionist to handle main number calls. Also in-person, remote and mobile uses of 8X8 with desk phones and mostly Windows app on laptops to answer most of the calls. Transferring to cell phone from computer app is a breeze. Also to answer calls while on the road is great.
  • Laptop to cell phone transfer of calls.
  • Forwarding to other users
  • Remote workers, cell phone users and desk users works flawlessly
  • Training on setting up new polycom phones should be easier. S/B log into the phone and it should be setup
  • better features with video calls to compete with Zoom
  • better features with messaging to compete with Slack
Support is great

We use the 8x8 auto attendant and call que system to properly direct clients based on the DID they call, options they select, and time and day of the call. The system is easy to setup and can be modified quickly and efficiently by whomever is assigned the proper permissions. End users can operate the system without having to have any special knowledge about the setup, and training is quick and simple.
  • Call Routing
  • Visual Voicemail
  • Mobile Phone App
  • Deskphones
  • Cost of Advanced Call Analytics
  • Outbound text messaging from a single DID for very small offices.
8x8 is well suited for small offices that require a hipaa compliant communications solution within a unified communications platform. Features are easy to setup and maintain. Because of their worldwide presence, sometimes support personnel are hard to understand; however, for the most part nothing every breaks and support is just needed if you can’t figure out how to do something using one of the helpful articles on the website.
This company is also very well suited for the large enterprise. The features they offer can do everything Imaginable, but they are not inexpensive. The quality and features are excellent and well worth the cost. If you’re looking for cheap and minimal quality- this is not the solution.

I take incoming and make outbound calls to clients! Intake about 30-40 calls a day & the problem my agency face are calls being routed to a furniture store. Also my agency experience call drops more than we like.
  • Route calls when on vacation mode or Do not disturb
  • Text feature works really well
  • Sound quality on calls are very good
  • Technical support is very efficient
  • I would like to be able to clear out & delete my text messages!
  • I would like all calls to be routed correctly
8x8 would be greatly recommended to small companies with anywhere from 1-50 employees.

We use 8x8 for our entire phone system. All incoming calls come to me and then I easily transfer them using the 8x8 app on my phone. I also use the desktop app, which I find to be more clear than the IOS app. I also use 8x8 to set up new users for my company.
  • Easy Use
  • Clear Connection
  • Reliable
  • Setting up voicemail more seamlessly
  • Allowing Admin to update user photos for entire company for consistency of image
  • Moving the Meet Now button on the IOS app to a different location... it is easy to hit accidentally!
  • Putting the Hold button on the IOS app in a better location
  • Transcribe voicemails
We just use it as our phone service and it suits us well for our needs! Since we have not used it for any other feature, I cannot say there is a less appropriate use.

We use 8x8 as our primary phone lines. Biggest problem it solves is being able to be on one phone system with the same call queues and rules so our customers receive a familiar, simple experience. It makes call queues and escalations way easier to set up than in other consoles
  • Really like how easy it is to add and then merge calls
  • Flipping calls is particularly smooth
  • The copy feature to then have the 8x8 call button pop up when highlighting a phone number is used on an hourly basis here at Tailored Tech
  • I wish I could have a feature to force warm transfers for a particular group
  • I wish I could hear my voice a little better to know what my volume levels truly are
  • I would like a Stream Deck integration that I don't have to customize myself.
8x8 is and will continue to be our choice when it comes to our phone providers. So when it comes to our colleagues, it isn't really an option. They must and will use 8x8 because it is core to our business.

We use 8x8 on a daily basis for both our internal team and our appointment setters/retention team. The options and properties of 8x8 are phenomenal and provide us every resource that we could possibly ever need. The system is extremely reliable and never fails us. Customer support is always very helpful the few times we have had to use it. 8x8 is a great service for any company!!!
  • Excellent connection quality
  • Various capabilities for every need
  • Customer service is great!
  • Ring groups are essential
  • Auto attendant work extremely well
  • Smooth User Interface that is very user friendly
  • Easy to add new employees and get them a number set up
  • Could add a few more detail options
  • More control over the interface
  • add the same capabilities that are on the phone app to the desktop version
  • Sometimes it takes a few minutes to navigate to find certain things
It is excellent for Auto Attendant when getting our calls directed to the correct department. Ring groups are an absolute most have and makes it very convenient to set up based on departments, it's also very easy to add employees already in the system to add to the ring groups. You just find their name and hit save, it's that easy. It's just as easy to remove someone from ring groups or the entire system should they leave the company. Setting up a new account for someone is very easy and straight to the point with no confusing terms and the auto email for the employee to set up their own password is very easy too. I haven't found a negative scenario with 8x8 yet, the only small thing is sometimes you have to search around to find a certain thing if you don't do it daily (finding the billing for example), but still its not that hard once you click around a few times.

When working in the mental health field, we encounter various people looking for assistance or resources for themselves or others. One of the tools for communication we use is an 8x8 X Series account. Using it allows us to be in contact with our community so that we can provide them with the information they were looking for. It also helps within the company by being able to use their provided app and you can communicate with your coworkers without having to use your personal phone number or line. The only issue I have is the user interface. A lot of information can be overwhelming for some and it will take a bit longer than usual to understand how it works.
  • Customer Service
  • Follow-Ups from the Customer Service representative
  • Receive phone calls
  • Setting up Voicemails
  • Better looking UI
It was well suited when I was in need of updating a user's account. Was having difficulties setting it up but when I was in contact with Customer Support, a lot of the issues went away. I believe not appropriate when trying hours to setup a voicemail without it working the first time.

I use it as our landline type phone and for when I am out of the office. I am a solo practitioner with one paralegal and we both use it exclusively. Our phones ring all day long as it's a high-volume immigration practice. Sometimes I am in court or out of the office for a variety of reasons and I never want my clients to have my cell phone number so I often use the mobile app to do calls while out of the office. It works very well either over wifi or cellular data.
  • Good price
  • Mobile integration
  • Ease of use
  • Flexible expanandability.
  • Ease of call forwarding on the website could be improved
  • Finding call logs on the site
  • Mobile phone app doesn't show call history unless left on all the time.
I have never felt that 8x8 X Series was inadequate for my firm's needs. I don't know how well it would work in a huge firm setting as I'm just a solo practitioner, but it may be complicated for many users, but I can't say that confidently.

We use 8x8 in conjunction with our Microsoft Teams clients. Setup was fairly straightforward. We got help forwarding numbers from another party and setup profiles for different staff. 8x8 service has proven itself as stable platform and works very well with our Teams clients. We use Auto Attendant and really liked that we can have AI read our prompts, saved us time to prerecord the menus. We also like Ring Groups that are also easy to setup and administer. There is an open to add 8x8 app into Teams client as well, but we do not use it as there is no need for general population to ever login to 8x8, which is awesome. It is easy to make changes and items are graphically laid out and have very good descriptions.
  • Some Reporting can be done better, not easy to create a group or role
  • Does not display all the accounts at once, must scroll down to be able to run report
  • When we sync 8x8 with teams, it is often slow.
  • No readily available API to use with our automation software
Best
-Midsize - large company where maybe IT knowledge is not easily reached. System is mostly set it and forget it, does not require upkeep
-Many geographically far locations that often need to transfer a call to each other

I love using 8x8 X Series, it's a great affordable solution for your phone needs! I saved close to 2K per restaurant vs using regular phone service after I made the change. It's easy to integrate with your calendars to set up meetings as well.
  • Reduces Cost
  • Easy to set up conference calls
  • Integrates well with work calendars
  • In my experience, it's not easy to activate phones when one of them quits working, you usually have to get tech support to help with installation
  • In my opinion, there is quite a bit of upfront work to make the change, but the cost savings make it worthwhile
We made the change to 8x8 X Series vs using traditional phones. For us the savings vs a traditional phone makes this a great option. It's easy to set up conference calls and integrates well with your work calendars. You can change your greetings too very easily to suit your needs as the time. It takes some time on the front end to get ready for the change, but for us it's well worth it in the end.
