We benefit from Acquia DxP and professional services to deploy at speed and run simplified operations at scale for hundreds of our consumer product digital experiences. It makes operations, maintenance, and upgrades easy while delivering superior, accessible, and high-performing experiences. We really enjoy the flexibility and automatization principles of the multi-sites factory to focus on experience, content, and conversions.
  • Multisites management.
  • Implementing modularity and composable components to easily build experiences at scale.
  • World class infrastructure services.
  • Highly optimized pipelines and more for Drupal.
  • Simpler approach to capacity management.
It made it super easy to upgrade 300+ Drupal sites to the latest major version in 12 weeks, end to end. It is easy to deploy legal changes and updates to components at scale. Turnkey service to deploy new environments and to clone sites. There are no ecosystem lock-in principles for Customer service/success services and professional services for new approaches.

We launched FLEXspace.org on the Acquia Platform on the recommendation of our developer. FLEXspace is a complex portal where each "member" is also a mini-administrator, uploading exemplars of different types of technology enabled education spaces. When the version of Drupal reached end of life, our new developer KWALL.com already had a good relationship with Acquia, and the transition has been very smooth with very results! We're anxious to launch the new portal in the coming weeks.
  • It's fast, no lag time
  • Exceptionally good support. When there's a problem, you reach out to your account manager who either fixes the issue or gets you to the right person. We've had no downtime.
  • Platform is very accessible to those who know how to manage the back end software.
I appreciate that their staff is very proactive in reaching out for account renewal, managing the bureaucracy of our accounts system, and being generally good humored during all interactions. It may sound like a little thing, but when you're grinding away all day at a desk, it's a welcome relief (particularly if related to some kind of technical challenge) to have a friendly, well humored, empathic account manager!

We use a number of Acquia products and services across our enterprise. We power over 40 core sites and tools internet and intranet. We leverage the Acquia ecosystem, Drupal, site studio, DAM on ACSF and ACE stacks to build operate, enhance both websites and headless APIs which in turn power various BCBSMA portals.
  • Low code, no code ability for business teams to build and maintain their own basic sites and content
  • Enables us to have a single source of truth for all our digital assets via the DAM, manage and distribute them across the enterprise and to other third party partner applications
  • Allow for rapid creation, spin up, publishing of critical digital content without releases, both intranet, and internet
  • Acquia platform and its operational support is outstanding, extremely reliable
  • We like the DAM but it needs improvements in its availability of APIs and plug in integrations. ex. the Brightcove plugin does not support 508c asset accessory files, the DAM does, our understanding is there is no API access to the asset aux files.
Well suited for constructing, enhancing, and operating mission critical websites with a modern UI that meets branding needs well. Able to have low code - no code content and site management with no to minimum development. Able to manage assets well and generally distribute them automatically to numerous digital properties. We are looking at creating a secure logged-in portal with our Acquia products

In this project we have a big challenge. Deliver 3 websites in a short time while keeping the ability for non technical content editors to create new pages using pre configured components.

We've used Acquia Site Studio together with Acquia Cloud Site Factory to achieve these goals. This combo lead us develop all websites in a record time, allowing our customer to launch them before summer.
  • Source Code Management
  • Deploy pipelines
  • User management
  • Hosting plans fit for smaller websites
Acquia DXP is well suited in projects that the website, or websites, are key to the business revenue. The DXP platform helps business to know their customer and create tailor made campaigns leading to a better user retention, conversion rate and more.

On websites that don't have this purpose, the Acquia Cloud Platform hosting plans are a better fit.

We use it for hosting our Drupal site, helping to manage different development environments. Also use it for managing databases and Git repositories making it easy to manage everything. So far there has been a learning curve for me but everything is starting to come together. Seems pretty simple and easy to manage once you get to know everything.

We use the Acquia Digital Experience Platform to develop, manage, and maintain our main Drupal websites. We use it for deploying code updates, backing up databases and files, as well as managing domains and server configuration. Our business problems are mostly that of making sure our websites are secure and properly protected, as we handle a large amount of personal data. Also, a significant number of users depend on and interact with these applications, and they need to perform well and be very accessible.
  • Code/Database/Files deployment
  • Database backups
  • Version control interface
  • Ability to access application files within UI
Pulling applications down to my local machine via the Lando Acquia recipe. It is very intuitive and straightforward. When it is time to push changes up to the Acquia Digital Experience Cloud, I like being able to switch code branches and tags via the interface, where they can be restored to previous versions just as quickly.

We use Acquia for a number of our clients which is dependent on the clients needs and what capabilities they require. For most use-cases, however, Acquia is the perfect fit. Our clients can trust the service and since my company has been working with them for so long we also have a partnership with Acquia. Some of the benefits are scalability, environment management, easy user management, simple backup services, easy cloud access via admin panel or via command line, and the included SOLR service (this is a huge plus for our clients).
  • Environment Management
  • SOLR Service Integration with Drupal
  • Easy publishing via webhooks or drag-n-drop
  • UI is pretty easy to navigate, but could be updated
Being a primarily Drupal developer, this service is amazing. So much of the integrations are ready to go out of the box. I have not hosted anything other than Drupal on there, but I have heard of some issues using other CMS platforms or front-end applications where things could be improved. It's not worth me going into detail as I would lean more onto a review where someone has direct experience in those areas.

We use Acquia Cloud as a hosting service and their supplied tools in our Continuous Integration pipeline in order to be able to manage and deploy code on different environments fast. The whole team can then focus their efforts on development rather than deployment. The code switch button allows the team to quickly switch between different VCS branches so they can test different features without the need of spinning up another environment.
  • Code deployment
  • Sending emails
  • Managing SSL certificates
  • Database backups
  • Team management
  • Acquia migrate accelerate could be improved
  • Some documentation is hard to find
  • Adding more Hints in the GUI could help find documentation faster
Hosting a Drupal website on fast and reliable servers when you have a whole team working concurrently on the project where you need to deploy code multiple times a day. Integration with Bitbucket pipelines works great and saves tons of time when reviewing code and merging branches.

Would not recommend for small teams who do not utilise a VCS solution and do not need multiple environment.

Our Acquia Cloud Platform and Cloud IDE services enable us to host, manage, develop, test, and deploy our public and intranet portal applications in a centralized, fast and secure way. Acquia Cloud coupled with an excellent professional support, enables our institution to establish a great web presence to the general public and to our internal users.
  • Application Management
  • Content Management
  • Built-in security
  • Customer support
  • View application source code directly in the portal (e.g. Modules, configuration files, etc.) similar to GiHub.
I am convinced that Acquia is a perfect platform for hosting and a provider of multiple services regardless of industry, or company size. It can help anyone establish a quick digital presence regardless of the complexity involved.

We use Acquia cloud for hosting drupal sites of small to large sizes. We use other products like site studio for design and personalization for building a personalized experience for users. Acquia cloud provides an easy interface for managing the sites from deployment to taking backup and it saves lots of time for the team to focus on the actual work.
  • Easy to manage deployment and automatic backups
  • Great support team that is happy to help on any issue specially on critical issues
  • Regular updates about sites and service on Acquia during maintenance
  • Account manager support to always make sure how the site is performing
  • The Acquia personalization does not have clear documentation, It is a bit difficult to find what you are looking for in the documentation
  • The product should have a sandbox account for developers to learn and recommend it to their customers
  • Site studio a has very less option to customise, as we came across few scenarios where we needed to alter the behaviour of site studio component but could not find any documentation about it.
I believe for hosting a drupal application, especially a large application I would recommend using the Acquia platform, Also Acquia provides a list of products that covers the complete digital experience like personalization and site factory for managing multisite.
I would say for small sites it may not be useful to use such a vast eco system of tools.

If you use Drupal as your CMS, Acquia makes a lot of sense as a hosting partner. Acquia Support, Technical Account Management (TAM) teams, and Acquia Professional Services all understand Drupal, in addition to Acquia. Also, Acquia has a network of Drupal development partners and introduced us to a great partner. We leverage Acquia for hosting 2 websites, one which is very simple and one that is quite complex. The simple website can be maintained fairly automatically through Acquia's RA (Remote Administration) branch, which handles Drupal core module updates, security patches, and some other updates seamlessly. We use a 3-tiered environment and GitHub with the more complex site and Acquia provides the tools and support to ensure that everything is working well. I do wish that their admin UI had a little more detail on visits and views and better reporting on database and file storage, but requests to support and meetings with our Account Manager fill these gaps.
  • Administering SSL certificates.
  • Backing-up databases.
  • Scheduling jobs.
  • Admin UI reporting details on visits and views.
  • Better transparency into database and file storage and optimizing each.
  • Monitoring and alerting (new relic integration is nice, but native capabilities would be great).
If you use Drupal CMS, whether a simple or complex site, Acquia seems like a great partner. If you are considering moving to Acquia and Drupal, I would probably only go this route if you have Drupal development support. While the simple sites are easily maintained through Acquia's RA branch, I think that there are cheaper options for basic sites. Acquia is strong at supporting Drupal hosting, but since there will likely be a separate development team, it creates a bit of a challenge when something goes wrong to figure out if it is an Acquia problem (typically not) or a development problem (usually the case for our issues).

I am helping to build a website using Drupal and to migrate legacy content to the new site. <br>We will be utilizing Acquia DAM for document management. <br>
  • I am very impressed with CloudIDE that allows to install and manage Drupal codebase without installing it on my local machine. Very convenient!
  • I am also impressed with Acquia cloud infrastructure that is provisioned and comes equipped with CI/CD pipelines out of the box.
  • Acquia DAM (Document Management) System is also very impressive. I love that basic solutions come pre-configured and ready to go out of the box.
  • Knowledgeable support is also very impressive with Acquia.
  • Some of the documentation on using new features feels a bit scattered with some obvious questions not readily answered in the documentation at times. But Acquia Support usually fills this gap pretty quickly.
If you are looking for turn-key, done-out-of-the-box solutions with great support and are willing to pay for it, Acquia is a good fit for you.

We are using it for our official website. The kind of content management and authoring features they offer is very efficient. Flexibility is the primary advantage of the tools offered by Acquia Digital Experience Platform. Correct documentation and simple UI helps a lot for a new comer to adapt to the environment. The CI/CD pipelines help in quick and easy deployment which in turn lessens the load on developers.
  • Quick and easy deployment
  • Up to date and clear documentation
  • Great customer support
  • There are bugs in Site Studio when developing locally
  • Drush 11 is not yet supported on ACP
  • Video tutorials for BLT from scratch
It is well suited for a website with more flexibility requirements. It also helps if one has an inexperienced / no Integration / CI / CD team. It is also helpful for quick deployments. A website can be easily hosted very quickly using Acquia Digital Experience Platform's tools. It is not suitable for businesses having low flexibility requirements or if content is not updated regularly.

We picked the Acquia Digital Experience Platform as our main content management system (CMS) and digital experience platform (DXP) that allows us to easily create, manage, and deliver digital experiences across multiple channels (web, linkedIn, email) and devices. It helped us to create engaging and personalized digital experiences for customers, manage and deliver content super easily, and integrate with other systems and platforms. We mostly used the platform for website development and management, digital marketing, customer engagement and quotation.
  • content editing/updating
  • trendy website design
  • ease of use
  • user management
  • advanced web features (such as parallax scrolling)
  • spam email filtering in forms
  • live edit previews
Acquia Digital Experience Platform is awesome for web development, design and content management. We didn't need to hire external consultants every time we wanted to create new pages, update or add new content. We were able to integrate videos, 3D models, maps and other features that made our website stand out. It appears as if it's made by a professional but the platform is so easy to learn that anyone in the business can register as a user and do some edits. It's great that the staging and dev environments are separate so that we can easily oversee the changes, get feedback and ensure everything is working before going live.

This originally started being used primarily in marketing but is now used in our careers and community digital landscape. The platform allows us to focus on the content and design specifics and leave the technical platform administration to the Acquia Support team.
  • Single, easy to use online dashboard to manage the applications.
  • Easy to use drag and drop code deployment workflow within the platform.
  • Simple support ticketing process allowing quick access to support and Technical Account Manager (TAM) resources.
  • The monitoring report capabilities are still quite restrictive. Uptime and historical logs could be presented in a reporting structure in the dashboard. This would make the dashboard a single source of truth.
  • Simpler SSL cert upload process. Instead of extracting the keys maybe a simple file upload process could work.
For code deployment purposes their [Acquia Digital Experience Platform] drag and drop feature is a really useful tool. Domain management is easy to use (if you have multiple domain records that you require to manage). The Cloud Edge and WAF subscription pays for itself very quickly and allows for granular management of firewall rules. You can now manage multiple SSL certs in a single application. This is a really positive addition. If you require post-event triage the platform is not quite ready for this yet. You can still access data but you will need dev[elopers'] resources to extract the logs directly from the server(s).

Since we launched the new LumApps website this year, we're using the Acquia Digital Experience Platform to manage and improve our website CMS: Drupal. We switched from WordPress to Drupal/Acquia in order to build a stronger CMS, for lead generation, but also on a daily basis use for all the contributors.
  • Page builder with high flexibility
  • Strong Deployment Workflow
  • All in one CMS
  • Easier database SQL queries
  • Better updates regarding Transport Layer Security (TLS)
  • Allow redirects by keeping UTM in the URLs
Acquia Digital Experience Platform is a very strong tool managed by a strong team. It helps to get highly quality features but as it's not open source, there's sometimes a lack of flexibility to implement custom needs. (In a way, that is normal).

Acquia built and hosts the websites for our university library system -- at least 8 libraries under one umbrella. I QA'ed for the build team, and I maintain and enhance the site subsequent to build and launch. I use the Cloud Platform dashboard and the Cloud IDE, in conjunction with Github, to manage the configuration of the front end, while others are in charge of content.
  • the site is powerful
  • you can get very granular with configuration and content
  • layout is very simple to execute, but it doesn't look simple on the front. it's simple to execute complicated things
  • almost endlessly customizable with modules
  • the support portal can be hit and miss. sometimes there are very helpful people who get back to you in a timely manner, but more often there's a lot of lag time for the ticket to get picked up and in between responses, which can also be less than helpful.
  • it seems like the different departments within acquia (support, management, build teams) don't communicate with each other.
  • because features are so dense and granular, sometimes the workflow or how they are connected can be really complex to access.
You are able to create almost anything you want, and make almost endless customizations with drupal modules. This is I think the strongest feature of Acquia.
The biggest drawbacks are the inherent complexity - with great customizability comes great complexity-- and the unreliability of the support.
I think that once you truly grasp and are comfortable with the workflows, it will be a very smooth and logical process, but that takes concentrated effort because of the complexity. But, changes on the front end are instantaneous and cascading. It's a tradeoff, which is expected, you just have to be prepared for that.

We use it to host the Drupal Content management system for much of our site. This includes thousands of pages.
  • Low Down Time
  • Excellent Tech Support People
  • Good administrative interface
  • They replaced Acquia Dev Desktop with Acquia Cloud IDE which doesn't let you set up as many instances of Drupal.
It is especially good for large sites with lots of traffic. The ability to easily give different workers different rights is very helpful. I wouldn't use it for a small site with little customization or traffic. The overhead with using Composer would be a bit much for those instances, though it is very helpful for complex sites.

Acquia is our SASS solution for Drupal 7 powered websites, landing pages and webtools. Our prospect facing website and internal facing websites both utilize the Drupal 7 framework that Acquia hosts. In addition our SEM efforts, RFI forms and other marketing communication is on the platform. Acquia has performed consistently well.
  • Dependable Update
  • Knowledgeable Customer Service
  • Functionality seems designed for larger enterprise organizations
  • Interfacing tools are sometimes more complex then similar cloud hosted services such as Azure or AWS
Acquia has a very large offering of services that cater to larger enterprise clients. Smaller single-domain clients like our website seem like a loose fit for what Acquia provides.

We utilize Acquia Digital Experience Platform working with a variety of organizations to help them deliver personalized flexible websites and portals that improve user experience and make it easier for authors to innovate that experience. The typical challenges businesses are dealing with are needing deeper integrations to deliver on the consumer journey, faster time to market for new initiatives, and a lower total cost of ownership.
  • Easy component framework for drag and drop editing capabilities to accelerate build
  • Centralized management of many sites from a single codebase
  • HIPAA compliant hosting
  • Digital Asset Management
  • Personalizing solution is only rules based, does not have ML or AI yet
  • Would love to see richer analytics
  • Low-code ideas are challenging in production at scale
Acquia’s newer approaches to building sites through either low-code in Site Studio or headless APIs make Drupal a great solution, even when traditional PHP development is not the team’s preference. Acquia is a great solution when organizations want a mixed marketing technology ecosystem - bringing their existing “best of breed” products and easily integrating them.

Acquia enhances Drupal to give clients a true Enterprise DXP centered around content management. This enables business units to drive their digital experiences with little IT involvement. I've seen Acquia successfully used in a number of use cases including, but not limited to, B2C entertainment business and a consumer retail good company. We've also implemented Acquia for our own website.
  • Ample and intuitive content editing capabilities
  • Flexibility to change content schema on the fly
  • Robust cloud platform minimizing management overhead
  • The add on products still have some growing to be truly cohesive
  • SiteFactory and ContentHub work well for certain use cases but flexibility outside of that is limited
Acquia can be successful in just about any scenario, it is that robust of a product. On the very low end of content management experiences, and at the very high end, benefits may be a bit more limited, but it can truly scale to handle any use case from standard content management to complex enterprise DXP solutions, as well as headless CMS use cases.
