If you don't have to manage your client's email and their email archiver Acronis works very well. If you're looking for just a backup service for what's on a particular computer then Acronis is perfect. It is easy to use, so newcomers are not overwhelmed with features. It does not include as robust features as Barracuda and Cloudberry, but it does work well as just a backup.

Small to medium businesses will greatly appreciate the price-point and ease of use as a backup solution. May not be the best solution for long-term retention, but that is based on the company and their media.

Especially well suited to a VMware environment - a single cost-effective VM host license covers all of the VMs on that host without the need to install local agents onto each machine. This was a massive positive for us and the Symantec system we were currently using.

Acronis backup has perfect restoration across hardware where the success rate is so high. We had successfully migrated our database server using acronis backup advance with their universal restore function which allowed us to bypass the reconfiguration process. Upon a complete restore, the database server is up and running without further configuration.

In small to medium sized businesses I feel like Acronis Backup & Recovery easily hits a long home run. For companies who don't like Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager or cannot afford its hefty price tag, this product is well suited for you. I think it can be used by multiple levels of helpdesk users within an IT organization or department.

It is great for Windows servers and workstations and also good for Linux when using external boot media. It would be nice to have better support for mobile devices and capturing their exact state including the OS that is installed at the time.

If you have a grouping of Windows 7 or newer machines it should work well. But from what I experienced it did not like to work with older versions of Windows. And again, I am unsure if it was something with our PC's or if it was the backup software that was having the issue.

Acronis Backup & Recovery is well suited for backing up data or system images in recovery situations or when a new system is being installed. Being able to restore from a backup rather than installing all programs and software and migrating data is a real time saver. Additionally, Acronis Backup & Recovery makes quick work of mass deploying computers or laptops when using a master image and dropping that image on all the systems to deploy.

Software is perfect for SMB networks. It allows admins to easily manage backups of desktops and servers. Acronis also is great if you get infected by a crypto virus. Just roll back the computer to the last image and you are all set.

This is ok for a client that can't afford an imaged based backup. I would not recommend this for a server based network, or a client whose data is critical. For a basic retention policy based backup, this is OK. Not ready for primetime or for major networks. Would like to see better support

Acronis Backup & Recovery was used in our organization as a way to upgrade a computer to new hardware so we could continue to use a legacy program. We also use Acronis for bare metal backups of systems that would impact our business if they had extended downtime. Since we are a distributed organization over a regional area, on-site support for my 1 man IT department makes Acronis a good solution so backups are in place if we need them in a disaster and I can get right to work restoring our systems.

When you need to mass deploy laptops with one image, Acronis shines. We would sometimes have to deploy 80+ laptops in a short amount of time. Simply load up the image and bootable software on an external drive and you can complete as quickly as possible, especially if you have more than one bootable device.

It works very well in most any environment, though with its current pricing/licensing structure it is best suited for home use, or small/medium business use. A large to enterprise sized business might find the cost to be a bit too high in terms of ROI. Home use licenses are probably the best value in a lot of ways considering most home computers have 0 redundancy and thus failure usually means 100% loss of information. Many businesses usually have at least SOME layer of redundancy such as RAID 1 data arrays for server storage but this still adds an additional and affordable workstation backup option on top of that redundancy to aid in recovery.
