We use Acronis Cyber Backup Cloud both internally across our whole organization and for the customers we manage as our primary backup and disaster recovery solution. It gives us the ability to facilitate business continuity from a data/system backup and recovery perspective. With Acronis, we can more easily recover from unavoidable system failures and user errors that would normally result in loss of data or productivity.
  • Single pane of glass for managing customer tenants
  • Quick and reliable backup recovery
  • Both onsite and offsite backup destinations are supported
  • Integrations with third-party products like ConnectWise Manage and ConnectWise Automate do not function as well as they could
  • Inconsistent endpoint stability with new version releases
  • Constant changes in licensing models are confusing
Acronis Cyber Backup Cloud works very well in Managed Service Provider environments where there is a need for a single provider to manage backup and disaster recovery for multiple small and medium-sized businesses.

Acronis Backup Cloud has been setup to provide our clients with an offsite private cloud backup solution.
  • Powerful deduplication
  • Fast (incremental) backup jobs
  • Really intuitive
  • Stable
  • To be honest, I can not find any shortfalls with the solution
Acronis Backup Cloud is well suited across the board. The only "restricting factor" is probably only applied in developing countries, such as South Africa, where ADSL internet connections are is still prevalent. These ADSL speeds seldom reach 6Mbps, so depending on incremental data changes, backup jobs may not complete in time for the start of the next working day. Having said that, we do have many clients on ADSL connections that have no problem with jobs completing.

Acronis is a good backup solution that we use in our organization. It's being used across many organizations we handle. It can secure entire systems, cloud, virtual and mobile platforms. It can also do a bare-metal restore should a major crash happen. It also allows you to restore from the cloud in case a major crash happens where your hardware is physically damaged locally.
  • Secures any platform.
  • Works seamlessly with Acronis apps.
  • Off-site storage.
  • Expensive.
  • It can be complicated.
  • You need to have Acronis backup for the cloud part to function.
Acronis is well suited for a larger or more complicated business where downtime is more critical. It's also well suited for a scenario where a client has a harsher work environment where there are changes in physical damage to machines. It's not suited so well to a small business where cost is a major factor. It can be an expensive product.

It has cut our backup infrastructure costs by half and is more reliable than before.
  • Disaster recovery with offsite backups
  • Management of backup with great reporting
  • ease of use and deployment
  • support needs to be better
  • API integration
  • better re-seller program with higher margins
For remote backup and disaster recovery. SAN backups need improvement, along with Hyper-V intergration.

Acronis is a solid software backup tool that is very flexible for small to medium businesses. It provides compatibility with numerous on premises as well as cloud-based infrastructures. It boasts the ability to back up database software applications including Exchange and SQL as well. There are not too many players backing up Office 365 Hosted Exchange, but it also assists with this.
  • Full image and bare-metal recovery backups for any physical or virtual server.
  • Physical to virtual and other tools built-in to make conversions / recoveries easier and more efficient.
  • Ability to spin up servers on the fly from recovery media.
  • Options to backup on premise as well as offsite to Acronis cloud.
  • No option for on premises hardware BDR. This means recovery restorations rely on self-supplied hardware performance.
  • License per machine can get costly if large number of computers or servers.
Great solution for small to medium size businesses. The cost per server instance can prohibit large growth or expansion as companies grow. This solution is great for a business that wants to back up a small number of devices including potential offsite storage via Acronis Cloud option. Would recommend but need to investigate all options in regards to number of endpoints.

DMI Networking is a managed service provider for dentists, with a national presence. We use Acronis Backup Cloud to back up servers and assorted devices, and we absolutely love it.

When we switched from eFolder, we saved over $1500 per month in our backup, and we received more features than we were getting before. Acronis Backup Cloud lets us virtualize a server from the backup media, which brings up dental practices in less than 15 minutes, as opposed to the many hours needed to do a complete restore.

I was the person who chose Acronis Backup Cloud and negotiated the contract with them. I also provide the backup solution to clients and am one of two people here who implement it for them.
  • Quick Virtualization. Acronis can virtualize most systems and get you back up in 15-30 minutes.
  • Encryption of Backups. You own the encryption key, and Acronis doesn't - so not even Acronis employees can get into your cloud data. Encryption meets all HIPAA requirements for data protection.
  • Easy to resell. You can create accounts for individuals outside of the company to allow them access to their backup console. It's very easy to set up, and clients are happy with how easy it is to use.
  • The website is pretty slow and will kick you off sometimes. I know they are working on this. For now, this is the biggest problem we have with Acronis.
  • Their support team isn't great. It can take a while to get an issue resolved, although issues do not happen frequently.
Acronis Backup Cloud is suited for backing up Windows Servers. Downtime is greatly decreased by using their virtualization options. You will need a Hyper-V enabled computer to virtualize, though, but this can be one of your general-use workstations. A Windows 10 Pro machine with 16 GB of RAM would do it for you.

Or, if you have Macs that need to be backed up, you can do that as well. You can grab either full volume images, or files/folders.

I can't really think of a scenario that you would not want Acronis Backup Cloud, except pre-Server 2012 OS's, since virtualization isn't supported on those older systems.

It is used to support virtual machines of hyper-v and VMWare, we have clients to whom we also support this type of virtual machines and desks, making sure that the backups are executed in a good way and stored in the Acronis cloud. All this in a very easy way to execute.
  • Backup of information quickly and effectively
  • Easy data restoration
  • A simple and quick enablement of the tool, with a simple administration
  • That there were more agents that could be supported in the cloud
Virtual environments, PC backup, exchange environments and SQL

Our organization uses Acronis Cloud backup across our whole environment. We use Acronis to backup virtual servers hosted on VMware Vcloud and Office 365 mailboxes. The advantage of Acronis cloud services is accessing our backups anywhere and having the ability to restore or download backup items from the online console.
  • The Acronis backup console is easy to use.
  • Acronis offers an online recovery console to access items quickly and easily.
  • The ability to backup and restore Office 365 mailboxes.
  • Creating backup plans and schedules is simple.
  • Email alerts notifying administrators on backup failures.
  • The backup deduplication and compression features is one of industries best.
  • The fact Acronis is an OS client base backup, which leads to more backup failures. Although most issues can be corrected with restarting services.
  • Recovering backups from the cloud(internet) is a lot slower then acessing local backups.
  • The backup error reports are not detailed enough to help administrators fix issues.
Acronis is a great solution for organizations with an IT department or consultant. It works great for IT administrators that have multiple data centers so they can have a central backup location. Acronis would not be a great fit for organizations with low bandwidth or slow internet speeds.

We are using Backup 12 (standard edition) to back up local environment (VMware machines, 2 physical windows servers). It is used by our (IT) department.
  • Up to date UI, convenient central management interface, web-based console (we use local web console)
  • Good to backup all machines (PC, windows server, Vmware) using a single tool
  • More features needed - tapes support, more advanced deduplication
Small to medium environments (1-5 physical servers, 20-200 workstations)
