As many school districts around the country have moved to a remote learning model we were in need of a platform that would allow us to manage our endpoints more effectively during this difficult time. Making the move to Action1 has been a game-changer for us due to the platform's flexibility.

We were in need of a platform that would allow us to install, update, and manage software and software updates remotely. Action1 has provided us with a way to update software that may have critical vulnerabilities in a timely manner. The platform also allows us to pull inventory information on endpoints. We can set various alerts to be sent via email and schedule reports. Managing Windows updates is simple and intuitive.

We were able to push out the Action1 Agent Utilizing the Action1 endpoint discovery agent in a matter of minutes and I cannot say a bad thing about the platform.
  • Remote Access allows us the ability to help our staff remotely.
  • Uploading and installing software via the Action1 console is very easy to use.
  • You will have greater visibility of your endpoints using the Action1 IT Asset Management piece.
Cons
  • I would like to see more Pre packaged apps in the Action1 App Store.
  • I would like to see a list of IT friendly powershell scripts to allow for easy maintenance. (Delete users, Clean Temporary files... )
If you need a solution to help you remotely manage your endpoints this is a no-brainer. I highly recommend signing up for the trial and pushing the agent out to a few endpoints to test.

Action1 helps with patch management and keeping our devices up-to-date. It allows me to upload both exe and msi files for update management which not every solution allows for. Using this I can manage my devices in office and remotely with ease. On top of that it helps address any cost concerns as the first 200 endpoints are free and as a small business it makes it really easy to implement.
  • The best at patch management due to being their main focus
  • Has a well organized interface that is easy to use
  • Offers built in vulnerability monitoring to help prioritize what apps need updating.
Cons
  • Their remote desktop tool is still lacking in features
I use Action1 alongside another solution. Due to Action1 being free for the first 200 endpoints it is no trouble to do. Action1 has always done well at helping me update our devices on a regular cadence and has options to prevent the updates from interrupting the user experience. It is less helpful when it comes to remotely managing devices. The remote desktop function is still immature and lacking in features. There is also no live command line option and only allows for running scripts ad hoc.

Our agency was looking at Action1 Cloud Remote Monitoring and Management Solution for cloud-based management and software deployment. We had over 400 laptops deployed when COVID-19 hit but no way to manage them outside of them being connected to out VPN. Action1 Cloud Remote Monitoring and Management Solution just happened to be one of the few solutions we were looking at to resolve this predicament.
  • Customer service has very fast response times compared to other companies we dealt with in the past.
  • Action1 Cloud Remote Monitoring and Management Solution's engineers were able to help me resolve any issue I faced when attempting to set up a test environment and deploy software and scripts to a few computers.
  • Action1 Cloud Remote Monitoring and Management Solution has a user-friendly interface if you've ever used any kind of software deployment system before.
  • Action1 Cloud Remote Monitoring and Management Solution complies with HIPAA and FIPS
Cons
  • Deploying packages with multiple files is a little tedious
  • Have to use an auto-extract EXE file to copy files

Action1 Cloud Remote Monitoring and Management Solution is well suited for networks of all sizes looking for patching, updating, and deploying software while being able to remotely monitor and manage computers from the cloud.

It may not be as well suited for companies and organizations with a very large inventory of software that's install contains more than one file or if software requires other files to be copied to a computer.

Great solution for small organization

We are providing IT services to small organizations and were looking at a solution to manage our clients endpoints in a more central way and provide us the ability to monitor software patching as well and deploy apps easily across multiple systems remotely. We came across Action1 [Cloud Remote Monitoring and Management Solution] while looking at others solutions and it looked like it had all of the features we were looking for, while still being easy to use for our technicians. We started rolling it out at one of our client to test and were really happy so far with the results. We had a couple issues at the beginning, but Action1 [Remote Monitoring and Management Solution] support team did an incredible job at fixing it quickly and keeping us updated on the progress and everything was resolved and now working as intended.
  • Customer service and support team are easy to reach and response time is really fast
  • Interface is really user friendly and easy to use
Cons
  • No iPhone or iPad app (at least as of now) could be nice to have eventually
[Action1 Cloud Remote Monitoring and Management Solution is a] really great tool for organizations looking at a solution that doesn't rely on on-premise infrastructure to manage multiple sites or work-from-home devices. As long as the endpoints are connected to the internet they will show as online in the system.

As a small MSP servicing SMEs in today’s competitive and restrictive economic environment, Action1 really help us to reduce overheads and save time – plus it enables us to provide a better service to our clients. We manage our client’s computer systems completely - hardware, software, security, and backups. Additionally, we provide remote support on an ad hoc basis when they require direct assistance. By using Action1 we can easily monitor multiple companies effectively, approve updates and configure scheduled tasks as needed. I would strongly suggest if you were a smaller MSP or if you simply need to monitor and manage a couple of your own computers, give Action1 a go. They might not be as polished as some of their larger competitors, but they get the job done at a fraction of the cost. Brilliant job, Action1!
  • Approved and scheduled patch management.
  • Software and hardware inventory.
  • Remote control.
Cons
  • Would appreciate two factor authentication via Google Authenticator or a similar app.
Perfect for small to medium enterprises.
