Reviews
(176-200 of 633)Without an email list you don't have a business, and ActiveCampaign makes this easy.
- Automated Email follow-up
- Post-purchase sequences
- Marketing campaigns
- The ability to use multiple sending emails.
- There are some bugs when moving between tabs that can be annoying.
- Segmentation is powerful but can be confusing.
ActiveCampaign for powerful automations and lead journeys
- API connections to marketing tools
- Manage at the list and user/tag level
- Marketing & Sales CRM in one tool
- Creating long automations is slow
- Ability to pull in additional lead context (social, etc information)
I wouldn't recommend to someone who is just starting marketing and not willing to invest in automations and nurturing campaigns. There are free tools that will collect email addresses. ActiveCampaign value is guiding leads to becoming customers.
ActiveCampaign is the best choice for online marketers
- The automations feature is extremely useful
- The reports function gives me actionable insights I can make decisions with
- Deliverability is pretty reliable
- Sometimes, the emails don't land in the inbox for a few minutes.
For Visual Email Campaign builders

- Visual workflow

- Landing page for opt in

ActiveCampaign is suited not only for enterprises but for small businesses as well which we love because as we scale we don't need to migrate our data to a different platform. They have a starting plan for 500 people in the email list and you can get great features.
If you're a small business looking for an email autoresponder and CRM you can achieve that with ActiveCampaign. They have basic and robust tiers so they can cater to different sizes of organizations.
Active everyday!
- Easy to import contacts & details from another provider
- Build your "deals" & customize the pipeline
- Provide videos that teach you how to move to the next step
- I'm struggling with the automations ... I'm sure I'm overcomplicating things.
- Attaching documents to automated emails that get sent
- Adding a photo or avatar to Clients
The king of automations
- Automations - so many options!
- Easy overview of contacts and multiple options to filter them
- Many integrations available
- The UI could be more intuitive
- The custom forms aren't particularly attractive design wise
- Other providers have nicer templates, but I like to keep my emails simple, so it's not a big problem
If your approach to email marketing is a simple one, just building a mailing list and sending some emails every now and then, maybe ActiveCampaign would be a bit of an overkill, or put in another way, a waste of cool functions :P
ActiveCampaign excels and reaches our business expectations
- Onboarding and free migration process
- Automations
- Campaign and user reports
- Easier segmenting
Solopreneurs Take
- Customer email capture
- Automations
- Hands on tutorial
- Diverse platform
- More tutorials that don't have to video chats
- More integrations
- Easier way to add signature like a button
Strong Capabilities and Customization without Enterprise Pricing
We leverage forms for in-house contact creation with a large number of custom fields, highly-segmented automation to get prospects through the appropriate processes, automated emails when relevant (to leads as well as internal emails), and the CRM platform as the primary method for keeping track of all prospects, past and present.
- Ability to leverage a large number of custom fields for contacts
- Create automations that span from very simple to very complex including segmentation by any custom field and connecting different automations together.
- Scales based on specific business needs including platform capabilities and number of contacts
- With the high level of customization, can be complex or overwhelming for some new users
- Would like the ability to add some features a la carte instead of having to upgrade
- Some reports can feel a little limited and the ability to create custom reports and charts/graphs would be nice
If you're just looking to send out a simple series of emails, ActiveCampaign is likely more than you need.
You won't regret investing in ActiveCampaign
It is also really beneficial as a marketing solution & we specifically use it for webinars - reminders, follow-ups, etc.
It is mainly used by 1 person/department but benefits many other departments.
My favorite feature has to be the SMS integration with Twilio.
- Service - Awesome live chat
- Integrations
- Ease of use
- Two way messaging with Twilio would be beneficial
- Responses from Twilio Messages showing in the client contact history
- A way to set specific timeframes for email/Twilio SMS so you don't have to add a waiting stage before each step of an automation
- Ability to update email signature with one click (i.e. not going individually into every email
My partner has an e-commerce business & we decided it wasn't really suitable for his needs.
It's affordable for even small businesses & a worthwhile investment
Drip Sequences with Ease
- List Segmentation
- Intuitive and Easy to use
- Great dashboards.
- I'm not as familiar with the system so can't really say
ActiveCampaign - robust API, unlimited sends as you scale and good client support.
- Good deliverability
- Good suite of automations - (beautifully designed)
- Customer focused - they have been responsive to our needs.
- Email builder is good but could be improved - particularly for varying images sizes when side by side in a row. I recently found this challenging.
- Email segmenting is also good as is, but could also be improved - e.g. if I want to schedule 3 emails to similar groups at the same time of day and exclude one group, I have to wait for one email to completely send before I can exclude the group. Logic could be applied to exclude those email addresses to allow me to draft and schedule them all at once.
- I can't think of anything else I'd improve. it's generally very good.
A solid CRM with a great price point
- A fully fledged CRM
- Keeps track of deals, stages and pipeline
- Automated campaigns for new and existing customers
- Slight bug when adding deals (it seems to duplicate the deal but fine after a refresh)
- Speed has been improved a lot recently, but can be improved further
It is well suited for created automated scenarios to trigger out customized campaigns for new and existing clients.
Great getting started email marketing system!
- Automated email marketing
- Segmenting email subscribers
- A bit of a learning curve
- A lot of features which is a bit overwhelming at first!
- Automated sequences
- Onboarding
- Customer campaigns
- Offer review on your account to highlight what you are not using
- More video demonstrations
- Reusing templates and past campaigns
The One Solution That All Entrepreneurs Need...
We use it to send:
- We use it to bring in leads from all social and media formats into ActiveCampaign email lists that trigger various email automation.
- We use it to automate for us what path a lead or client takes within our value ladder of services. Depending on the lead's outcomes, on whether they buy, buy a certain service, click on a certain link, don't click on a certain link, are male or female, or any other circumstances - we can use all the valuable data ActiveCampaign gives us to better serve our clients and lead our potential leads into one of our paid services.
- We use it as a CRM, email announcements, newsletters, product launches, and more.
- Email Automations

- CRM & Sales Automation
- Data Tracking
- Would love a flow chart builder to visually map out my processes
- More available fonts
- More training videos
Actively Campaigning to keep using ActiveCampaign
- Automations
- Landing Pages
- Campaigns
- Sending automation emails at a set time (avail on campaigns)
- Sending campaigns at the time that the customer is most likely to open it (avail on automation
Switching to ActiveCampaign was easy!
- Great customer service.
- Robust interface.
- Different ways of segmenting customers.
- It would be nice if they could offer quick videos right next to the function you are using. I usually go to youtube and have to waste time searching for someone with the best and shortest video.
- The tagging can also have something added so that it can easily and automatically be put into past email addresses if I choose to do so.
The best all-round email marketing and CRM app
- Managing contacts and recording our interactions with them
- Sending regular emails to our mailing list to stay in touch with them and provide educational content
- For automations as part of products and services we sell (onboarding and course delivery)
- The email builder has a lot of customization options when compared with other email marketing apps.
- The automation builder is incredibly powerful, particularly when combined with contact tagging. With 'tag added' and 'tag removed' as triggers for automations, there's huge scope for building automation.
- Forms and landing pages are very useful, especially for list building.
- My biggest frustration is with the email campaign reports. The UI appears to almost be from a different, much older app entirely. The data I can see about campaigns at a glance is very limited compared to other email marketing apps.
- More flexibility with Zapier would be a real improvement.
- The campaign creation process, although mostly excellent, feels a little clunky at times. For example, when choosing a segment to send to (that includes all contacts with a specific tag) I can't see who is in that segment without a number of additional clicks.
Would definitely recommend using- but allow time to learn it!
- Marketing campaigns
- Automations and workflows
- Analytics
- It's really slow on my system and no-one can tell me why
- Huge learning curve, even if you're used to workflows/automations
- Found it difficult to find stuff in help but that could be just me
If you’re still learning about tech, don’t give up!
It helps me with several lead magnets LINKING to an automated marketing campaign.
It helps me in capturing contacts.
It helps me automate my regular content offerings.
- Customer service
- Automation
- Newsletters
- More basic entry level tech support
- How to videos for beginners
- Explanation of technology.
I would imagine it would be more challenging in brick-and-mortar-type businesses.
Great email software for beginner to advanced
- Scheduler
- Multiple lists/domains
- Integrations
- Increased subscribers in price brackets
Perfect For Creative Business Owners!
I also use it to send out our email newsletter and reminders about current/upcoming events and promotions.
- Message Automation
- CRM
- Email Newsletters
- I really can't think of anything. They do a great job with all the services and features they offer.
Great for visual learners
- Automations
- Design
- Logic flow
- At first, the logic flow on segmenting was hard to get my head around and to be honest I still struggle a little
Slight learning curve at the beginning, but ease of use is HUGE
- Customer service is phenomenal
- Ease of use
- Additional training and assistance
- There are a LOT of functions and terminology - a quickly accessed cheat sheet of terms and what each page on the navbar is used for would be helpful.
- The opt-in process can be quite frustrating; it feels like we have lost contacts due to this system.
- Email builder is easy to use but there's room for growth. Not currently a lot of font options which can be annoying in terms of staying on brand.
