Great Infusionsoft replacement... unless you just enjoy complicated and expensive software
I use it for automated marketing campaigns, newsletters, sales and the ease-of-use is terrific. I didn't have to spend six weeks in a bootcamp to understand the basic functionality of it and how to apply it. I'm the primary user, but a few of my employees use it for occasional things and find it user-friendly.
It saved me money, saved me time, and enabled me to match the features of Infusionsoft, for the most part. And the customer service is terrific. If I ever run into an issue or have a question, I am able to get help almost immediately, which is HUGE.
In a crowded market, ActiveCampaign distinguishes itself, and I recommend at least putting in on your list to research if you're looking for a new marketing automation platform.

I choose ActiveCampaign
- Automations is one of the features I love the most. I can create workflows to welcome new leads or new clients, to let them know about me and my company, to sell my products and services taking into account their interests and behaviour (if they read an e-mail, if they clicked an offer, if they already bought another product...). I can even recover abandoned carts.
- I love the possibility to personalize my e-mails according to my contacts profile or behaviour, so they feel I talk directly to them (I call them by their names or show some paragraphs just to those who attended some courses).
- It is also great that it allows direct and easy integrations with most of the marketing tools and softwares in the market.
- The pricing plan changes from 10.000 to 25.000 contacts and I miss a new pricing plan in the middle, from 10.000 to 15.000 or 17.500 contacts.
- It is not possible to pay the monthly bill by Paypal.
- I miss the display of automations or sequences which are built inside other main automations.
ActiveCampaign is intuitive with a low learning curve. I like that I am able to see my contacts in an easy to view snapshot. The ability to create tags instead of creating an entirely new email list has been the real gem for me. Now, I can sort my contacts and send the appropriate email at the right time to the right person.

Small Business Review For ActiveCampaign
- Easy to use/organize automations and campaigns.
- Good analytics.
- Good options for email layout and style depending on the marketing purpose.
- It would be helpful to be able to create a new list after starting a new campaign/automation but currently you have to create the list first and then go back and start the campaign/automation.
- Automation of emails and segmenting clients into a few or more different lists depending on their needs and problems.
- Intuitive interface to create campaigns and automations and can easily see the journey the client or lead will take.
- Can see when people open their emails and have detailed statistics of that if needed.
- The interface may feel a bit clunky and slow initially but you get used to it.
- A few bugs here and there occasionally, such as one of the leads waiting at the last step of automation wouldn't progress in the automation after an extra step was added, while the others would.
- The fonts for saved email response templates varied for some reason and couldn't be set, so had one that was inconsistent with the font.
- Had a bug with an email template that would make me unable to save some emails I wrote using it, but this was fixed by the support team.
I use it on a small scale so don't use all the functions, but a lot of the functionality I see can be used at a very large scale including sales teams, etc.
Very satisfied with functionality and ease of Active Campaign. And very happy with their quick and accurate support.

Less convenient for use in quiz funnel kind of sequences. Less suited for complete funnel building, since it lacks a feature to visualize the integration with landing pages.

The most versatile and logical CRM I've come across
- Excellent for complicated user flows, mapping out emails depending on user behaviour. The simple flow chart way of creating automations is very easy for anyone with a logical thought process.
- Fantastic at managing and segmenting large contact bases because you can tag people through automations depending on almost anything you can think of.
- Very strong at deliverability, because it flags when spam warnings are there and gets us over 90% open rates.
- It could have better options for templates and making emails look good on mobile.
It allows me to create separate lists for different email campaigns and has a wide variety of triggers to start a sequence (links in an email, complete of a different Active Campaign, etc.). The sequences are very graphical and you can even drag various steps and move them to new locations. I have also created a few templates that have saved time for establishing styles for various campaigns.

- Sometimes (not often) the system seems a little sluggish.
- It would be nice if they had an online chat support. But otherwise they respond to contacts relatively quickly.
I know larger companies that need more features may use a tool such as Infusionsoft. I've heard it is much more fully featured, but is also complex, expensive and is more of an enterprise level solution.

Some ways Active Campaign has helped me include adding people to my mailing list, creating automatic followups, email sequences, and weekly communication campaigns. I have used it primarily for email marketing. I can't think of situations where I would not recommend ActiveCampaign over its competitors - it's more cost effective than ConvertKit though perhaps a bit less pretty, and oodles more cost effective than Keap (Infusionsoft).
Occasionally, I receive email marketing from someone and am unable to unsubscribe, and I wish they'd get set up with ActiveCampaign!
When it comes to supporting my community and maintaining email connections, I have trusted ActiveCampaign for more than three years.
- Automation: the setup is simple and straightforward.
- Formatting: again, simplicity rules.
- Delivery: I've never noticed a major deliverability problem.
- Sign up form - I still use a form plugin to dress up the ActiveCampaign form.
- Not as pretty, well-designed or elegant looking as ConvertKit.
- I run into occasional formatting issues when selecting font to make it bold, and the entire line gets wonky. This has been the one consistent glitch over the years.
- ActiveCampaign's marketing automation features have also revolutionized our workflows
- We utilize ActiveCampaign's messaging features for sending targeted SMS and site messages, helping us reach our customers in real-time, and further driving engagement.
- In terms of sales and CRM, ActiveCampaign provides a comprehensive view of our customer data, making it easier for our sales team to track and manage leads.
- The mobile app could be improved. It doesn't offer all the functionality available on the desktop version, which can limit what can be accomplished when I'm away from my computer.
- While the platform is comprehensive, its user interface could be more intuitive and load faster at times.
- Some smaller businesses and startups might find ActiveCampaign's advanced features to be pricey. Offering more scalable pricing options or packages tailored to smaller businesses might be beneficial.

Great Affordable CRM System
As a Facebook Ads expert I implement active campaign for clients to manage their leads and sales from their ad campaigns.
I also use Active Campaign to manage our own email marketing.
I find it a lot easier to use than other CRM software and much more user friendly.
This saves a lot of time for myself and our clients.
